It was the hardest decision ever, but I had to humanely euthanize my lovely dog this week and chose Serene Passages. -The booking process was simple yet thorough (they did need a letter from my vet signing off because my dog was so young, but otherwise I think you can just book it assuming your dog is old, or show proof they're terminally ill). -I called on a Monday and was able to get an appointment the next day. I was given a window of time the doctor would show up to my home, and updated several times on accurate arrival times once he was on his way. -The doctor was kind and compassionate. He let us sit with our girl and cry it out for as long as we needed before we were ready. He explained what would happen and walked us through every step as it happened. He was very delicate to hide the parts that were harder to watch, like the injections or any natural expression that happened post mortem. He let us know when she was finally at rest and sat with us while we grieved, waiting for me to give the sign that he could leave. -They had lots of options for cremation, urns, paw prints you can have made, etc. I did not use these services as we had a private alternative plan. -I paid $515 and they promptly provided me an itemized receipt to submit to insurance.

God Bless you all at Serene Passages. Thank you for the comfort and compassion. Although we will not need your services again, I highly recommend you to all.

Blitz enjoyed the outdoors!

Even as hard as it was to let Blitz go it was time. The unfortunate experience of letting him go was put at ease from the staff and Dr Scott! I would highly recommend this service if you need it. It hurts but the process eased our anxiety and the respect shown to us and Blitz even after passing is greatly appreciated!

Bentley in the sun

We had to make the hard decision to let our little boy, Bentley, go after a serious acute back condition left him unable to walk and in pain. We did not want to take him into the vet's office, because we knew that would just add to his fear and anxiety. Our regular vet recommended Serene Passages as an at-home alternative. From the moment we contacted them they were compassionate, professional and responsive. Don got us an appointment for the next day and kept us up to date on the schedule. Dr. Scott arrived precisely on time and was very kind and gentle from the moment he arrived. He explained exactly how the process would proceed. He accomodated all of our requests, so that we could sit in the sun in Bentley's favorite spot in the backyard while we sent him on his way peacefully. Serene Passages made a very difficult and emotional day just a bit easier. We'll be forever grateful for their care. -Tom and Mark

No animal lover wants to make the decision to put their beloved pet to sleep. It is one of the most difficult decisions you'll make in your life. When we heard home euthanasia was an option, we knew it was perfect for our 14 year old pup Tye, who was in end stage anal gland cancer. We like everyone, had hoped he would just pass in his sleep. I called three different euthanasia places one was unable to fit us in and referred us to Serene Passages. Which, in the end was the perfect fit for our family. One company wanted almost $1300k we're willing to spend that for our pup but it seemed so excessive. Serene passages charged $820. That was for Dr. Scott to come visit our home, administer medications, transport Tye and for his private cremation. This also included receiving Tye's ashes back in a spreading tube, a paw print, and a clipping of his fur. Dr. Scott was the sweetest human we've met. His warmth, and compassion, was felt by all of us present with Tye. Dr. Scott was so thorough, and made sure all family questions, and needs were met. He was soft, and loving, with Tye, as he helped us to ease his pain and prevent further suffering. As someone who worked in health care I've always said hospice nurses are angels on earth. We'll add the team at Serene Passages to that list too. The entire team was incredible as they walked with us on this journey. Letting us cry, letting us hug, and love, on our pup. Dr. Scott we love you and appreciate you! Thank you for your care, compassion, and gentleness, with our family on this difficult day, you're an angel!

Jan 28th 2025: We had to put our American Bulldog to rest. She was 15 years old and it was time as her health rapidly declined. The team at Serene Passages did an outstanding job of making a sad emotional and difficult situation as easy as possible. Nicole was the Veterinary Dr. who assisted our beloved dog in making a peaceful transition to rest. Nicole clearly cares and took a lot of time to get to know our dog Zylie before the process began. She reassured us that we were making the right decision by evaluating her age and condition and it was indeed time for her to rest. I can't give enough thanks to the team and especially Nicole, as can be imagined my wife and I were very distraught. Zylie made a very peaceful transition and went out with dignity and love. I don't know how Nicole does it but she has a God given super human gift to be able to put genuine care and love into each one of her patients. Thank you Team at Serene Passages for your service, support and professionalism during this difficult time.

Serene Passages made a very emotional and difficult day for our family as easy and painless as possible. They were empathetic through all steps of the process, from the scheduling to our final goodbye. Dr Malone was excellent. She talked us through every step of the process, gave us space and time to grieve, and allowed our 15 year old pup George to go out with the comfort and dignity he deserved. I was nervous at first going through this process at home, but I'll never do it different in the future. I know that allowing George to say goodbye, on his favorite bed, with his blanket and toys, surrounded by the humans that loved him, in his home, made his passing as peaceful and pain free for him as it could be. Thank you Serene Passages!

Dr Scott and Joy were amazing during this hard time as we put our 15 year old fur baby to rest. They explained everything along the way and let us drive the tempo of the process. Doing this at home was so comforting. Thank you for helping us and for helping Esteban over the rainbow bridge

It's been 7 months since our little mini dachshund, Stella, crossed the rainbow bridge. Calling Serene Passages was one of the most difficult decisions ever, but also one of the most compassionate ones. From beginning to end, Serene Passages did an amazing job. From the initial call to the follow up emails, everything felt so genuine. Dr. Ramirez was so patient, helpful, and kind during the dreaded appointment. A huge thank you to her and other doctors who give families the opportunity to say goodbye to their furry babies in the comfort of their own homes. You are all angels.

Frodo the Wonderdog
Todd F.

Saying goodbye to a beloved canine companion is painstakingly difficult. But Serene Passages was able to make the sad occasion less so. Dr. Nicole was so thoughtful and completely professional. She made the heartbreaking process compassionate and dignified for Frodo and myself. When it was time to make the difficult decision, I contacted a service that my vet had recommended, they were not available. Not only was Serene Passages accommodating, they were also less expensive than the other service. I couldn't recommend Dr. Nicole more highly.

They spoke to me like a human and held so much space for me, it didn't feel like they wanted to upsell or just take my money. Bryan put so much care into my urn package for my sweet Boba, and really made this process as easy as it can be. Deanna was so so sweet over the phone and shared a story of her pet with me as well. I hope I don't have to feel this pain for a while, but when the time comes with another pet I would not hesitate to come back to paws and claws aquamation. While I was looking at different businesses offering cremation services, I found that Paws and Claws Aquamation and Memorials differed in their process. Rather than traditional cremation, they offered aquamation which does a take a little longer but appeared to be a more gentler way for me to keep my dog's remains. Brian was super empathetic and patient with us, offering us a private moment with our girl. We ordered the private aquamation service, which was $295, and opted for a second set of paw prints for an additional $20. We also asked to keep the dog's bed. The whole process took a little over a week. I received a call when my dog's package was ready. Everything was packed well and deliberately put together with care. I also appreciated Brian saying that he hoped he did not have to see me again at his business (due to the fact that pet loss is a horrible experience). However, I really support this business and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a local business to cremate their beloved pets.

When it was close to our pet passing away, we found Only Cremations For Pets and spoke to Kayla…read more She answered all our questions about the process and services they would provide to our beloved dog, Ronni. She explained how we could watch as little or as much of the cremation process as we wished. She also explained the "Private Viewing" and what the entire package would cost and entail. The morning Ronni departed our life, we brought her to Only Cremations and they kept her for us until the viewing, which was a couple days later. The day of the viewing, we were already an emotional mess, but Brittany was there right away to show us the presentation of Ronni in the viewing room. She was beautiful and had a blanket laid over the lower half of her body. Ronni looked like she was peacefully sleeping. There was ambient lighting and somber, relaxing music playing, a vase of flowers nearby, a sofa, and of course a box of tissues for our use. We were given up to two hours to spend with Ronni in the private viewing room for us to say our last goodbyes. We felt grateful to see her beautiful face one last time. During this time, Aldair came in and took her clay paw prints and we also had some ink paw prints done. He did a great job capturing the definition of her paw prints. Both Brittany and Aldair made this time more supportable with their patience and compassion and the gentleness they had with our baby girl. When it was time for the cremation, we had to leave the viewing room and go to another room, as our 86 pound Ronni needed a larger cremator chamber. We were able to sit in this room and watch through a window as Aldair placed her into the compartment. We had previously viewed the entire cremation process with another pet of ours and wished to ensure we received only their cremains, with little chance of a mixture or unknown other pet being switched out. Sounds a little paranoid, but we've heard stories, and this way gave us peace of mind knowing we were definitely receiving Ronnie's cremains. After the cremation process, approximately 90 minutes later, Aldair carefully and thoughtfully prepared the cremains for us to be able to take our Ronni home with us in a nice wooden urn provided as part of the package. Brittany presented us with a fabric bag with the urn inside, along with the clay and ink paw prints, a certificate note of sorts, and a packet of flower seeds. We are so thankful for this experience your establishment provided. Some of the "mom and pop" stand alone facilities have been bought out by big chain corporations, and they do not provide this same service as you have given to us. It's almost as if they have something to hide or don't want you to see. You've provided us with the best farewell we could give Ronni and are so appreciative Dr. George Katcherian founded and created this location for us to give a compassionate goodbye to our loving pets.
