Air went out on a hot day in July, I called several companies for a bid and although not the cheapest the 10 year we cover everything on the standard air unit just made sense. They replaced my unit in a couple of days with friendly personable techs. So far no issues with the installation. If You have AC problems these guys should be on your list of people to talk to. read more

Received a Service One Warranty when we bought our house. We were pretty excited as they were a local company and like to support local companies when we can. A complete disaster trying to get people to come out. When scheduling doesn't work they make excuses and try to pass it back off as my fault. The last time I waited around for them for 2 hours after they were supposed to be there and finally went to work. Note to Service One: When you are providing a service to customers that have a problem and they pay for this service, you need to PROVIDE the actual service. I would have been one of your biggest advocates and probably brought you many other customers if you had done what you said and had several people waiting to see how it went with you .. I have told them and none of them are considering you now. You need to treat your customers with more respect and an occasional missed appointment isn't the end of the world .. but how you treat them when they call in about the missed appointment is what defines your company .. and you failed! I obtained a one-year home warranty from Service One as part of a home purchase, and had my first chance to use it about a week before the year was up when my AC began acting up. The wait time between my call and appointment was two days, which seemed acceptable based on the time of year. Ryan showed up and was very thorough in his troubleshooting. He was patient and answered the dozens of questions I asked him without a second thought. I was very pleased with the service and won't have a second thought about calling Service One (and asking for Ryan) in the future. read more

What a scam. It's such a shame that this company can't seem to get it together or to actually cover what they say they do. Recently I called regarding a leaking boiler backflow device. I honestly didn't think it would be covered but much to my surprise I was told that it was. The guy on the phone actually put me on hold to do le check. So I set up the appointment. Got q call later in the week saying that the device they use to check the backflow is being serviced. Great perhaps another couple days. Nope. 2 weeks. Ok fine. Not the best situation but it can hold 2 weeks. Call two weeks later, still not ready. So I say perhaps I call somewhere else and have them do it and service one can reimburse me. You know, because I pay a premium for a service which they cant provide. Of course they cant do that. They suggest I perhaps call someone else because it's not like they cover a backflow device anyway. WHAT?! I spent a whole conversation on the phone specifically checking if it is is covered and suddenly it's not. I tell the person on the phone that this is absolutely ridiculous and I want to speak to a manager and get my money back since I only began the service 3 months ago. I get a machine and leave a msg. No reply. I call 3 or 4 more times with no return call. I know that certain things cant be helped. I am a reasonable person. I mean, I waited 2 weeks for this thing to be fixed only to call to check in two weeks later and they tell me they still dont even know when their device will even be finished being calibrated. Then to not even return my calls on top of that. Unacceptable. I suppose at this point I will have to eat the cost of a year of coverage and the best I can do with the situation is to warn everyone out there that if this can happen to me then it can and probably will happen to you. This service is below worthless!!!! Paid my monthly fee on time every time and we have tried to use the service 3 times. All three times there was an excuse to why they could not get to us right away. Each time we were told we would be on a waiting list and hopefully get to our problem in the next 2 to 3 days. First 2 times was in the winter and we lost heat. Sub freezing temperatures. The next time was in summer and air went out. Not helpful at all and if you have a complaint you are sent to voice mail limbo. Save your money and just call a reputable contractor when service is needed!!! read more

We had Cliff come out to check on an AC/heating unit that had stopped working. He was very professional and explained everything he was doing along the way and also provided quite a few helpful tips for future repairs. He didn't try to oversell us and identified/fixed the problem quickly. We would definitely use ServiceOne again and especially recommend Cliff! read more

Called ServiceOne at 9:03 PM for an emergency service call, they called back at 9:32. they left VM asking for a call back. Phone problem, I missed the call and called back at 10:03 PM left VM, Called back and left a second message at 10:50 left VM. no call back. called the office 11:19PM after no response. informed they would reach out for a call back. No call from Tech. Called back to the office at 12:45 AM told they would reach out for a call back, no call. Called back back at 2:00 AM informed. Informed that the tech had made multiple call attempts, cell shows one incoming call attempt and that he had called into the office and said the emergency was canceled. He had made zero attempt to call back, the office had made zero attempt to inform me and at every call apparently the call center lied about having reached out to the tech or call. I've learned 3 things from this experience. 1, The Tech a liar as only one call attempt was made and no attempt to respond to the two voice mails or respond to the number left attempts. 2, the customer service reps are too lazy to do their job and either reach out to the tech as they said they would at 11:19 pm, 12:45 AM or 2:00AM. And 3 after talking to their customer service they have convinced me that moving the 6 account with service one to another company is likely the best way to go. Because even when you pay them a monthly service fee and agree and an emergency trip charge fee of 150.00 they cant be bothered to show up or have the common courtesy to call you back. its a shame a 1/2 star rating is not possible. read more

Alan D. came out today to do the annual furnace inspection that comes with our package. He was thorough, on-time, polite, and very informative. He went right to work and didn't waste any time. His service was reliable and he seemed very knowledgeable. When all was done, we wrote down what needed more work as well as took the time to show me what it was instead of just handing me a paper. Afterwards, he wrote down everything he did as well as gave me a bid about what still needed repair. Again, very thorough and trust-worthy. read more

WARNING! I usually don't post negative comments on places, but this is a must. I had an unbelievable experience with their service man Bob. We had a a Whirlpool washer which was having an issue with door lock\draining. I took it upon myself before I called them to take back off and make sure drain catch was clear and drained. I thought it potentially could have been clogged. It wasn't so, I left door and water drain catch off. I called the next day and schedule appointment. Earliest they had was five days later, so I took it. So Bob shows up and I met him at sidewalk and explained problem and told him what I had done the week before. He said "let's go see what's going on." He helped me put washer off my three inch pedestal in basement and out of the blue says I'm out of here I have three more call I have to do. He started walking up my stairs from basement and I said are you serious? He is like yep it's our policy we don't touch anything if customer touched it. I said I told you and lady on phone what I did prior. I called office immediately and told them the unprofessional experience and what happened. Well long story short I wanted someone to help me put it back up on pedestal and I said don't send Bob. Who shows up! Busy Bob! I said please leave I asked for someone else. So called back and talked to Craig and he said I don't have anybody. I said you better figure it out so he finally sent a friendly guy from Bellevue that helped. And said I would have fixed it without that issue. I wouldn't waste my time or money with people with bad customer service. The nicest people and very knowledgeable!!! When I had issues with my washer. They looked over the washer and ordered the art. When he came back to put that part in then another issues surfaced. They called to tell me the part was no longer made but they had called around to other appliance stores and got the part. :) By the time they were done I had a new washer. Then the ice cube maker stopped working the same day he came out to finish up the washer. He said no problem and put a new one in..... He not only fixed our two big plumbing problems fast, he took the time to educate me on how to avoid these situations in the future and how to fix some simple problems on my own. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because, even though there is literally sign on our fence saying to keep the gates closed, every single time they leave the gates open. We have a dog who goes out into the yard through a doggy door, and because of their negligence she has walked out of our yard unbeknownst to us. Been without my microwave for over a month now and on the 4th service technician! Instead of replacing the unit they rather save a buck and make you wait for replacement parts! They care less about your inconvenience- your just a number. Service one is not customer oriented. I had a technician that provided excellent service however he appeared to have inappropriately secured the agitator within my washing machine which subsequently came loose and projected across the room. Although we were lucky no one was hurt and I gave them all the benefit of doubt, when I tried to get them to come back and repair they adamantly said no machine was too old. I only wanted them to come and repair the damage they had done and put back to prior working condition. I feel they at least owe me personally looking at issue as customer service may not be adequately relaying my issue. You should never have a machine in worse working condition after a repair man has been out! read more

After years of having some type of service contract with them we have decided it is no longer worth it. The list of things they won't cover in our house is just as long as the list they do. Was recently told that since we have an older AC/Furnace and the government was not going to allow those to be made anymore they would no longer cover it. When I told them to cancel the policy the customer service rep got an attitude and said "you are really just dropping because we wont cover your heating and air". Well yes I am. I can afford a new dishwasher, if my heating and air goes out that is an expense outside of my budget. Why would I keep a company and pay them $100's of dollars a year, that is going to charge me $75 to look at my dishwasher when I can buy a new one for $200. read more

Find a different Service Provider. We have (shortly will be had) the lower level service to get the free maintenance inspections on our heater and Air Conditioner. We called early we thought to schedule the Maintenance service for our air conditioner knowing we would need Freon since our unit has a small leak. Appointment was scheduled for 2 weeks out, week of service they called and had to reschedule for another 1 - 2 weeks out, they finally came the end of June. We told them we would need Freon when we booked the appointment and My Husband told them again while they were at our home. But the tech said it was fine and did NOT add any freon (which we would have had to pay for with our plan). Less than a month later our capacitor blew up, called another repair company, they came out same day and we needed over 2 Lbs of Freon in addition to a new capacitor. He also found our drain hose for the unit was clogged. When I called to report this all Jeremy at Service One had to say is "it was a month ago, these issue may not have been detectable then". They are never able to come the same day. We have had their service for more than 25 years and the last two times. When we needed service they were incredibly slow and rude. It took almost 2 weeks to get my washing machine repaired and most recently they wanted me to wait 2 days to have a drain repaired when we had standing water in the basement. We are switching to another home warranty program today and the drain was repaired by Eyeman plumbing for less than Service One was going to make me pay. read more

After 11 years of a continuous relationship, I am disappointed in how Service One in Omaha has deteriorated. It was a great company that was reliable, but ,over the past two years, we have had a lot of issues with communication and promptness. When you talk to a receptionist, (Angela and Lisa are especially notorious), there does not seem to be clear documentation of phone calls/conversations. The lack of a paper trail leads to tons of confusion and frustration. For example, my washing machine broke down about a year ago and it took three weeks to get it replaced. Service One attempted to fix it week 1, but it didn't work. They then told me they would get back to me with potential information on a replacement. After a week and a half, I had to call them to get the process moving; they seem to have forgotten about my situation. After we got the washer replaced, we got an awkward call telling us that a replacement part had arrived. The receptionist tried to set up a time for us to fix the washer that had already been replaced. The proper documentation was not filed to let the Service One computer system know that our problem had been solved. This is a baffling level of disorganization. Currently, we are dealing with a broken dryer. It has been broken for 3 weeks and the part has been here in Omaha for about a week. Service One continues to change the appointment day at the last minute with little regard for any scheduling I had made around their appointment. They have little regard to keeping their commitment or providing even a decent level of costumer service; it is all about what is convenient for them. Again, whenever I have tried calling the company, it appears that there is documentation of the prior calls and conversations. I keep having to go into a ten minute spiel about my problem every time I call; the receptionists don't have the slightest clue of what I am talking about. The excuse is always that there is no documentation on the computer system; in 2020, there is no excuse not to have a proper computer system to keep compliant numbers organized. I am waiting to get this fixed I before look into options in town. I am only giving one star since I don't see an option here to give "none". read more

Our air conditioner was not working. It was a bad thermostat, My wife was given 3 choices. Trying to save money, she picked the lowest price one. And the cheapest one is $160.00 for a basic non-programmable with the Bronze Agreement discount. After complaining, they sent a service man to put the program back. But it is still way over priced. Since this is their business model of over charging, I am looking for another service company after being years of loyal customer. So call them for service if you don't mind being over charged. I was expecting him to show up later on the week, but he came two days earlier and found that I was about to install a new intelligent thermostat on my home. Upon arrival, he was very professional to introduce himself and when he noticed that I was to installed the thermostat, he kindly installed it for me without me asking. He was very professional and insightful about what he was doing. This was my first experience with ServiceOne and I found Cliff to be very professional, respectful and he explained the services he was providing and gave recommendations. He was very insightful and also explained the other range of services that ServiceOne offers which I wasn't aware of. Highly recommended. read more

Service One is a rip off. I have had a contract with Service One since 2002 and my water heater went out 2016 now they will not replace it saying I had a repair contract. I was informed from the Rep that the plan I was enrolled in was a Plan that if they could not fix it they would replace it and now they will not stand up to their word. The supervisor Edith tried to help me but could not but the supervisor Alisha in Customer Service never called me back or checked into the issue. When I called her back she said she was busy all morning with emergencies therefore, I gues having a busted water heater was not an emergency to her. After 14 years of service I cancelled and they acted like it was nothing to them but GOD doesn't like ugly it will come back around again on this HORRIBLE company. read more

Our electric water heater stopped working. Our local plumbing company refused to schedule a same day appointment even though they had just replaced our water heater elements three weeks prior. I had a contract with Service One so I called them to ask if they could have a plumber come out to fix our water heater on the same day. They sent someone late on a Friday night. He tried but didn't get it fixed. The next day, they sent an electrician who said it was not an electrical problem. Then, on the same day, the plumber came back again and discovered the problem was that the local plumber had not actually replaced both elements even though we were billed for the replacement of both elements. (To make it worse, I was shown 2 corroded elements by the local plumber who claimed they were taken out of my water heater... needless to say, we received a full refund of our charges from the local plumbing company.) I HIGHLY recommend Service One over everyone else. We will always call them first. read more

First off, the staff are friendly and courteous giving them two stars. However, I am extremely disappointed with my experience using Service One and their home warranty. My furnace and AC went out and I replaced both. Before install the salesman texted me to change the install date to a day later. I called their office to confirm and they had no record of any change and showed up on the original date after we changed plans. Next, the new AC unit was not working and a tech came out to tell us the filter was clogged after less than two weeks and that was the issue. The AC still did not work and a different tech found an o-ring that was failing and replaced it. I then contacted the office to have them explain my invoice and asked for an itemized receipt detailing parts and labor, which they said they do not provide, as I was only credited $570 per my home warranty (other incentives were applied but they were explained to me as separate from the home warranty). Over the last three weeks I have gone back and forth trying to get a clear explanation of my bill and why I did not receive more for having a home warranty. Service One had no record of there even being an issue with my AC. It took all the way up to the co-owner of the company to properly explain my invoice. I was explained that a $1000 R-22 replacement incentive was applied instead of any credits from my home warranty for the AC replacement. However others I know received this same incentive through different companies without a home warranty. I don't think Service One was trying to take advantage of me but the entire process has been smoke and mirrors with nobody being able to provide accurate answers related to my invoice and home warranty credits. A simple itemized receipt or clear explanation from the beginning could have saved countless hours of my time and a poor review. Overall I don't think I received the value I was entitled to for having a home warranty with Service One and other unrelated incentives were used to justify it. read more

Will not use them again. They only get 2 stars (instead of one) due to quick service and excellent customer service response time. However, I believe their business ethics to be lacking significantly. A tech came and inspected my furnace. Told me he knew exactly what the problem is and could fix it with labor only, no parts. I asked how much it would cost and he said "It takes about 2 hours so $170." I thought, okay, I'll pay $170 for 2 hours worth of work. He then completed the work in a half hour and still charged $170. The accounting department said it must have been a flat fee type of work so I'm stuck with it. Well, if it's a flat fee then THAT is what you tell the customer. You don't say "about 2 hours SO $170" because that obviously implies you are paying for 2 hours worth of work. Had I been told it was 30 minutes of labor, I would NOT have agreed to $170. read more

We paid for a home warranty from service one for the buyers of our home.the home inspector said our water heater was fine, but just because it needed a pipe replaced , service one told the buyers , tell them to buy you a new water heater. Sure, why not if they can make us buy a new so they don't have to worry about fixing it. They found entry wrong for us to fix. Can't fix my water heater because it's just old and terrible and doesn't provide enough hot water for more than one person to take a shower. And it's not leaking, which is the only way serviceNONE would replace it. So you take BOTH of my $80 deductibles and leave me with no improvement whatsoever. That seems fair. They cancelled a service at the last minute, and then would not reschedule me for over two weeks later. Got the home warranty from Serviceone as part of home inspection. When I moved in the new house I had major leaking. Called them. Immediately they tried every excuse to find exclusions and charge me. Had to fight quite a bit. They came out 3 times. Leak is still there. People on the phone's only concern is to find a way to get out of having to do the job under the plan. And of course they tried to say that each call was separate and charge me for the deductible again. Had to fight each time. Wasted three days after them, since they didn't give me a time when they would come out. And if you miss their call when they eventually come out, they cancel and you need to reschedule. So be prepared to spend your day next to your phone waiting for their call, while your home leaks. End of story, leak is still there after 3 visits from serviceone. T&Cs are in such way that the repairs needed are not covered. They say, pipes that need replaced because old are not covered... so what the heck is the point of having an inspection and a home warranty when you buy? Thank you very much for not resolving my problem and being pretty much useless and wasting my time. End of story, I am getting my own plumber to fix the problem. read more

After 13+ years with ServiceOne we ended our home service contract earlier this year. For the vast majority of those years, we almost never required service. When we began to have issues with our AC and then with our stove, the true colors of ServiceOne came out. As in another review I just saw, every time we called it was several days if not more than a week out before they could schedule a fix. Even when the temperature was around 100 degrees during two of the incidents, they weren't able to help for days. In one of those scenarios we called another company and paid them to come out. In the end it seemed that the reoccurring AC issues were due to the wrong parts being used, not a proper fit so would fail again. The stove situation was similar in that the first technicians that came out replaced the board I believe and then later the temperature sensors because it wasn't heating properly, which was not the original issue. After about the third attempt a more thorough technician came out, called the manufacturer, and found out that the temperature sensor that was replaced had to be replaced with the exact manufacturer part. That part was now no longer available after more than 6 months of this back and forth. The last technician was excellent and did come back another time to try his best to get the stove working properly. In the end I stopped trying and we ended the service agreement. Overall it was a very unfortunate experience. I wish we had originally chosen a more reputable and customer oriented home service company over 13 years ago in which to establish this business relationship. read more

We had Randy come out for a yearly maintenance check and had zero issues, he was friendly and kept us informed and explained the issues that he found with our AC unit (there were none). Upon his leaving, our AC unit quit working. Since it was after hours, we called at 7am the next morning to speak with someone about having it fixed - funny how our AC was working until 15 minutes after the technician left - and we were told no one would be able to show up for 9 days. NINE DAYS. Did I mention its 95 degrees out? We were treated horribly by customer service, especially Alicia and manager Kate. After expressing our frustration, we were told how 'lucky' we were that they were working with us. I have never experienced such disrespect from a company and am currently sitting in a home without AC with small children since ServiceOne won't come out to fix their problem. I have been very pleased with the SERVICE One employees who have fixed appliances and plumbing in my house. It is management which deserves the poor rating. Over the course of the past three years I've had management tell me twice that during extraordinary weather conditions we can't have an employee there for multiple days. The first time my a/c fan motor went out on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend. Service One could not make it out until the following Wednesday. Wichita Heating and Cooling made it out the same afternoon and had my a/c running that evening. Out of pocket cost $450. Reimbursement from Service One 00. Recently my a/c went out--it needed freon. Service One said it would take 8 days to fix. Wichita was here in less than 48 hours. Out of pocket cost for 4lbs of freon $280. Reimbursement from Service One 00. Service One seems to think when there are extraordinary weather conditions, it is the customer who should suck it up. It should not be the customer to bare the burden, Service One should prepare for contingencies like this and ramp up with additional help. I paid Service One almost $600/yr as a retainer to fix problems. The two instances above cost me over $700, and of course there was no reimbursement from Service One. I no longer have Service One as my home warranty company. They are not timely and are not considerate of their customers. The fact that my wife and I are senior citizens had no impact on their ability to service us in a timely manner. I could go on about the washing machine that they wouldn't fix, but that is for another tiime. read more

I would never recommend Service One to any family or friends of mine. We purchased a 1 year home warranty with service one when we bought our first home. To start off, we paid for service one to do an in depth inspection on the furnace in the house we were considering buying since a normal home inspection does not cover much regarding the furnace. The in depth inspection came back saying the furnace was working good but needed a cleaning. We went ahead and purchased the home. After moving in, service one came out for a cleaning ($75 fee) and we were told that our furnace does not work and needs replaced. Being first time home buyers and not expecting this, we were furious. Service one did our furnace inspection and said it was fine not even a month ago. Thankfully we had the paperwork showing that and came to an agreement on a replacement furnace option since their technician basically lied when saying he tested all the parts but didn't. Next problem.. We had our furnace replaced a month later and that day and the technician threw away our working humidier that was attached to the old furnace when they took it away. Therefore, the company agreed to replace it for free (as they should). This was in June so we were not using the furnace/humidifier at that time. Next problem.. When the winter months came, we realized the humidifier they installed did not work. Service One has refused to come back to fix this for free as it was their mistake in installation. Next problem.. We had a leak in our plumbing and called service one to come out and look at it. The technician said it was a problem with the main stack but it wouldn't be covered cause that's not part of their warranty plan. Therefore we had another plumbing company come out to find out the problem was not involving the main stack at all so we wasted money having a second company look at it when service one could have fixed it. Next problem.. We had service one come out to look at our leaking water heater. The technician told us within a few minutes of being at the house that the leaking was normal and doesn't need fixed. He left within 5 minutes and we had to pay $75 for the fee. We again had to have a second company come look at it to find out there was a problem with the pipe connected to the water heater. Overall, everytime service one came to our house they either messed something up/were wrong about their diagnosis/or lied to us. The company is not honest or reputable at all. I have called to speak with them about our problems but got nowhere. From one home owner to another- do not use service one! read more
