I got my brakes fixed 3 or 4 weeks ago and they still squeal. I took it back to them to check out. I was met by a very confrontational General Manger who did not want to check to see if it was because of installation. He quoted that it is normal for fairly new pads. He did not want to put it on a rack and check it out. These are the things he could have check other than just saying this is what new breaks do and has to do with the installation of the pads. Brake dust accumulation: Excessive dust between the pads and rotors can cause squealing. A simple cleaning might help. Glazed rotors or pads: If the rotors or pads overheated during installation or early use, they may have developed a smooth, shiny surface that causes noise. Improper lubrication: Brake components like caliper pins or backing plates need proper lubrication. Lack of it can lead to squealing. Stuck caliper pin: A pin that doesn't move freely can cause uneven pad wear and noise. Low-quality pads: Some aftermarket pads are more prone to squealing. Ceramic pads tend to be quieter than metallic ones. The main problem other than him not checking if they were installed correctly. The General Manger was very aggressive. Honestly, I felt UNSAFE by his hostility. I will never go to this placed again. read more

I love this shop! I've been coming here for many years; they know me when I walk in. They are honest, kind, and reasonably priced for most services. I especially love their oil change packages and emissions services. As a woman I feel they treat me with respect, and that means everything. My sister and I usually do the brakes on our vehicles, but when we get too busy I bring mine here, and they do a great job. I feel like negative reviews often stem from unreasonable expectations, so I would not let those deter you from trying this shop if you need car help - just do your own research first and communicate clearly with staff for best results, and that goes for any shop you use! read more

Well, I didn't expect that! It seems like just getting a tire patched is a big deal because the mom and pops have all disappeared. I didn't read the Yelp review until I was in the lobby and the guy at the desk had driven my truck onto the lift. I didn't get a quote, so I was thinking that he might repair it and then tell me the price. But that wasn't the case. He came back after 15 minutes and said, "Sir, you're good to go." I was confused and asked how much it would be. He just said "Just give us a good rating." Apparently ratings get things done. And for paying attention to ratings and doing the right thing, they have won me over (for now). I had been here before because I knocked a mirror off of my truck. The estimate for the part alone was ridiculous, so I ordered a new mirror online and watched a YB video. So, maybe they're making a new start. "I'll be back". read more

*** Customer Beware of the Bait Switch*** What a rip-off Service Street is I called and asked if they could perform a transmission flush on my Tundra. They responded, yes, bring your truck in, and we'll do it. I get to the location in Marietta and again ask if it will be a transmission flush as I wanted all the original transmission fluid flushed/changed with Amsoil Signature fluid that I provided 4.5 gallons of. I knew 4.5 gallons was more than ample as the entire fluid flush takes a little over 12 qt or 3 gallons. In addition to the transmission fluid I provided, I also provided a new transmission gasket, transmission filter, and O-ring. Again, they responded with yes on the flush. I then told them the fluid and gasket were in the back of my truck. I was quoted $219 plus tax for the work. Four hours later, I received a call, and they informed me that it would be $100 extra as I had a four-bolt transmission skid plate that needed to be removed and reinstalled. I approved that. Approximately ~2 hours later, they called and said it was ready. I got to the service center, and the bill was $361.04. I then asked for the remaining trans fluid and expected there to be around four quarts left over. Instead, there were 12 quarts/ 3 gallons. I told them they did not do a flush as they said they would. Then they told me that there was no way to get all the fluid out; I said a flush does just that all the fluid is flushed and replaced. Basically, I told them they did a basic drain and fill and that cost me $361 bucks. They then provided their instructions on transmission fluid replacement, and after reading it, I questioned whether they even used the new gasket and filter I provided them as their instruction clearly stated, "Reuse the old gasket." DISHONEST! (Marietta location) I recently had my REAR brakes replaced here, so I was confused when I heard sounds like they were worn ONLY 20k miles later (normally brakes last 40k+). I brought my car back for them to inspect and they told me they would warranty the brakes IF I let them replace the FRONT as well, because "both front and back brakes are worn and scoring the rotors, and needed replacement." I was confused because I replaced the front brakes myself 9 months AFTER they had replaced the back. When I asked, the guy told me it was because "this car model brakes harder in front, so they wear down faster." They quoted nearly $600 for the front brakes and would comp/warranty the back (IF I let them do the front). I am glad I decided to sleep on it because the following weekend I removed the wheels and checked the brakes myself. The back brakes that Service Street recently replaced were completely worn and metal on metal on one side heavily scoring the rotor. Strange that they were so prematurely worn but it was as I was told. BUT the front brakes and rotors were perfectly fine with at least 60% of their life left; this is completely contrary to what Service Street told me. Long story short, their "professional" brake job didn't last half as long as expected. And when I came back, they lied to me about the condition of my vehicle and solicited for more money. I spent nearly 30 years in the automotive repair industry as a GM and corporate trainer before retiring and had become concerned over the lack of quality facilities in my area. Well I've found them. I base this on several visits to this facility and the service I've recieved each and every time. Spacious clean and comfortable on the inside. I went to 3700 Dallas Highway service Street which is the Marietta location and ask if they would replace the high Port valve on my AC system because it was stuck in the open position. They blatantly lied and said that that high valve port couldn't be replaced that I had to replace the whole line and the orifice and they were going to charge me $426 In my opinion the service Street 3700 Dallas Highway are hard up and looking for a sucker the walk through the door. I went to another mechanic and had the valve replaced for a hundred and twenty bucks. Which included a vacuum down and recharge. read more

I came in to get a diagnostic done because my engine overheating light came on twice while driving. Guy at the counter told me 30 minutes. It took them 2 hours and 20 minutes. I was able to read through all these reviews while I waited. They finally gave me my keys and told me nothing was wrong. I asked why it took two hours to figure that out and the guy at the counter passive-aggressively says, "we'll I could just charge you for this" Super rude and a waste of 2.5 hours of my life. Worst place ever to get your car fixed. I'm a 46 year old woman that doesn't know about cars or parts. I was completely raped by this place over an o2 sensor. Then treated like a dumb girl when I complained about the pricing. On top of it my truck was returned with grease in the carpet and door. I will never return. He was responsive, polite, and he offered me a great discount on an oil change package that my whole family could use. They serviced my vehicle the same day I called and it only took about 45 minutes to do an oil change and tire rotation. Drove car in to have DIAGNOSED for some noise possibly being my clutch fan, but not sure. Turns out from the shop DIAGNOSES it's that and the fan. To repair is 979.92. Left and went to dealership to get parts and took to another affordable shop. Told this place to put these parts on because I was told they were going bad. Well, after installing the parts I was told the problem is my alternator. No need to share my feelings with you! Keep driving by this place if you don't want to be took! I took my wifes car in for a brake inspection. They told us that she needed new brake pads and rotors, both front and rear... We weren't sure if they were being honest. The car's brakes had just begun to squeal so it didn't seem plausible. We then took her car down to another place. They told us it only needed front brake pads. So we had them replaced. We then went on vacation abroad and returned two weeks later. When we drove her car, the brakes were still squealing. We took it back to the place who said it only needed front brake pads. NOW, they were telling me the back pads and rotors needed replacing...Turns out, Service Street was giving us a proper quote and had done a thorough job. It's hard to know who to trust when it comes to such matters. Even getting a second opinion could lead you to the wrong conclusion...Thanks, Service Street for giving us an honest assessment, but perhaps the delivery of such a shocking quote (almost $1000) to the customer could be improved upon. read more

We were assured that our car would be finished in 2 days. That was Oct. 2nd it's Nov. 12th. They have had our car for a total of 16 days,. Sure they gave it back to us in between those days 3 times. But after not replacing the insulation, Car Bluetooth not working( Tech said it had to her phone but it works fine on the rental), Molding hanging off, and not fixing the repair they were hired to do. At a 2k amount. Oh yeah, also broke her phone holder. We were told they found the problem. Guess what they broke a part of the car while trying to fix the original repair. After another false promise of it being ready today, Kyle their employee told my wife she wasn't patient. Please see the date above. I DO NOT RECOMMEND going near this place! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! THESE GUYS ARE PROFESSIONAL SCAM ARTISTS!!! I took my car in for an oil change and was told that my front brake pads were almost "metal on metal" and that I needed them changed ASAP as it was unsafe to drive with them in this condition. Well, I took my car to my trusted mechanics and told them that I was told my front brake pads were almost metal on metal. They called me back and told me that my front pads still had 6mm left on them!! That's 50% of the brakes life for those not well versed in car lingo!! They tried to charge me an extra $200+ for something that was absolutely unneeded! This shop is an absolute scam and I would give them negative stars if possible. They prey on people that do not know much about cars and hope that they will take the bait. I have taken my car's here for oil changes at least 10 times and every single damn time they come back into the room and say "Oh by the way you need this that and the other immediately!!" They should be shut down, they are the most dishonest shop I have ever encountered. When I called and confronted them about this, the General Manager told me that he had no records of any other services being recommended to me, I call total BS on that. On a previous visit with my BMW for an oil change, they didn't even screw my oil cap back on all the way and I got a light about a mile down the street.. I was gonna let that one slide but they crossed the line this time. This place is a sheer money grab operation that no one should trust their automobiles at. Took my car in due to the tire loosing air , they told me it would be an hour . I came back in an hour and was told they could not locate the leak but they replaced the air in the tire . I went to my car and it had the same amount of air . They then told must must have already leaked out . I then found a giant screw in the tire which I pointed out . The only positive was they did not charge me . On a prior occasion during an oil change they told me my oil pan was broken and "may need replacement ". I told them to stop the oil change and I wanted my car back . They then told me that they mixed up the cars and it was not mine it was someone else's . I've been to this location twice for an oil change. The visits were only about 2 weeks apart as I first brought in my Prius and then the family VW station wagon. What led me to my first visit was a mailer I received with a coupon for an oil change plus a 'get ready for summer' check that would include a review of a number of important things on the car (like brakes for instance) plus free windshield wipers. Seeing as how I'd just had another baby I wanted to take advantage of the savings. On both of my visits the two gentlemen operating the front were courteous and friendly, and straight-forward about the amount of time I could expect to have to wait. I was told up front on my first visit that they may not have the windshield wipers in stock which were needed on the 2006 Prius, but they said they'd give me the discounted oil change price instead which was part of a different promo. That was all well and good, particularly since they told me that right off the bat and offered me a lower price point in lieu of free wipers. However, when the car was ready I did not get the run-down on the health of the car like I had expected since I had come in specifically hoping for that 'get ready for summer' check, and when I got in the car there was no windshield sticker to tell me when my next oil change should be. I've had to make a note-to-self so as not to forget. Despite these minor errors I still brought in the other car for an oil change assuming they could have been flukes. I got a synthetic oil change on my second visit and this time I did get a windshield sticker, but apparently someone can't math very well because they had added 7,000 miles to the odometer reading on it, rather than the 6,000 they were supposed to. Additionally, the service tech who brought my car around appeared to be a little out of it making me feel like maybe everyone there doesn't take their job as seriously as others. All in all, the little things added up, and because I've had better experiences at a different place close to my office I will continue to bring my cars there once I return to work. read more

In two words: Dishonest Thieves Do not trust these people. Get someone rated on repairpal.com if you need work done. This place is one of those crooked businesses where you go in needing an oil change and new wipers, then they try to scare you into getting a new transmission. My personal experience is that they charged as much as twice what other mechanics do for the same services, they don't honor their warranties and most importantly, they lie about what they did and what is wrong. They gave me a bad power steering pump and would not replace it. Claiming fluid was dumping from the system so it must be something else. They even "showed" me where it was coming from. (They poked a hole in the boot and must have poured fluid inside). The reason I know this: I had topped off the fluid level a week before, it wasn't just close, it was at the exact spot where I filled it (about a half inch over the full line). Pretty odd for a mechanic to overfill anything. So I kept an eye on it afterwards. Shockingly, no fluid has come out of there since. To try to get me to do $2000 more in repairs, they told me when I brought it in initially that the fluid level was almost empty, that they refilled it and and that if I didn't do the repairs that day I would burn out the pump and repairs would cost more. I haven't needed to add fluid since. It's been more than six months. During all this I took it to another mechanic who confirmed my suspicions, they had lied, pump was bad and the other repair was not needed. Don't trust them to do it, can't make them, don't want to pay for another one, so my power steering whines in parking lots. read more

Nothing drives me crazier than shops that try to upsale everything. Service Street didn't do that. They were straight forward, they addressed the issue, did the repair and were great. I've been using Service Street Auto for little over 4 years for oil changes and alignments on multiple vehicles (I live about 45 minutes away from the shop and I pass quite a few auto shops along the way). Last year, I bought a used vehicle and brought it to Service Street for an alignment. They pointed out that the front end needed replacing due to wear and tear and quoted roughly $1,900 to replace the inner and outer tie rods, lower ball joints,upper control arms, and in the same sentence told me if I came back on a different day when it wasn't busy they would work on the price some. I used to work at an auto shop and decided to replace the components myself after being told by multiple employees of Service Street that they are higher priced then the dealerships. After the repairs were made, I took the vehicle back to have it properly and fully aligned. When asked if I had the repairs done,I told them "yes, and that it needed a Thrust alignment not just the toe adjusted" they said, "no problem." I also purchased a (5)pack of oil changes from Service Street as I always do. After the work was performed, the alignment wasn't spot on. I was in a rush to get to work so I didn't bother bringing the vehicle back. Roughly 2k miles later I took the vehicle back to Service Street and paid to have another alignment performed. After this alignment was performed, the steering wheel was not centered, and I had to bring the vehicle back to get it corrected. I have driven the vehicle another 2k miles and now the upper control arm is so loose, I can grab the tire with the car on the ground and move the entire assembly by shaking it. I called Service Street and asked if it's covered under warranty (I am assuming that they are preforming a full and proper alignment each time) I am informed that it will not be warrantied due to pot holes, curbs, and such. I say, "That's fine, I still need an alignment." and I brought the vehicle back to Service Street. They quoted me an additional $75 to tighten the control arm when that's SUPPOSED to be part of the alignment. At this point, I've already paid for two alignments and they are not providing a full alignment so, I decline the service and ask for my vehicle back along with a PRORATED refund for the unused oil changes I have paid for but haven't used. I am told, "We cannot do anything in store, and you have to contact corporate." I ask to speak to the manager, and I am told "one is not present." I ask for the corporate number and am told,"There isn't one" and I am given an email address. I leave the shop and look up the corporate information online and behold, there is a phone number. I sent an email, called the phone number, left a message, and was contacted roughly 20-30 minutes later. I attempt to explain the situation to the manager on the phone and I am told "Well, you replaced the components yourself and any other shop would just do the alignment and not address the loose control arm." I am baffled as that's exactly what they have done twice already. I ask if the person I am speaking to is local, not knowing if they are familiar with the shop I have been getting service at, and I informed him that I'm waiting on a phone call from corporate.His response is, "I AM CORPORATE, and if you want to come back up to the shop, we can finish the conversation in person." He says, "We will not refund the money for services that youhave already paid for that haven't been done because it's a promotion." They have offered this "Promotion" of an oil change (5) pack since I became a customer over 4 years ago and I am not asking for the entire amount refunded because I have already used one of the oil changes. I am only asking for the value of the services yet rendered. I have put 7 calls into "corporate" since then and each time I have stated I am trying to let them handle it "in house" and each time I am told that I will be contacted but it does not happen. So, after 4 years of being a customer, I have zero faith and even less trust in the company to ever touch my vehicles again. My words of advice is, if you consider using Service Street in Marietta, be ready to over pay for services, not receive the full service for which you paid, never be contacted in the event of an issue, and if you decide to quit using them not to expect any type of refund for prepaid and unused services. read more

This is the single most horrible experience we have ever had with an auto maintenance issue. We went in for an oil change a few months ago, and the next day the skid plate fell off. They had screwed the screws too far and cracked the plate. A manager came to our house, checked it, promised a new part by Monday (it was Friday). No work for weeks. During that time, we called several times to check on the plate. We were told each time that it had to be specially made for the car (lie #1). Then when I finally called and conveyed my anger, the guy told me my husband had promised to bring the car in (lie #2) so they could look at the exact part they needed. I told him someone had already been to our house to look at it. Then we took the car in anyway, because we wanted this done, and they ordered the part. It finally arrived (of course, they didn't let us know it was in - we have had to initiate all contact) and they put in on. Now we're about three months past the oil change. Guess what? The thing is broken again. My husband realized that they had broken a fixed part on the car in the process of replacing the plate one of the two time. Now my husband is in the shop getting them to look at it again, and they 1) complained about how much of their own money they have to spend on our car 2) decided that they are going to zip tie the part to our car!!!!!! Have you ever heard of a car repair place using zip ties to "fix" something? 3) told my husband he is just running over something over and over (lie #3)! I overheard that last one while I was on the phone with him. This is the most unprofessional, careless, rude, dishonest company I have ever dealt with. I'm honestly in shock how this place is still in business. Please, if you have had a bad experience here, share yours as well so that the public can be warned. I just got back from getting my oil changed at Service Street in west Marietta. I took their coupon in for a $19.95 oil change but was told that it did not apply for synthetic oil, but I would get $10 off the price of the oil with the coupon. I said OK since it normally costs me $38 for an oil change at my dealer. When I got my bill I was shocked. The total was $67 FOR AN OIL CHANGE which included $9.39 per quart of synthetic oil. When I spoke with the attendant, he said I would get that pricing if I bought a "5 pack". Seriously disappointed in this bait and switch.
