I'm gonna start off by saying if you just need an oil change this is a nice place to go. And the guys that work there are good dudes. But they quote ridiculous amounts for every little thing. They quote stuff that does not need to be done and if you're not smart enough to get a second opinion, you can really get screwed over. They told me my front brakes were shot and it would cost $600. I took it to a brake specialist. He said I have 50% of my brake left and no issues with the rotors. I declined the service and went elsewhere to find out not only were none of my tires at 3mm, but the rear tires were also over 6mm and not in need of replacement at all. Front tires at over 4mm. Took my wife's Toyota to Service Street at Southlands after it failed to start -- we suspected a dead battery. The staff were polite and professional, and they recommended a diagnostic, which we agreed to. A couple of hours later, they told my wife it was a "bad alternator" and quoted nearly $2,000 for the repair. She decided against the repair and wanted to get a second opinion. We took the vehicle to Toy Car Care in Centennial. Their team was honest, customer-focused, and also ran a diagnostic -- but they zeroed in on the battery first. They quickly discovered the real issue: the battery wouldn't hold a charge. No alternator problem. We had the battery replaced and were back on the road in just over an hour -- all at a fraction of the original quote. While Service Street staff weren't rude or disrespectful, they definitely reached the wrong conclusion and it felt like they were trying to upsell an unnecessary repair. Southlands neighbors: I strongly recommend getting a second opinion when faced with a costly diagnosis. It could save you hundreds, if not thousands. read more

They saw us coming. A homeless kid who spent his tax refund on a car. A 71-year-old grandmother who wanted to help him. First time we went to Service Street in Thornton, we paid $2,086.36 with the promise that the car would get him around until he had time to get more work done on it. The car broke down in two days! Too far for us to pay for a tow so we were told that we could tow it to the Service Street in Aurora. We did. Another $1,725.78 was paid to fix it. Broke down again. Service Street in Thornton had it towed to them. Now they are saying $1,941.56. Grandmother has no more money and they will probably keep the car because we can't pay to fix it. We have spent almost $4,000 for NOTHING. Apparently all the Service Street locations are in cahoots. Do not go here. They are crooks. read more

*** WARNING *** Scam alert!!! Do not go here! I went in for an oil change and then they flat-out lied to me about needing a brake job. They said the brake pads were dangerously low at 2-3mm. The quote was 2-3 times what other shops were charging. Thank goodness I got a 2nd and 3rd opinion that reported the brakes were safe at 6-8mm. Additionally, they said that the quote would not be valid if I drove away, as the brake pads were too low to be safe. Classic scam. Additionally, when I confronted them about it, they tried blaming their technician and did nothing to make it right. They tried charging me $40 for an oil filler cap ($6 on Amazon) and $40 for an air filter, which they said was dirty (I had replaced it a month ago). The moral of the story - always get a second opinion. I will never be going back there. read more

Took advantage of my elderly mother-in-law who had to tow a car in knowing that she was in a bind and needed the car right away. Quoted $1600 for new alternator and oil change? How can that be when book time is one hour and the cost of the OEM Denso part is only $250? Is your hourly rate $500??? Even the retail rate for the new alternator is $650. Nothing adds up to $1600!!! My appointment was made for coolant service. I did not sign up for a trashed car and broken visor. One star because their prices are very competitive but the service staff don't take care of your car. My interior was riddled with oiled finger and palm prints on the cloth interior and many places that made me question "Why?" My drivers side visor is broken and the mirror is falling off. Needless to say i am pissed. I take extra care of my Jeep and the condition it was returned to me was pretty pathetic. If I could give 0 stars I would! This company is a ripoff!! Brought my daughters car in for the "free" inspection on warning lights. Quickly the free inspection became a $200 diagnostic charge. I asked if the diagnostic charge would be applied to the final charges if we fix the car with Services Street in initially was told yes. When I received the repair estimate all of a sudden this bill had gone up from just a free diagnostic all the way to over $2000 to replace a sensor in the engine crankshaft. The part was less than $200. However the labor was going to be over $1700 and when I asked why I was told that it will take approximately 8 to 10 hours to take everything apart even to get to where the sensor is located. I then asked if the $200 was going to be credited to the actual services and was told no this time by someone else that answered the phone. When I mentioned that I was told that it would, then they had to go ask around to see who told me that, making me feel like they were accusing me of lying about what I was told when I was in the store. Initially, I was gonna go ahead and do the repairs, but decided to call around and ask other automotive service places how much to repair would be based on the estimate that I was given from Service Street. All three locations that I called all stated that they believe that service street was seriously inflating the cost of the labor and even one said, maybe they made a mistake on how much and wrote the wrong amount down. All three of them received a copy of the estimate so they could make sure they were getting the right part and every last one of them came back less than $300 for parts and labor , stating there is no way it would take eight hours , and it doesn't even need to be broke down that this could be done in two hours or less. I am almost 100% positive that this was caused by the fact that they saw three women coming in (myself and my two teenage daughters) and took advantage of the fact thinking that I would not be smart enough to check around and make sure I was getting the best estimate for these repairs! Upon return to the store, we ended up spending $225 for a diagnostic test which is absolutely ridiculous! Based upon the fact that most places do a diagnostic test for $100 or less or I could've taken it to an auto parts store and let them put it on and do a diagnostic and it would've been free. The estimate prices provided are inflated tremendously. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as Service Street Corporate office regarding this. I am also demanding a full refund of the diagnostic as we were definitely taken advantage of. I will never use your company again . I am glad I did my research or I would've been out of almost $2300 for something that should be less than $300 to repair. read more

We were passing through aurora on our way to a party in Denver when we heard an issue with our brakes. It was about 4:30 on a Saturday evening and did not have many options to get the brakes repaired. We made it clear this was a bit of an emergency since we didnt feel safe driving the vehicle and had a 2 hour drive home. They charged us $1,500 to get our front brake pads, rotors, and calipers changed. After some research, we quickly found out that the going rate for a full front and back brake replacement of pads, rotors, and calipers was around $500-1000 and they were charging us $1,500 for only the front brakes. They had availability for us, got the job done before they closed, and had all the parts in stock. I am grateful they were available however, I feel like we were taken advantage of due to our situation of needing the job done that evening. We have a 2014 Suburu Forrester so its not like we have an expensive car that requires special parts. The people at the desk were friendly but that does not excuse the pricing. Stay away. I took my car in for a knocking sound underneath the vehicle. Service Street diagnosed the vehicle and told me the noise was my tire rod. They completed the repair. Once I paid and picked up the vehicle it was making the same noise as I pulled out of the parking lot. I took the vehicle back and talked with Todd. Waste of $300. Thereafter, took my vehicle Les Schwab. It was correctly diagnosed and the sway bar was fixed within a couple of hours. Les Schwab quickly did the repair. read more

One of my fleet trucks had a noisy bearing in the axle , not having time to fix it I took it to service Street. They told me it would be $200 to look at it which we both agreed was a ridiculous price to merely Jack a truck up and spin the wheel. We laughed and he told me they would apply it towards the repair and he would make the charge disappear so I agreed. They called me 7 hours later and told me it would cost $12,000 , this is a $5,000 work truck from 1998. They admitted they didn't know a lot about diesels but I was willing to have them at least check it out. Three days later, they quoted me a repair price of $1100 dollars, parts and labor. My alternator went out and I rolled into this location around 6am, the door said the lobby wouldn't open until 7am, but Ammond was already there about an hour early willing to help. Had a full service on my Jeep after transmission started acting up, first they told me that 9 check engine lights went off. Then after leaving it with them, they told me only one little vent in the bumper needed to be replaced and would cost $1300. I didn't go for that. I can do that myself for FAR cheaper. Next thing I know I am breaking down on the side of the road, and car won't start. This is the only place I take my vehicle. Zack is why I started coming here but all the guys there are friendly. I get my 4Runner serviced there because they are fast and take care of my vehicle. Normally I leave it there but the other day I waited and it was FAST! I think what impressed me most was when my teen daughter was having problems with her car and I was too far away to help. I told her to take it in and ask them to look at it. They took a look at it drive it around and asked questions about the issue. It was a simple fix and she was on her way. Another time she went in because of a cosmetic issue that was bothering her. Again they helped her and she wasn't charged. Took my car to get is taillight replaced. I bought the part so they only charged me $60 for labor. An hour in the owner calls me to look at my car and its on a lift for no reason because I had never asked for them to look at my car. Then all of a sudden im being told I need to pay over a $1000 to fix my car or else all my oil will leak out. Overcharged me $200 for a solenoid thats "premium quality" when in reality the part costs $40-$60 anywhere u would go. When I confronted him about it he got defensive and became disrespectful. He stated "When you go to Mcdonalds do you ask them how much u pay for their buns and lettuce. If you wanted to know this you should've looked it up beforehand". Mind you all I asked him was to show me where he bought the piece that costs "$260". Obviously he was lying and never showed me anything but was happy to give me a $15 coupon. On top of everything he even lied to me and told me they filled up my oil. I went home checked my oil level and it was the exact same from when I arrived. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING LIED TO AND RIPPED OFF. My husband went in for a standard oil change several months ago and they supposedly discovered a leak and told him it was for CV axles, which we foolishly believed. $1,500 later, his car was leaking oil in a different location, and we could smell it burning on the manifold. They told us it was for a completely different issue which was another $500 to fix. He took it to a more reputable auto shop for a 2nd opinion, and they confirmed that Service Street put a seal in backwards which was causing the leak. We had to pay $400 for this mistake, and Service Street refused to refund us for their mistake. A couple months later, I needed an oil change for my car and we really didn't want to go to Service Street, but unfortunately we had some oil changes left on our 5-Pack that we needed to use, so I took my vehicle there and Chris told me that my brake pads are on their last leg and could fail any day now, and I need $1,300 in repairs for new pads, rotors, etc. I took my vehicle to Brakes Plus the next day since we no longer have any trust in Service Street given the previous experience there, and Brakes Plus confirmed my brake pads, and rotors are completely fine. Those reading this may have an different opinion on Service Street, but this was my experience and it was not a pleasant, nor cheap one. CONSIDER THIS A PSA! read more

I've taken my car here for 2 major repairs and I have to say I was very pleased with their service both times. The first time I had to get my water pump replaced & I had to leave my vehicle overnight but it was done and ready early the next day. Recently, my starter went out on my car and I didn't take it to service street to replace it, I had a very inexperienced mechanic try to replace it but ultimately they made my car much worse and undriveable so I had to get my car towed to service street. Of course there were other things that also got damaged so this repair took much longer (5 days) to be repaired but I'm truly so grateful for the quality of the work that these people do with my car. I would wait in their lobby and it would never take more than 45 minutes. I just traded in my car and It comes with ten years of maintenance. I had just bought a five pack of oil changes through service street and I still had two left on my previous package. They wouldn't refund me for the new pack I just bought. All they said was "they never expire". I haven't used any of the oil changes on the new pack I just bought so I don't understand why they couldn't refund me. During the oil change the guy working brought me a list of like 4 things my car should (they recommended) needs fixing. I told them they could quote me on those things but I'm not getting anything else done today. They quoted over $1700.00 worth of repairs. I was shocked! I have a friend who's a mechanic on the east coast and I asked him the going rate for a timing belt replacement on a 2010 Honda Accord, it's no where near $1100.00. The part $600 and labor $500. No way! Was not getting any work done there for that price! I do think they had speedy service and was out of there under about 30-40 min for oil change. If you go here, just beware they want to fix other things on your car for triple the price you could probably get it fixed elsewhere (if it really even needs fixed). read more
