I had a Labor Induction Massage session with Kaelyn at exactly 40 weeks. The set up in the room was super calming and welcoming. Kaelyn had everything set up to accommodate my bump and ensured that we were comfortable. The massage was like a standard Swedish massage with the addition of focusing on a few acupressure points to stimulate labor. The pressure was great, the music was relaxing, and the whole vibe was exactly what I needed. Afterwards, I was provided with water and tips on things I could do at home to extend the effects of the session. In response to the prior review where they claimed to offer the "full amount of the service". I was asked if I could wait for a late therapist. Unfortunately I could not because of child care and said I would have to reschedule. I was immediately told to look at last minute cancellation policies. They could have said "no problem, sorry it didn't work out- we will reschedule you." But they didn't, they told me their "policy" meant this was a last minute cancel on my end. Now they're trying to say they offered me the full amount of my service- This never happened. No refund offered. No reschedule offered. Incredibly rude and not accommodating. The therapist never even called to discuss with me directly about another day/time that might work. Just had someone else texting indicating that I should check out their policies. Weather happens, traffic happens but when that happens, you apologize and reschedule the client who is waiting on you if they can't wait- you don't tell them to look at the cancellation policy if they can't wait for you. They continue to say, "there's nothing we can do based on the policy". You can, you can refund the service, can and reschedule for another day at no additional cost the client. Reason for the rating is mostly because the facilities were a disappointment for the price I paid. I wasn't very comfortable lying on dark sheets that were musky feeling. This place is amazing. Easy to find and plenty of off street pro care parking. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment was greeted by my massage therapist. I filled out client paperwork, and began my massage at my appointment time. My massage therapist asked which pressure I preferred (gentle, medium, deep) and inquired about my problem areas (ex: neck, back, legs, hips, etc). The pressure was on point and I felt her massage out spots of tension and pressure points. My only gripe is that I wish I had a longer session. Finally leaving a review. I'll start by saying I hate leaving bad reviews for small businesses, but I really did not enjoy my massage. I received my prenatal massage back in September about a month before I was due. I was very excited to treat myself and received a recommendation to this place and decided to try it out. I arrived 15 early as suggested and the therapist arrived very late. The office was locked and I was too pregnant to stand for long so I had to sit on the dirty stairs and wait for her to arrive. The massage itself was painful and not relaxing. I asked her twice to please apply less pressure and she still applied a LOT of pressure. I have had massages before and they did not hurt like this. They have you fill out a questionnaire before your visit but she does not look at the questionnaire or work on problem spots so that was a waste of time. Overall not a good experience. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for two months in advance for today. I had to call their number to confirm the appointment. Then after confirming they sent a cancellation via email. When I called they eventually emailed back saying "that was a mistake" so the appointment was on. When I arrived 15 minutes early the building was locked. I was not provided with a code. Then after waiting 25 minutes I received a text that she would be there at "56" which meant 5:56 and could I wait in my car as there is no where to sit outside the office."Traffic was extremely heavy". Traffic is always heavy especially on a Friday evening and should be factored into a prompt arrival time. I will NEVER return to them again and highly recommend that you stay away. Situated a hop, skip, and a jump down the street from the best ramen in the greater Sacramento area-- Ramen House Ryujin, which you better believe I indulged in prior to my 3:00 PM appointment with Kaelyn-- this little apartment-style massage studio is adorable, intimate, and welcoming. Be sure to enter from the side of the building. Suite 4 is up the stairs. I arrived about half an hour early. Mostly because I could hardly wait for my massage, but also so I could fill out the paperwork for new clients. Expect about 4 pages (one sided) to complete before your service. Kaelyn was very welcoming and sweet as can be! She sat with me for a bit to welcome me, and then went to finish up with a previous client while I completed my paperwork. The waiting room area is comfortable with two couches and a plethora of pillows-- which us preggo chickies love. The massage room is spacious, dark with calming lighting in the corner and illuminating through the curtains at the window. The room was the perfect temperature. Kaeyln had me begin by sitting in a comfortable chair while she massaged my feet as thy were soaking in hot water and oils. (This is that point I mentioned above, where I already knew I was in love, and would absolutely be returning.) After my foot soak and massage, Kaelyn explained the pillow arrangement on the massage bed/table, and had me undress to my comfort level while she waited outside. The table was very comfortable! As if I wasn't already completely sold, Kaelyn's skill and technique sealed the deal for realsies-- oh yeah, for realsies people. She clearly understands the pregnant woman's body. There was not a single point where I felt awkward. The pressure was perfect, and her movement were gentle and fluid. Kaelyn is a tried and true masseuse. One of the best I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. My appointment was at 3. It's only 4:40, and I've already recommended her to three people. **Note! She has an adorable therapy dog. I received overnight care for my infant and was disappointed with the lack of good judgement by the doula. She left all the overhead lights on throughout the night so of course the baby didn't get much rest (would anyone?). She also massively overfed him. He was 3 months old and didn't need to eat overnight, but she gave him three bottles of formula at large quantities. That made me think that she addressed any fuss with food, and I don't think that displays creative problem solving about different ways to address a baby's needs. The next time I woke to find her fast asleep with the baby on a couch. She was so deeply asleep I could not rouse her without raising my voice and shaking her. She should not have been sleeping on the job and the baby should not have been on a couch without proper supervision. I was also disturbed that, if she was that asleep, she might not have awoken if the baby needed something. The doula was friendly and I was happy to get some rest, but would strongly advise against hiring this person. read more

Kaelyn was my doula for the recent birth of my daughter and I am so grateful we not only hired a doula but that we chose Kaelyn in particular. After interviewing a few doulas in the Sacramento area, I clicked with Kaelyn and something about her personality and style felt calm, informed, and trusting - all things I hoped for in my birth. This was my first birth and I truly think Kaelyn made a difference in my birth being aligned with my wishes. She helped us think through our birth plan ahead of time and provided us with techniques to manage the early stages of labor at home. If I could give more stars, I would! I am a first time expecting mama at 37 weeks, and EVERYTHING hurts. Kaelyn was magical. She is so calm and peaceful, I immediately felt at ease. She made sure I was in a comfortable position throughout the massage ("comfortable" is not a word that often makes it into my vocabulary these days) and spent the exact amount of time needed on each body part. As an added bonus, I have been 24 hours free of cankles and sausage toes... I don't know what she did to make my lower extremity edema disappear, but I am so grateful. I went to Serene Relaxation for a lymphatic drainage massage and Kaelyn was very gentle around my swollen areas. While the gentleness was much appreciated I should have asked for a bit more pressure around my problem areas. I've noticed an immediate decrease where I was swollen. Just got RIPPED OFF by this place. Showed up to my appointment to a locked door. I called. I was told my appointment was at 10am, when it was at 11am, and I have the email from them to prove it. She informed me there was no way they could take me today in spite of having 5-6 openings when I made the appointment just 2 days prior. I was then told I could reschedule and pay a $30 fee. Likely another place that OFFERS Groupons yet treats potential customers who have a Groupon with tremendous disdain. Don't offer the discount if you really don't want the customers, and please be more courteous when phoned. read more

I scheduled an appointment weeks in advance using their very convenient online scheduling system off their official website. The dates were quite limited, but I was able to find one that accommodated my busy schedule. Unfortunately, I got a call from them close to the date of telling me that my massage therapist would be unavailable and that I'd have to reschedule. After going back and forth for a long while due to both of our limited availability, I managed to reschedule for a different day. Annoying, but life happens. My 60-minute custom massage was scheduled with massage therapist, Kaelyn Crenshaw. The email confirmation stated to arrive 5 minutes before schedule due to there being paperwork to fill out for new clients. Their email also stated that they have reserved ADDITIONAL time to take care of paperwork and settling into the table. HOWEVER...Here's what made the experience a little bit unpleasant for me. I arrived 3 minutes early. The paperwork were quite lengthy as I am one to actually read things before signing. There was also a process of soaking and rinsing off your feet prior to settling into the massage table. Yet, I left there exactly one hour after arrival time. This tells me that my massage must've lasted only 45 minutes, if that. It was definitely short of what I paid for. You would think that they would want to offer something more for rescheduling me in the first place, not cheat me on the time. On the bright side, Kaelyn did get quite a few of my knots out (and there were many). She is very good at communicating a minimal but effective amount. The pressure was great for me and she pressed on all the right spots. There was no doubt that she knew what she was doing. This place is very small, but it's definitely comfortable. The ambiance of it may not be what you expect a typical spa to be with dim rooms with perhaps some candles. It gave me more of a therapist's (the talking kind, not massage lol) office vibe because it's very well lit with a big window (with blinds) that face the main street. I like that their massage tables are massive compared to many others I've experienced. Overall, if you have an opportunity at purchasing the massage at a discounted rate, it's worth a try. I will not likely be returning because I don't want to have to explain to someone about honoring the full time scheduled, even if I am a fan of the massage itself. read more

Once you enter the home, she led me to a waiting room. Once she was prepped and ready, she then led me to the massage room. Cute little room that was very relaxing. If needed, there's water and tea for you if you'd like. I got a foot massage first. After my foot massage, Kaelyn told me to go ahead and undress to my comfort and had me lay on her massage bed. She came in about 5 minutes later and my massage started. I swear, I felt like I just laid down and my hour was up! I was so sad when I had to leave, but ever so grateful for her help! Booked a prenatal massage last year based on reviews. I wish I had picked someplace else. First it's just an apartment used as a work space. There was a bed sheet of sorts covering the kitchen but you could see a stack full of dirty dishes. Gross. There were stairs to climb. Was tough to do at 9 months pregnant. I arrived a little before the start time. She had me fill out pages of papers. I put what I wanted and didn't want done on them. She did not even look at it because if she had I would've had a better massage. Then left me waiting. I had to call out for her as it took so long for her to come back. She didn't ask if I liked the pressure until halfway through. I told her I wanted more. I like really hard pressure. No change. None. After it was done and I was paying she have some sad excuse about my body just wouldn't let her go harder. Uh huh. After I left I realized I didn't even get my full time that I paid for. Negative stars should be an option on Yelp. I made an appointment one month ago, requested the day off from work, coworkers rearranged their days so I could be off. The morning of my massage day I get a text message saying they cannot accommodate me today, the therapist is sick. I asked if anyone else could see me ANY other time today. Nope. I picked this business because they have more than one therapist and seemed like it would be a good spot. Bring someone else in to perform services promised 30 days ago! They did offer the following Sunday but what if they are, "sick" again or some other reason they may give me to cancel AGAIN? I'm busy then and I'm not rearranging my day because they have bad service. It would have been an anger buffer if they at least offered an upgrade for free due to this inconvenience. They did not. -Unreliable service is my experience with this business and this is as far as MY business goes with them. read more

I booked my appointment for a 90 minutes massage over two months ago. I have extreme back pain and was looking forward to this, even preparing the day before by upping my water consumption. My husband drove me to my 9:30 appointment and I arrived at 9:15 as the email says to fill out the appropriate paperwork. Nobody was there. I waited until 5 minutes before my appointment before calling and leaving a voicemail. While I waited, I scrolled through yelp only to see another review where the therapist did not show up. I also realized by the other reviews that there is only one therapist who works there. Moments later, now 15 min after my appointment was supposed to start, I received a text message (attached). It's from the main phone number listed for the business and she is acting as if it's a receptionist or automated system informing me that my appointment would be cancelled. The problem with that is most automated systems would use punctuation. I was immediately annoyed at the tone of the text. She was sorry to inform me but she wasn't sorry about not showing up to our appointment? It gets better....she continued to text me as if she was texting on behalf of someone else, she kept using the word "we". She offered to book me in with someone later in the day which I'm sure would end up being her. The text exchange continued long enough for me to realize that I did not want to take my business there, even if that meant missing out on the Groupon I had purchased. She didn't apologize, she wasn't being friendly, she didn't offer me anything for completely screwing up my morning and for my disappointment. If you're a business owner and you make a mistake like this, you go above and beyond to make it right, she did nothing of the sort. She even had the audacity to tell me that if I booked another appointment for the next week, she would need 24 hours notice for cancellation. I responded with "Oh sure, like you let me know 24 hours beforehand?" She ended up admitting that it wasn't car issue, that in fact she had made a mistake and that "mistakes happen" which I totally understand but when mistakes do happen and you're a business owner, you handle them a littttttle differently. I posted our exchange on instagram to warn people not to go there and I was surprised with the amount of people who DM'd me and said they had been there and she was either later or they were disappointed with the service they received. This whole situation is laughable and my warning to you is to stay far away before your time and money is wasted on lackluster service. read more
