Amazing service, great prices. They got me in on short notice on Christmas Eve for brakes and an oil change. The brakes estimate on the phone was 1/2 to 1/3 the price of a repair shop nearer my home. Then, after inspecting the car they told me I had more brake pad left than the other shop told me and I could probably go another 6 months to a year before needing new brakes. Well it was great that they had immediate availability the day of that I checked to get my oil changed, super nice & cool staff members but I deep cleaned my car the next day & noticed there was a tool left on the front of my engine/hood bay part & then once I popped the hood I saw a cap which I'm guessing was from the new oil. Maybe the technicians double checking on getting all the equipment or garbage cleared is a good thing to do before handing the car back over to the customer lol the work tho was good overall no complaints there! read more

I was going to post this review a couple years ago and just saw it sitting here so hopefully it goes through this time. This review is for the Brakes Plus on Smoky Hill just East of 470. I do a lot of basic service myself but have sent others here and gone here for the middle of the road repairs. I usually come in for alignment every 6 months because the roads suck around here but have had other things done to my family cars when I am not around from oil change, brakes, shocks, radiator even a broken drive shaft on my son's car. They always seem friendly and honest. A good sign is when you ask for something to be serviced or replaced and they come back and say you are good for another year or two and don't charge you. That is honesty. Occasionally get it wrong on diagnostic which is hard to do on some things. But in general they are good and I have been coming here for close to 16 years. Major service like timing belts, head gaskets and similar I go to places that specifically work exclusively on that particular car. read more

I came in for an oil change before a road trip. I asked them to check the fluids, brakes, and the rest of the vehicle for anything that might be concerning before a long trip. They performed the oil change and reported that the brakes and fluids were good as is (services they offer). They also found a few significant problems that really needed fixing before the trip. I was skeptical that they were just trying to run up the bill. But they showed me the problems (yep, those need to be fixed before the trip) and said those repairs were too complicated and beyond the scope of their shop. So, basically, they passed on work they could perform because it wasn't needed and found problems they couldn't do that would keep me out of trouble. Isn't this the way a good auto-service shop is supposed to work? Yes, yes, it is. I'll be going back for the services they offer and will trust their judgment on repairs and maintenance. read more

I dislike automobile places who cheat their customers. You expect upselling but not an outright lie. My son's car is old and leaked oil. His dad took it here to be checked and they told him it needed new CV boot and a new oil pan. Well it did need an oil pan but the leak was slight and it's very expensive to replace the oil pan. As for the CV boot, they're brand new. I had just replaced them. I couldn't believe the outright deception of what we needed. I will never go there or recommend them. Beware of their lies. I've gone twice now to this brakes plus and each time I've been sitting at the shop waiting for over 2 hours for my vehicle. Today I had an appointment for 11am, they said they had a few cars already in the bays but they'll get with my vehicle soon. They didn't pull my vehicle back until 12:04 and I didn't leave the shop until after 1:30pm. The time before that, I had an appointment for my girlfriend's vehicle for 10am and they didn't bring it back until 11:15a and I didn't leave the shop until 12:30. What's the point of having an appointment when you still have to wait over 2 hours for your vehicle. read more

I took my 328 Xi in to have my oil pan gasket replaced. Well apparently the this Brakes Plus replaced my valve cover gasket instead the oil pan gasket even though the work agreed upon and my receipt states the oil pan gasket was replaced. I get my car home and oil is still leaking. I take it back and the manager tells me they did not actually work on my oil pan but replaced the valve cover gasket this was never mentioned to me. So after some back and forth they said they would do the work and just charge me for the parts ( a new oil pan gasket and new oil pan). This is where it gets crazy. They do the work and call me and state that there is something wrong and my car is not running properly. They told me I had to take to a BMW repair shop. Really? So I take my car which is barley running to a garage that specializes in BMWs. Within 2 minutes they see the first problem. They did not install the upper drain plug on the new oil pan. How oil did not leak out everywhere is beyond me and my car was losing vacuum. Then the car was still not running properly they saw the ignition coil for the 4th cylinder was not connected. That took another 2 minutes to figure out. A week later my car was barely running again so I went back to the BMW garage and that is where I discovered all 6 ignition coils were not connected properly when Brakes Plus mechanic changed the valve cover gasket. At first it seemed the manager at Brakes Plus was going to do the right thing and refund me the charge for getting the corrections done in which I cannot believe they did not see this when they sent me to another garage. I was also promised a full refund for the work. This never happened and now the manager is stating that I was never promised a refund, when I was told in person that they would. Keep in mind they performed to major repairs and they messed up both jobs. The level of incompetency is crazy! They could not put the car back together properly when the changed the valve cover gasket and did not put in the drain plug when installing the new oil pan. How could a mechanic working on your car not see that but another see it in like 2 minutes? Now I was told they were not going to refund me until I threatened to come on here and post a review. I left a message for corporate and never got a response from them. The manager is now saying I have to take every receipt to them and maybe get a refund in 6 weeks. I learned a valuable lesson and warn you to let them repair your car at your own risk. The BMW garage owner could not believe a garage would miss such simple things. Imagine a garage telling you to come get your car and go to another repair shop to fix because they could not even figure what they did wrong while repairing it. read more

The problem continued. I took my car to a different place for a tune up and they said "I bet your breaks are always squeakin?" This Brakes Plus is fantastic. Brought my 2018 VW Tiguan in with a leak coming from a cracked crush plug. I got my oil changed at another place about a month ago, so I was definitely not happy to get another oil change when I didn't need it. Brakes Plus kept the cracked crush plug to show me. I went to this location last month to get an oil change. Within a few days my car started making a ticking noise when prior to this I have not once had issues with my 2015 Toyota Highlander and have always been told it's in excellent condition with only 67,000 miles on it. I took my car back into this location, they looked at it for an hour and said I shouldn't drive it & they would call me the next day but I never received a call. I took it into the Toyota dealership who looked at it for 4 days and came to the conclusion it seemed to be dry started by Brakes plus during my oil change which resulted in $10,500 of repairs. They suggested I call Brakes Plus to inquire about video footage from my appointment. I called 3 times and was passed to a manager that said she would contact corporate & call back but yet again today no return call. Also not to mention my husband's engine light went on this weekend shortly after also getting an oil charge here. We took it into another shop where they said his oil was extremely overfilled which resulted in a complete new oil change that cost $150. Overall worst experience we have ever had with a simple oil change. I highly suggest you do not take your car here. read more

Had my oil changed at a quick lube place, they came back (as always) and said that I needed new brakes...they even told me that they wouldn't recommend driving, that I could die and it would be $700 to fix (just back brakes). Scheduled immediately with Brakes Plus...30 minutes and a FREE inspection was told there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my brakes and that I didn't need any service at all. Kenneth was amazing and extremely ETHICAL. Highly recommend this place for a second look and brakes if you need them. Came in for a quote for a broken heater core replacement. Would require parts to be shipped in, with a minimum quantity to ship those parts of 5. They secretly tried charging me for all 5 parts, and claimed my radiator cap couldn't hold pressure, when it was the heater core that couldn't hold pressure. Hourly rate quoted at $150/hr. Absurd, I'm sure the hard working guys/gals on the floor see a fraction of that. Overcharging in the front office feels common. Ended up having to pay them $25 for them to tell me what I told them. "Heater core needs replaced." Avoid at all costs. read more

I wanted Oxygen sensors replaced (2)... they cost $34.97 (retail ) and these clowns attempted to charge me....wait for it........$336.99 each. That's a 1000% markup. Spark plugs that cost $14.00 each they would charge $44.78 each. They wanted $2646.69 for repairs! BEWARE ! You have been warned. Check prices on parts and do not trust Brakes Plus. read more

I want to write this review to caution customers about this branch. I had taken my tundra in for a brake check and turns out I needed rotors, brakes, struts and shocks replaced for a grand total of nearly 2200 dollars. I trusted them to do a quality job. I had a big trip coming up for the 4th weekend and my truck had to be in good shape. As I made my way to South Dakota to Mount Rushmore with my 3 kids I started to hear some squeaking, I didn't think too much about it at first because it could just be the new brakes breaking in. Got there in 7 hours, as soon as I got to Custer lake my brakes went out, turns out either the bolt in the brake caliber wasnt fasten tight or they forgot to put one of the two on completely. Caused the brake line to crack. Of course it was the 4th weekend and in a small town like Custer, nothing was open. I would have been stranded with my kids if my family didn't drive the part to me from Denver. I've told management about the matter and they have yet to get ahold of me to compensate the trouble I had to go through. Imagine if the brakes went out while I was on the highway, the danger that they had put me and my kids through. Please be careful if you decide to get service from them. read more
