S & S Lawn Mower & Small Engine Repairs

S & S Lawn Mower & Small Engine Repairs

I had a stubborn lawnmower who would start only to turn off. My cousin's husband and a friend who…read moreare both savvy for these kind of repairs told me point blank to take it to a shop. Hence, we hunted and came up with this one. First thing's first, it's a shame that this business doesn't get more advertising. The entire staff is super nice. Ismael, in particular, was very helpful. When I first called, I'm pretty sure he attended me and he gave me the hours. For those curious, hours are the following: -Monday to Friday: 7 AM to 4 PM; -Saturday: 7 AM to 12 PM. Anyway, once I went, I was attended by Ismael who is surprisingly bilingual. I ended up speaking in Spanish, but my friend who only speaks English went with me and that was a pleasant surprise. You know, the fact that they could talk. Essentially, how it works going to this shop is that you leave your machine, get a number, and then they call you. Or you could call them if you're like me. Given that it took a day or so for them to call me back from the time they said they would, we had a lot of calls back and forth. By Wednesday after I had dropped my lawnmower, I finally knew what the issue was and approved the work. Turns out they cleaned my lawnmower inside out and I paid $39 on Saturday when I picked it up. It works like a dream. Quite satisfied with this place. I just wish that I wouldn't have had to phone chase, but eh, it isn't as if these types of shops are very common. They get a lot of work! Also, please note that they do take cards but only Visa and MasterCard.

Pressure washer - The gas tank was rusted so they installed a Smaller white gas tank . Then I brought it home & I never turned it on so when I did all the oil spewed out. This was a brand new machine & now it's a piece of junk. $100 down the drain Generator- they replaced the gas tank too but when I brought it home I realized it was full of gas!! So that means in a year when i need it, it would be rusty again! Another $100+ down the drain. I called & called complaining & they said 'call back' & hung up on me. I'm done with this place & do not recommend. I've spent hundreds of dollars for everything to be fixed wrong.

My husband and I had an exceptional experience at Casaplanta Nursery, and I cannot recommend it…read moreenough. The nursery is beautiful, with a wide variety of Talavera pots, fountains, statutes, and beautiful plants. Everything is thoughtfully organized, making it easy to browse and find exactly what you are looking for. One of our favorite parts of the visit was their variety of Talavera pots. They add such a beautiful artistic touch and really complement any yard perfectly. What really made my visit stand out, though, was Yollie's help. She was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. She took the time to answer all our questions, offered help, and made sure we left feeling confident about our purchase. Her friendly and approachable attitude made the whole experience enjoyable. If you are looking for quality plants, stunning Talavera pottery, and exceptional customer service, Casa Planta Nursery is it.

Such a lovely plant nursery. There are tons of gorgeous…read moreplants and flowers. Some prices are great but others not so much. But their plants and flowers are all beautifully displayed and in a healthy state. Every once in a while they gave massive sales but for only a select few plants. I just love walking around and enjoying the lovely plantings. It feels like a free tour. But I do buy a few beauties every time I go. Definitely worth a visit. Oh! I can't forget to acknowledge the workers. All so knowledgeable and friendly.

I worked here, for about 3 days, as a mechanic. They had absolutely no company orientation, no…read moreintroductions to the other employees, no "this is our fire extinguisher" or " this is our eyewash station." Nothing. I was assigned, by the General Manager, not the forever-missing-in-action Service Manager to replace an engine on a piece of sports field maintenance equipment. They (the shop) had ordered the WRONG replacement engine. After two days of trying to mount the new engine, I went to the GM and informed him that they had ordered the wrong engine. His reply..."make it fit." After the third day, I turned the project over to another mechanic to waste his time with. I was told to jump on the huge industrial forklift (on which I had never been trained nor licensed to drive). I was told to go into the back lot behind the building and pick up a zero-turn mower for repair. Mind you, when you bring a piece of equipment in, it gets a repair tag, then gets put out in the back lot, which is not paved and is wide open to the weather. Nothing but disorganized rows of equipment to be repaired. At least 50 machines that people were waiting on. Anyway, when I backed the giant forklift out of the shop, I discovered it had NO brakes. Imagine a heavy equipment repair shop operating with a forklift with no brakes! I turned off the forklift, went back into the shop, gathered my tools, got in my car and drove away. Oh, I forgot to mention, when the mechanics clocked out for lunch every day, only half came back to finish the day. Their buddies clocked them back in after lunch. This place sucked, which is probably why they went out of business. Good riddance. On the upside, Everglades Equipment on S. Krome Avenue is a top-notch John Deere shop. Please pay them a visit. Highly recommended, and I don't even work there.
