The grilled cheese was perfectly balanced with salt and savory. And the tomato soup was a delicious pairing. The coffee was hot and tasty. In fact, I came back here several times during our visit to Madison. The biggest hit of all though was the giant chalkboard in the back. Our kids just loved drawing on it as they waited for lunch to arrive. It's such a wonderful spot. We are excited to come back!

Service was fast, but they forgot to package some of our chocolates. When we called about the issue, they did offer us a refund. On the other hand, the pricing of the pastries was astronomical. The one we bought (white rose) cost $18, when I've had a similar pastry in Arlington, VA that only cost $11. Taste-wise, it was fine. They also offer gelato and gift boxes, but we didn't buy any so I can't comment on them. The back of the shop is decently sized and has one or two tables for people to sit at, but the part of the shop that goes past the chocolate cases is very narrow. If somebody has a walker/wheelchair/stroller, or a group in front of you forms a cluster, you probably won't be able to move past them.

The hours at this store are impressive - 8am to 8pm 7 days a week. The owners are definitely hard workers! I didn't meet Janet but Roy was to the point when I asked questions. A bushel is $36, and a half bushel is $18. A half bushel bag is a lot smaller than the box that they call a bushel, so we decided to buy a bushel. You can fill the box up with whichever apples you want. They have a big selection of apples, including some I'd never heard of (eg, Virginia Gold). Roy was attentive and told me when the box was full and that I should stop adding apples. It wasn't quite all the way to the top, but it was still a good deal. If I'm in the area, I'll probably stop by again!

Brenda, the store owner, was a sweet woman who took my phone call with excitement. She walked me through her flavor profiles and gave me an affordable rate for a half dozen cupcakes. I ordered approximately 5 days before I needed to pick them up with no issues. I even gave her an approximate time I would pick them up at and she made sure to have them ready by then. On pickup day, I drove out to her home which was minutes off Route 29 (behind the CVS on Moore Rd.) Her home, including her kitchen, were immaculate and very, very clean!
