I am undergoing chemotherapy, and this is my second time with cancer. I have lost all of my hair. I was so happy to be given a prescription for a cranial prosthetic (wig) and quickly made an appointment with Serenity. I saw their advertisement and phone number on a pink car in traffic and it's silly but I thought it was a sign to get shopping. I arrived for my appointment a couple of minutes before time. When I entered, the only people who looked at me were a woman getting her wig shaped and the two women with her. I walked around a bit, trying to see if there was another salesperson who would come up to welcome me and get my appointment going. It felt awkward, no one said hello or welcome or have a seat, do you have an appointment, it will just be a minute, take a look around while you're waiting- nothing. I took it upon myself to sit down on the couch and wait, which I don't mind doing normally. After 15 minutes, no one had said a single word- not even a GLANCE- I decided that this shop did not earn my money, and I left. I looked on maps and found a different shop about 15 minutes away and drove there. I was welcomed and helped immediately. Within maybe 15-20 mins top, I found a beautiful wig that I am purchasing. I was so impressed with the other shop- and very disappointed with this one. I am a person of color, with many prominent tattoos and a couple of piercings. I don't know exactly what could have put them off on me, on sight but it was really unfortunate. I understand businesses being busy, but busy doesn't mean you have to be rude. read more

I recently brought a friend to Serenity Wig Salon after she experienced hair loss from radiation treatments, hoping for a supportive and helpful experience. Unfortunately, our appointment was very disappointing. Although we had a scheduled appointment, Diana continuously left us to assist four different walk-in customers who arrived without appointments. This meant my friend was left waiting and competing for attention during the time we had reserved. After only trying on three wigs, Diana told us that we had "reached our limit." At no point, when I called to schedule, was I told there was a limit on the number of wigs we could try or on the time allotted. For someone going through something as sensitive as hair loss due to cancer treatment, this lack of attention and care was extremely discouraging. We ultimately chose to leave, and based on this experience, we do not plan to return. read more

I could not be happier with my experience at serenity Wigs. I purchased a hair piece from them and they cut it to the style I like. Fast forward a few weeks and I decided I wanted a shorter style. I went back in and they did a beautiful job cutting it for me again with no charge. I love my hair piece and feel beautiful in it. Diane is so friendly and nice. Renee and Gigi did great jobs on styling my piece and teaching me how to care for it. I watched them interact with several other customers and love how they informed them that insurance may help cover some of the expense for the wig (I am assuming this was for cancer patients). This small shop located inside a strip center makes use of the space it has with plenty of seating to try on the wigs. It is a bright inviting place with crystal chandeliers. Not only do they have hundreds of wigs to choose from but they have plenty of hats and hairpieces as well. I did notice that the hats and hair care products had prices, but none of the wigs had retails on the tags. Also, located within this business is a salon to help you with that perfect choice. Considering that many clients to this establishment are cancer patients, I would expect much better treatment, kindness and thoughtfulness. There's absolutely no privacy. They don't respect appointment times- on my second visit they accused me of not having an appointment because the woman couldn't read the appointment book writing. Then made me wait while they attended a woman who had walked in. There was a very strong candle burning during my first visit-horrible for some patients- and the woman helping me kept getting my wig selections mixed up. The woman on the other side of the mirror was speaking so loudly I could barely hear my attendant. Though my first visit was so unpleasant I went back to give them a second chance. They were so rude to me yesterday. I walked in and this lady said do you need help? I said well yeah, let me get someone so she pulled someone out from the back area and she started helping me. She put me in a back room. Then these other two ladies come in after me and she starts helping them and said she didn't want them to have to wait. Course they were Hispanic also so she just put me in a back room and let me white and white and white. I would've bought three wigs. Very rude of course the lady helping me was Hispanic, so I think it was a racial thing. There is not much "word" out there about people (more woman) losing hair after having COVID. I had it last year, and couple months after, I started losing big clumps of hair. It was like 3 months of shedding. Luckily, I did not lose as much as a lot I heard on the internet. But, enough to make a difference in the thinness of my hair. It has started to grow back. But, I have a wedding in a little over a month, and I knew I could not walk down the aisle with the hair I had. I made an appointment and when arrived, Olivia greeted me right away. My Fiancee joined me, and she told him to sit on the couch and relax. He chose not to. And, I wanted him to be there to help pick out what I needed. We tried a topper first. But, that did not look right. I have dyed my hair, since in my 20's, and always dye it more auburn, so she was trying to get more reddish wigs for me. But, after a couple I turned in my chair, and saw on the wall "The Carrie", which was just medium brown and shoulder length with a little curl at the end. As soon as she put it on me, I knew, this was the one. She instructed me on how to take care of it. Showed my Fiancee how to help put it on, if I needed it. It was synthetic, so I could not apply heat to it, she said. So, she said to bring it back a week before wedding, and she could style it more for me, which I will. She also showed me the shampoo and conditioner to use, they had in store to purchase. Olivia was very pleasant, and helped me to be put at ease over this stressful purchase. My mom recently finished chemo treatment for cancer. And while the whole process was hard, losing her hair may have been one of the toughest parts for her. And she was terrified We made an appointment with Renee and arrived at the store to be greeted by happy, cheerful women who immediately eased my moms anxiety. Renee took her time to explain the different qualities of the wigs and helped my mom find one that looked close to her original hair. She also tried on some different colors/cuts and made it fun for my mom. The store is filled with different styles/cuts as well as colors. Whatever is on display also comes in different colors & if it's not in stock, they will order it. They also offer a large head wraps & caps as well as all of the things to keep your wig clean. I came in and discussed the different styles and options with a stylist. She showed me several models but wouldn't let me try them on because I hadn't lost my hair yet. I cannot say enough good things about Parker Serenity Wig Spa. It's been a couple of months since I bought my wig, but wanted to take a moment to review them. I had brain surgery in July, thus ended up with a shaved head. I knew it was coming so I had time to prepare and to research wigs...I was on the fence about buying one. I had in my head that I would have the obvious appearance of wearing a wig and I did not want that... My first visit there, I was greated warmly by everyone. The manager, Eli, was the primary person I worked with. Her knowledge of the products is immense and she possesses the wonderful talent of being able to suggest and help find styles that suit the person. She was so helpful. After helping me decide on a style and color, I was happy to have my new look. After my surgery, I returned for a fitting as the wig was a little loose after my hair disappeared. Once again I worked with Eli and after she took the measurements, the alterations were made, and I once again had my hair I must say I couldn't believe the difference in how it felt. Before it felt 'okay' but after it felt like a perfect glove. Unbelievable...they did a *wonderful* job! I work in retail and the comments I get reinforce the fact that my worry about looking like I was wearing a wig was completely unnecessary. I am not shy about the fact that I wear a wig. Some days I do choose to go without. When my regular customers see me 'without my hair' they are shocked to learn that I wear one. I have often had people ask me who my stylist is because they love the cut and color and I love the reaction when I tell them it's a wig! Hands down the service is wonderful here. I have even received follow-up calls just to make sure everything is going ok. How's that for service! Eli and the rest of her staff are wonderful! They are able to answer any question, give wonderful advice and the environment of the Salon is wonderful-very cozy and inviting and they're able to provide for privacy if you prefer while trying on different styles. I came here to shop for a wig before I start chemotherapy. I made an appointment. The girl that helped me was pleasant enough, although she seemed bored. She showed me several wigs which looked very natural. They didn't have even one wig in the shop that was the color to match my hair (dark brown- one shade lighter than black). She tried to make me go lighter but it just didn't look like me. We agreed on a style and she said she would order me one in that color and style which should come in a few days. It has been just over 3 weeks. I have called twice. Both times they had a hard time finding a record of my order then said they would call when it came in. I went to another wig shop, Abba wigs, where she bent over backwards to help me. I left that day with a wig cut and styled to look exactly like my own hair. Her selections were impressive! I bought my wig here and had a pretty good experience first time and felt confident leaving the shop. I had my hair then and the lady told me come back when I lose my hair and they can shape the wig for me. It was apparently a service they offer. I did return and the hairdresser Olivia was amazing. On checking out she commented it was complimentary service since I purchased the wig there, which was my understanding. Then this little lady behind the counter almost had a fit. She said I had the wig thinned out and that wasn't free. Charged me $35. I really had no problem, paying for the service as it made a huge difference to he wig but her gruff unfriendly attitude left me feeling embarrassed. The blonde lady checking me out needs to learn to say thank you and smile too, Your face won't crack lady, most of your customers are cancer patients , they suffered enough, we don't need your sour face. I am 51 and have been losing my hair slowly over the years due to a medical condition; I finally got to the point that I could no longer creatively conceal my bald spots. I found Parker Serenity on line and looked at the site everyday for nearly a month. I have never worn a wig before and was scared and embarrassed. My daughter went with me and gave me the courage to walk in the door. That was the best thing I could have ever done. The ladies were so kind; especially Mary who helped me so much. I was able to try on as many wigs as I wanted and my embarrassment turned to fun. Seeing myself in a wig was a bit overwhelming, but in a great way. If you live in Austin and are even considering getting a wig, you should go here. I thought about it for a long time because I was losing a lot of hair at the young age of 29, but I was very nervous about the whole wig thing. I did a lot of online research before deciding I needed to go to a store the first time. They have tons and tons of wigs there of really good quality and will patiently help you try on as many as you want. I told them i wanted a long brown wig, but then when i wanted to try blonde they pulled a ton of blond wigs too without showing any signs of frustration at my "indecisiveness". They also explain how to wash them, wrap your hair underneath, etc. They can cut them for you which is good because some of the longer wigs get kind of thin at the end in my opinion... I bought 2 wigs here during my first visit, but went home and looked online because I was curious about how the prices compare. Actually, the 2 wigs I bought Parkers were cheaper in the store than any reputable or decent online wig store. You may find some cuts or brands cheaper online, but I was personally too nervous that they would come in the mail all messed up or I wouldn't like them and you canNOT return wigs. So ordering from any online place seemed risky to me anyway. And going to store, at least for your first visit, is much better because you can try them on and have them trimmed if you need to. So anyway, I wrote this because I know getting wigs can be kind of scary or strange or whatever, and thought maybe someone would like to know that this is a pretty awesome and very comfortable place to go. read more

My first impression was that it was a very nice wig salon with a great selection of wigs. I arrived and was assigned Diane to help me. I walked around and picked a couple wigs to try on. I knew I wanted a human hair wig. I asked Diane questions about each wig I was interested in and she could not answer any of my questions. I asked her if any of the wigs had baby hairs. She said to me "what are baby hairs". Really?? She was like you know more about wigs than I do. I have only been researching wigs for one week. I wish I got a more experienced salesperson to help me. If you do make an appointment ask for Renee. She seems to know what she is doing. I ended up buying a beautiful Follea wig that I was very happy with. Then about 3 months later in February I wanted another Folleea wig. I called Serenity and Diane answered the call. I asked her to check their stock and see if they had a certain style and please call me back and let me know. She never called me back. I think that is so rude. She could have called me back to say she did not have the wig I wanted. I feel this wig salon is very nice but they really need to train their staff better and return customer calls. I have been here twice, once to buy my wig, and then another to get it styled and cut. I did not think that I would need a wig at 36, but having to undergo chemo for breast cancer changed some plans! I went initially with a friend, without an appointment, and found a very nice wig that everyone said looked great on me. The lady who helped me was super nice, and very willing to let me try any and all wigs in the store. She did not make me feel rushed at all, and was extremely nice. Once I started wearing the wig, it was a little too "poufy" and full. My own hair is usually on the thin side. The wig also kept falling in my face, and I felt like it was a little too long and tangled easily. I learned on their website that wigs usually come with too much hair, so styling can really help a wig look natural. I made an appointment to get it styled. When I walked in, the saleslady couldn't even tell I was wearing a wig! So I guess it looked pretty good without the trim! After the trim though, it is fantastic!! She thinned it out quite a bit and cut some of the length off. It really does look just like my old hair. People are amazed that it's a wig (those that know I've had chemo). Bottom line: I've had two great experiences here, and I would recommend this shop to anyone who needs a nice, great-looking wig. read more

I was greeted almost immediately when I walked in the door. The ladies were busy with other customers, but told me they'd be with me soon and to pick out a few wigs I'd like to try on.
