Arabesque gray backsplash with gray quartz counter
    Karen L.

We had our kitchen and bathroom remodeled, including copper repiping. Jorge was the 5th contractor we interviewed. The other ones were either overpriced, had a long projected timeframe (3 months!) or unlicensed. Jorge quoted a reasonable price and projected a 6-week completion date which he fulfilled. He and his team were on site everyday. Their showroom in Glendora had very good samples, and we got all our floor, wall tiles and backsplash there. To save money we went with pre-fab kitchen cabinets, but Jorge added some nice moldings and panels (some he built himself) and made them look more customized and finished. When we ran into some unexpected issues (e.g., kitchen counter looked different than expected), Jorge provided solutions and took us to some stone vendors to choose other options. We chose a nice gray quartz countertop (from Genuine Quartz) that complemented the rest of our kitchen design. We wanted a herringbone design on our kitchen floor and Jorge did that beautifully. We got so many compliments on it! We had a hard time choosing our wall paint (went through 6 samples!) and Jorge was so patient. He values safety (made sure glass shower door was done right). He scheduled all the city inspections and everything passed with no issues. A nice touch was he offered to recycle one of our old kitchen cabinets and installed it in our garage for free as additional shelving! We highly recommend Jorge if you're looking for a team that is professional, reliable, respectful and trustworthy.

We contacted Jorge on a recommendation from friends and we are so glad we did. He gave us an excellent quote for our Kitchen/bath/laundry room remodel and then helped us stay within our budget. He also finished the project very close to the time frame he expected (we had a few complications due to the age of our house that were unexpected). Jorge's crew was very friendly and professional and did excellent work. We really appreciated how they interacted with our 4 kids, conversing with them daily and also keeping them safe during construction (since we were all at home because of COVID, which was not our original plan!). We LOVE our finished remodel; it turned out just like we wanted! We would definitely contact Jorge for any future work we need done for our house!

Jorge and his team did an amazing job remodeling our kitchen. They were a first class company with a high level of attention to detail. They showed up every day on-time and made sure our project was their top priority. Would I choose them again? Absolutely! Would I recommend them? Yes

After 30 years, our family decided to remodel our kitchen and one of our bathrooms. My dad searched around and hired Jorge Serpas for the job. Our plan was to gut out and rebuild the entire kitchen and one of the bathrooms including floor tiles, cabinets, and new appliances. We wanted to finish by Thanksgiving, which was only 3 weeks away, which Jorge promised he could complete. Jorge and his workers were here everyday and worked diligently and completed the job exactly in 3 weeks. Throughout the process, Jorge and his workers were on time, courteous, and most importantly professional. Our new kitchen looks much bigger and brighter than before. The new bathroom looks updated and more modern. We have had two parties at home since the remodel and all of our guests commented that the kitchen and bathroom look beautiful. We will definitely recommend Jorge to our friends and relatives.

We have been at our home now for a little over a year. Serpas Building and Remodel, remodeled our home from a 2 bedroom, 1 bath home to a beautiful 5 bedroom 3 1/2 bath. The process took them approximately 6 months. Mind you, they had to tear down the old garage and back property and most of the property was concrete, so they had to break down concrete for the whole back exterior in order to begin their work. If you saw our old property and looked at the new pictures, you would not believe your eyes!! It is a complete transformation. We are so pleased and grateful for Jorge and his workers. They did a gorgeous job! Worth every penny!! And we absolutely recommend them to everyone!!

a bathroom with a toilet and bathtub

I had my one, and only one bathroom remodeled in May. Jorge was recommended by my neighbor, and I am so glad he was the guy I picked! As soon as I got the ok from the HOA, Jorge was ready to start. He answered all of my questions, and offered some really great advice on tile and tub. Jorge took mercy on me and left the toilet in as long as possible during the demo. Jorge has the best crew in town....Anthony and Laurant are amazing - the tile work they did is so impressive. They even installed the hardest toilet ever to be hookede up.... and I LOVE IT. My bathroom is the centerpiece of my condo right now! They worked fast, and I never felt like they were doing 5 jobs at once. Jorge and Anthony took great care of me and did an amazing job at a very fair price. They even came back after the job was complete, to hang my mirror for me. They never left the house a mess, they even had a person come in and do a thorough cleaning at the end which was a really classy thing to do. Their work speaks for themselves. I have the best looking bathroom in Pasadena, and I am more than thrilled with it! Will use this team anytime, any day! You won't find anyone that works harder than this crew.

We recently had our kitchen completely remodeled by SBR. They did a great job! Jorge, the owner, and his team managed to completely gut our original crumbling 50s kitchen and bring it into the modern age. Budget wise they kept it right on target with the only exceptions being extra things we threw at them during construction. Every detail was addressed, they did plumbing, tile flooring, widened our doorways, rebuilt walls that had pocket doors, ran electricity, to stay on budget they used high quality manufactured cabinetry and customized when necessary, lighting, painting, glass tile backsplash, installed a new front door, fabricated a new bottom foot board/step for the front door. They really did a lot of work and it all came out beautifully, all the while in 100°+ heat. Anna, co-owner and Jorge's wife, helped us in their showroom to pick finishes after Jorge had designed the layout with our requests, couldn't be happier. All-in-all a great company to work with, on budget, on time, took a lot of the stress out of a big remodel project. They really went above and beyond our wildest expectations, it truly is our dream kitchen now.

From the beginning, Moe took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and gave helpful recommendations that improved both the design and functionality without trying to upsell unnecessary things. Communication was always clear, and he kept us updated on progress, timelines, and next steps. The kitchen came out beautiful, the layout feels much more open and modern, and the quality of the work really shows in the details. The bathroom remodel was just as impressive, especially the finishes and overall craftsmanship. Everything feels solid, clean, and professionally done. The crew was respectful of our home, worked efficiently, and kept the space as clean as possible during construction, which we really appreciated. Overall, Moe was great to work with, reliable, and clearly takes pride in his work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to remodel their kitchen or bathroom.

Walter worked with us to pick the right product and colors. We went with Shinnoki real wood veneer panels. They are beautiful and durable. Once they got the veneer up, they routed then hand-filed all of the openings. Then that meticulously painted the face frames to match the veneer. They even painted around the drawers where you can see very little of the painting they did. That shows a lot of pride! Walter also gave us the look of frameless cabinets even though we would have had to replace the cabinet boxes in order to make them frameless. That's a lot of extra work. We got a custom job for less than the price of a non-custom job. In the photos you can see the detail I'm talking about. I've included before and after pictures. The before pictures are all dark, ugly drawers and doors. The after pictures are the modern, two-tone look. In one photo in which I have a drawer pulled out with hot pads in it, Walter designed that and made it fit. There was not a drawer in there before because it's under the stove and the gas line was in the way. But Walter moved it. Walter's very conscientious and not afraid to tell you if he thinks something is not going to look good. He'll do whatever you want, but we learned that he knows what he's talking about. He identified the issue quickly and highlighted the lazy workmanship from our kitchen installers (Taranto Construction, Inc in Claremont, CA) who were subcontracted through Lowe's (who we purchased our kitchen from). The shelves collapsed because of loose screws from lazy installers at Taranto Construction, Inc. It's infuriating to have to pay someone to come solve an issue that goes back to completely loose screws in the hardware that would've taken an extra 5 seconds to properly tighten at the initial install. But they know people won't see it, so they cut corners. DO NOT EVER USE TARANTO CONSTRUCTION INC in Claremont CA for a kitchen install, or any Lowe's in the surrounding area, as this is who they refer the work to. After spending a short amount of time with Walter, it's clear he knows what he is doing and is a professional. He even tightened and adjusted other cabinet doors in our kitchen he noticed issues with that had nothing to do with the cabinet shelves he came to fix. He was a very nice guy and I was glad I called him. Thank you very much.

Before finding J&L Innovative Flooring, I had already met with four different flooring companies for in-home estimates and had a good understanding of the costs involved. I was actually planning to hire another contractor. On a Friday afternoon, I called J&L Innovative Flooring and spoke with Larissa, the owner. She was out of town until Tuesday, so I honestly told her I didn't want to waste her time since I had already received multiple estimates and was leaning toward another company. She completely understood but offered to give me a general estimate and explain her scope of work over the phone. Shortly afterward, Larissa texted me a detailed estimate and outlined the work she recommended. I then spent time reading through the company's reviews and found countless satisfied customers. That convinced me to schedule an in-home consultation, and our family is so glad we did. When Larissa came out on Tuesday, I asked countless questions about floor preparation, moisture barriers, moldings, transitions, and the installation process. She answered every question thoroughly and emphasized doing everything according to the manufacturer's installation requirements and warranty. It was immediately obvious that she has extensive knowledge and experience. Unlike many contractors--including one I had previously hired--she wasn't interested in taking shortcuts to save time or money. Just by inspecting our existing floor, she recognized that our concrete slab would require leveling. She assured me that concrete leveling (within reasonable limits) was already included in her estimates at no additional charge. That level of honesty and professionalism immediately earned my trust. Our project also had some unique requirements. We needed the installation completed in two phases because one room was being used to store appliances and furniture. I also wanted to use the same flooring system that had protected our home during the slab leak: Bostik MVP4 moisture barrier with Bostik Best adhesive. Although many installers now use newer systems, this was the system I trusted most and to me worth the increased expense. I also wanted to purchase the flooring materials myself because of an existing relationship with a flooring supplier. Larissa happily accommodated both requests. She even contacted several of her own flooring suppliers to make sure I was getting the best possible pricing. She ultimately matched the same discount (never told her the price)I I was receiving on the engineered hardwood and secured excellent pricing on the adhesive and moisture barrier. It's clear she has strong relationships throughout the industry and genuinely looks out for her customers. Her knowledge on various flooring manufacturers is truly amazing. Most flooring contractors will push u into a certain wood manufacturer that they could make the most commission on but with Larissa u can choose whatever you want and she will try to get you the best deal. For the installation, Larissa assigned Enrique, who has more than 20 years of experience. From demolition to floor preparation, installation, and baseboards, Enrique worked with incredible care and precision. He carefully protected our kitchen cabinets and preserved our bullnose stair nosings instead of taking the easy route and replacing them. Our slab required extensive leveling and sanding before installation. Enrique took his time to ensure the subfloor was perfectly prepared and thoughtfully selected the best-looking planks for the most visible areas of the house. That level of planning and attention to detail is something many installers simply don't do because it takes extra time. One thing that really stood out was that Enrique hand-wiped every single plank after installation while working on his hands and knees. That's over 1,600 square feet of flooring cleaned one plank at a time. Watching that level of dedication was truly impressive. Throughout the project, whenever an issue came up, Larissa immediately found a solution. At one point I forgot to order the T-moldings from the flooring manufacturer, and they were on backorder for two weeks. Rather than delaying the project, Larissa leveraged her network to have a custom T-molding made and professionally stained within just two days. It's rare to find a contractor who is knowledgeable, honest, responsive, and genuinely committed to doing things the right way. Larissa and her team exceeded our expectations from start to finish. If you're looking for a flooring contractor you can completely trust, I highly recommend calling Larissa at J&L Innovative Flooring.

What impressed us most was the seamless transition between our newly remodeled stairs, the existing flooring, and the new installation--you truly can't tell where one ends and the other begins. The craftsmanship was exceptional, and the entire project was completed in just two days. We couldn't be happier with the quality of both the products and the workmanship. Larissa also referred us to a painter, and that experience was just as fantastic, which speaks volumes about the quality of the professionals she works with.
