Stanley Steemer Carpet Cleaning…read more Don't hire them!! They cleaned three 12-14'x14' rooms and cost us more than new carpet. Bill ended up three times the original order. When I questioned it and said I didn't want to pay for things I didn't know I was being charged for, the worker Taylor called me a liar. Said I knew about the extra charges. Called the St Cloud office, the lady listened but was unable to explain or assist me with the billing concern. Stated she would have the worker Taylor call me. Taylor called said if I didn't pay he would call the sheriff and have me arrested. Said he didn't know there were people like me in the world, I was such a thief. He yelled and talked over me. Wouldn't let me explain my concern. Repeated derogatory comments about my character and kept threatening me with legal action. I felt very threatened. So be warned....Stay away from Stanley Steamer Carpet Cleaner.

I first heard of this company years ago on the radio, but my friend recently told me about them and…read morethe great service they provide as her family and friends have used them in the past. I recently moved into my new place and wanted the carpet cleaned. Our entry stairs are the only carpeted area and they took a beating to all the trips bringing inside. I knew I wanted to get them professionally cleaned, and I ended up going with my friend's suggestion. It was easy to schedule via chat. Just like Comcast, you pick a day and schedule a 4 hour window. I saw a deal online for 2 bedrooms for $99. Since I only have carpet on the 14 stairs, that's all I was interested in having cleaned. They charge $5 per stair and since that didn't exceed $99, I opted to add the carpet protection (around $40). There's a $25 service fee added to the process too. I ended up spending about $140. Ernesto was the cleaner that showed up on the desired date. He called me 20 minutes prior to arrival to give me fair warning. The whole time he was very friendly and informative. He was courteous about where he parked and the whole process maybe took about 30-40 minutes. He let me know when he was done and it was a very easy process. I would book them in the future when needed.

OK, this review is not regarding their actual cleaning methods because after waiting almost 3 weeks…read morefor their appointment to clean my 2 large wool oriental rugs and a large cotton berber, on the date of the appointment, the owner told me that the only way he would be able to clean them is if I signed a complete waiver regarding his work. Of course, I wasn't going to do that. When I initially answered his wife's very specific questions over the phone - they are a husband and wife team - about the type of rugs I had, she gave me a price and a date that they would be out to complete the work. I had told her that 2 of them were large wool oriental rugs and rested on finished hardwood. She told me that the way they do the job protects both the rugs and the floors. There was NO indication from her that they might not be able to do the work on oriental rugs. Upon arriving, 3 weeks later, the owner tells me that they may need to be dipped to potentially prevent any dyes from running. That was before he even saw the rugs. After seeing them he said he wasn't sure what kind of dyes they were ... but if I signed the waiver he would proceed. I was in a time bind but still refused to sign the waiver. I had visitors arriving from out of town in 11 days. He said that if I didn't sign the waiver I needed to call someone else to have them dipped (he had no idea who dipped them). This company's phone estimates are worthless and a significant amount of time is lost if you wait for them to come out to "do the work." If they had done a true estimate - coming out and actually looking at the rugs for the 10 minutes the guy was here, I would have known what was required of them to do the work. Then I would have skipped their company and immediately looked elsewhere. But hey, not to worry, the guy apologized and that makes everything OK, right? What you do with this knowledge is up to you.
