I needed to have my turning signals/hazard lights fixed. They were only working intermittently…read more Two local mechanics (I've been a regular customer of both) refused to help even though I told them my car was unsafe. They told me to call back when the turn signals/hazard lights were completely broken. In other words, they wanted me to risk getting into a car accident. The car dealership wouldn't even look at it because the car is more than 10 years old. John Francis told me to come right on over. He stopped what he was doing to look at the car. He determined that it needed a new flasher, ordered the part, and had me come back the next day. It took 20 minutes for him to fix it. Even if he made a mistake and replaced the wrong part, if I come back, he will replace the other possible culprit (a broken switch). But he said, in his many years of experience, it's rarely a switch problem. The flasher will be the solution. You know what? Either of the other two mechanics who turned me down could have provided me with the same courtesy. I will now never bring this car to another mechanic. Highly recommended by a very grateful customer.

I normally go to the dealer. At least that way, you know you will get factory parts and it will be fixed when you drive away. "Nicci, don't go to the dealer unless it's under warranty!!" I was told by many. So, Okay I'll bite. Brought the car in. John himself drove me home. Once he was done with my car, he picked me up. Drove us back to his shop. The issue HE says the right size Stabilizer. A couple of days later, I heard a noice again. I didn't want him to think I was Coo-Koo, so when the noice was it loudest, i drove it back to his shop. It was my left ball joint. NOW however, I'm hearing the same type of noice. The front end. Soooooo I'm again prolonging taking my car in. This review will have to be a TO BE CONTINUED.

So when a friend asked me to drop her car off at Bruce's a few years ago my immediate thought was - i wonder how they're gonna screw her over. The next day I dropped off the car - I was greeted just inside the door by a gentleman and was thrown off by his polite demeanor. Again, I was thinking, nice front man. When I went back to pick up the car, same guy, just as polite - and the bill ..... totally reasonable ! So since then I've been using Bruce's for all of my auto repairs - every single time I've gone in - no matter who's at the desk - they're always polite and I have always felt as if they bill very conservatively. Bottom line - if you're not using Bruce's, you're missing out. I wrote this because sometimes a simple thanks isn't enough - I believe in telling everyone about great service, Bruce has clearly set a high standard for his business, his employees, and his reputation. How many mechanics simply do the work that's on the sheet and don't notice the things that could cause damage later on? Answer? Too many. So! They treat women with respect here; no condescending tones, no abrupt shortness, no mention of "talking to the husband", all of that's appreciated in addition to the solid work and reasonable rates.
