The greens were the complete opposite--they were extremely tough, and I found myself chewing them for several minutes. The flavor was also unusual and difficult to identify. The fried chicken was seasoned, but the seasoning seemed to be mostly on the skin. The meat itself was bland, and the chicken had a burnt taste while the skin was still undercooked. The cornbread muffin was probably the biggest disappointment. It was extremely hard, to the point that I was concerned about breaking a tooth. The picture really speaks for itself. I understand that an occasional meal may not turn out perfectly, so I'm willing to give this business another try. I sincerely hope this was just an off day and not representative of the quality they normally serve. I believe in supporting local businesses, but customers should also be able to expect good-quality food and consistency. Hopefully, my next experience will be much better.

Here's where the problem lies. These did not have a authentic Rojo sauce. They were topped with a almost pink tomato gravy sauce. It was very offputting and did not have a good flavor. Our server was pleasant, the ambience was that of a typical Mexican restaurant and clean. The person who checked us out was very pleasant. Will we go back? Absolutely not. If you can't make an authentic rojo sauce or serve warm, freshly cooked tortilla chips, I'm not up for trying anything else on your menu. I've heard so much about the barbecue in the south that it was hard to think about not going there, we had to go. It did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly. As usual, my wife and I shared our entrées and we could not find a problem with anything. We ultimately a sample plate of different barbecue meats. As you suspected, I ate more than she did. We did have apple fritters for dessert and they came out a little bit different than I suspected they would. An apple fritter that I'm familiar with is served like a large donut, these were donut holes. Tasty little bites that they custom-made for our order. The ambience is comfortable, but don't go expecting linens and glasses and a sit down experience, you order and they bring the tray of food to you when it's ready and life is good at that point.
