Review for Sarah at Serenity Hair Salon This was my last visit to Serenity Hair Salon with Sarah. I went in for a gray touch-up and additional highlights and asked for the same result as my first visit. I clearly and repeatedly expressed my concerns, specifically that I did not want brassy, orange, or yellow tones. Unfortunately, the results were disastrous. After spending 8 hours in the chair, the first attempt left my hair orange. Sarah said she would fix it, but it then turned yellow. Even after all that time, my gray was not fully covered, and my hair was left fried and yellow. She charged $280 for a result that was nowhere near what I requested or what was previously done. Based on the outcome, the work appeared inexperienced and amateur. Sarah needs much more practice, and I would strongly advise others to be cautious and make sure expectations are very clear--better yet, consider another stylist. My hair was fading (because I didn't wanna commit to permanent color so we did semi permanent ) and it was time for a touch up. Overall I enjoyed my cut but I'm leaving this review based on the misinformation on the pricing as well as the service included in the cut. When I walked in and asked how much the service would be they informed me that the woman who was going to be doing my hair was going to charge around $45 w/wash included. Then they told me another stylist was available and since I had just spoken and approved of the other stylist pricing and services and was not informed otherwise of a change in price or services I assumed I would be charged around the same and given the same service. I then did not get a wash but just got a cut and was charged $75. Again, I really enjoyed the woman who cut my hair but I think the lack of information of the change in services and price is not reasonable and therefore left me unhappy with my cut. read more

BEWARE!!!!!! So after calling to set up an appointment, I went down to the salmon to get my hair done. But.... when I arrived I was told that my appointment was never confirmed and that they had called and left me a message to reschedule. HOWEVE, I never received said "phone call" or even a text message! So at this point, they tell me to come in the next day and that they would text me to confirm an appointment with them. Surprise, Surprise!! Again I never got that text message! Keep in mind, at no point did I have any kind of attitude, in fact I was thrilled just to get an appointment. I even called again the next day and left a message but you guessed it, no call back! This is the absolute rudest and unprofessional salon that I have ever been to! Micah is AMAZING! My hair is thick, curly, and hard to deal with but she gave me the best hair cut/ color today! I am going lighter and adding more rose gold when I see her in 2 months! She perfected exactly what I wanted done to my hair. I believe she gave the same effort on my hair that she would do for herself. I loved how particular she was as she worked. I feel bad writing this review because Toni was a sweetheart but I am so unhappy with my cut and can't believe I paid what I did for it. I showed her a reference photo and she took one glance at it (didn't study it or ask questions) and went straight for the kill. I thought oh wow she's really confident so I figured I was in good hands. I just needed some short layers and texture from my blunt cut and some wispy *bangs that arc down around the eyes*. Instead it looks like a damn table! Right away she started cutting the bangs wayyyy too short. There are no layers in the front from my bangs if that makes sense! I think she's just not sure what is "in" anymore and didn't understand what I wanted. I had to make her correct it twice until I just had to settle cause I could see there wasn't much that could be done. It wasn't until I made her take a triple look at the photo that she was like "ohh". One of the stylists even had to restyle it for me because they felt bad. I wanted to try somewhere new to get my hair cut and i wanted to do something the day I called because I could not stand my hair anymore. Two weeks ago I got a terrible perm. It's not that the lady that did the perm did a bad job at all. It was just a dumb idea on my part.m to get one. Then I bravely did my own straight perm at home even though I was advised not to. So my hair which already was colored before the perms was permed twice so you can imagine the damage. I went in to get the ends cleaned up because I had tons of split ends. I had an appointment with Micah and she did a great job! I was very very impressed. I showed her a pic and she looked at it briefly and I was a tad worried just cause it was my first time but she had every right to be confident. It turned out better than I had expected! It was a little bit more than i usually spend but well worth it. The customer service was good overall and it is in a convenient location. I will be going back. read more

Sydnee Hawks is an awesome lash artist! I got introduced to her by my old lash artist because our schedules no longer met up. She is super cute super friendly and super professional. She's really good at asking you what you're looking for but also giving great advice about how to make it look even more perfect. I love the natural lash look with volume and she was able to perfect what I've had done in the past. She is also very delicate, pain-free , and gives you brushes every time you come. She gives you the option to chat throughout your experience or a silent calming presence. I'm so happy I was referred to her. I feel beautiful and natural and my lashes last easily up to 4-6weeks wo touch up. She is very accommodating and super responsive with great communication. I love this place! I came here originally for a haircut with Isaac. I walked in and was surprised by how cute and big this place is. The front desk girl was very welcoming and helpful, especially because this was my first time in an actual salon. There is a cute little area where they sell product, then behind the foyer there is waiting area with nice couches. Fast forward a few months and now I've been getting my haircut by this guy for a couple months. He is hilarious and personable, but most importantly he does an amazing job with my hair. He's probably the first hair stylist that has bothered to give me a functional haircut that takes in to consideration I hate styling my hair every day and how thick it is. He's the best. The pricing is not as bad as I expected. I was able to look at a brochure recently and was pleasantly surprised....it's good for a full service salon. I made my appointment a week in advance, only to arrive on the day of my appointment to be told they tried to reach out to me and my appointment wasn't confirmed. I was then told they could fit me in the next day, unbelievable. Never in my life have I been so let down by a salon. All I wanted to do was get my hair done on my birthday. But it's ok, I can always try next year...Did I mention the woman claimed she called me that morning, but when I got home and checked my recent calls, I found absolutely nothing. Stephanie is an excellent colorist, one of the best I have ever had - which means a great deal since I have had my hair colored by some of the best of Beverly Hills. The only problem is trying to track her down to get an appoinment and she tends to cancel at the last minute (numerous times this happened). Toni, on the other hand, came highly recommended but knows absolutely nothing how to properly color hair. I gave her a second chance and when she didn't do it correctly again, she refused to correct it. I am basing this review solely on my tanning experience. The salon itself was very nice and clean. The front desk staff were very kind. I was getting the mystic tan done. I have had this done before. Well, the machine did not get my full body. It stopped at my knees. I thought I was imagining things and then my family confirmed (hours after my tanning session) that my upper body looked tan while my legs continued to look white as a ghost. So basically the parts of me I waned to look sweet and bronzed looked sad and translucent. So based on this I probably would opt for an airbrush in the future. I came in for a facial with Jenna. I bought her Groupon and chose the enzyme peel. She started off by cleansing my skin and giving me a wonderful massage. She later put the enzyme peel on and it smelled like pumpkin, which was amazing. I added on a brow and upper lip wax and she was so gentle it barely hurt.
