Missing the love of my life!
    Jackie B.

When the love of my life, Dinky, passed on Jan 19th, I knew I would find some comfort in Scott's cremation service as I had witnessed his genuine care and support after the passing of my roommate's dog. As the time came for Dink to be carried away by this angel from animal Heaven, Scott, I was at peace knowing that Dink would be safe in his loving hands. Scott goes above and beyond with his services from beginning to end and with the return of ashes. Even though I was already aware I was getting a clipping of Dinky's fur, when I received it, I immediately burst into tears because the clipping contained some of Dinky's white fur from his chest. My Dinky was all black except for this specific area where a patch of white fur formed a small cross on his chest. Scott must have carefully selected this spot knowing I would remember this special patch of white fur. Thank you Scott for this beautiful gift!

When my furry girl left us permanently we were all sorely hurt and our hearts were deeply broken; however, there simply are no words to describe how grateful we were the moment Scott, an angel in human disguise, carried my furry girl away, we knew Koffie would be well respected and carefully taken care of. Scott's service was exceptionally outstanding; I would have given 10 gold stars if I could.

Professional caring service from start to finish!! Because I knew my dog Jack was 16 and not getting any younger, I had emailed Scott to inquire about services. He promptly responded and explained the service he offered and how to contact him when services needed. 6 months later, the time came and Scott is a true professional. He explained how it would be handled, arrange the times bc and promptly. He texted me before arriving anc also when he was here. He collected Jack with minimal paperwork. Kept me informed of when Jack's remains would be returned, Scott has empathy, sincerity, and professionalism that made it such a pleasure to work with him and to know Jack was in good hands. If you see the pictures, Jack came back in a beautiful box with name plate. Careful consideration, time and love was placed into all the little things he included and how the packaging is put together. Those little unnecessary steps but that make you appreciate it more. Personalized stickers on everything, tape with pull tabs, stand for pawprint, rainbow bridge poem, wildflower seeds, urn in tissue and matching shredded purple packaging to hold everything in place. I highly recommend him and have already shared about his services with my sisters (who all have pets) because I'm very impressed.

We were greeted at the door by Scott the owner. I appreciate that it was one person (the owner) doing everything for the service, he was available by text for any questions and updates. It was a completely private cremation, that is why I chose them. I didn't even know that other places mix pet cremation remains or put them in together. I opted to drop off/pick up because I was very anxious and sad but he did offer.

We have been using this service for years. Scott is an amazing human. Treated us as family. My mother's fur baby just past. Molly past away in front of my mom for natural causes. She was devastated. Scott came to the rescue with the upmost, consulting, calming aura. My mother as sad as she was, was put into a calming state of mind. He voice is that unique. Thank you Scott for all your do.

I can't stress it enough Scott is compassionate and he did the whole process easy, When my heart was broken he took care of everything, came to pick up my cats body and treated him with lots of respect. He kept me updated thru out the whole process. I appreciate him very much. Now a piece of me (cat Eclipse) will remain close to me and my family. Thank You Scott !!!

Wooden urn, golden nameplate, flower seeds. Rainbow road poem.

I have never felt as much comfort as I felt from Scott and his company he made the process for choosing services for my dearly departed chihuahua panchita, you can truly feel the energy that Scott and his company brings whenever god decides to bring your fur babies to be with him I recommend going to gardens edge with Scott The package came with seeds as well as a poem regarding the rainbow bridge as well as what each package comes with.

Amazing communication to begin with and Amazing service to end with. We were going to use the same company that we used before but they actually increased the price quite a bit after just one year. Having to shop around more for a better price, we came upon Garden's Edge. We were actually worried about it being cheaper means not as good overall, but we were just so wrong. Scott took care of us really well. Very grateful, very thankful for the respect he has shown us and to our cat. You get a beautifully packaged box with your pet's paw print, partial of your pet's fur, and a pinch of plant seeds to grow on top if you decided to have a burial at home. Thoughtful. Highly recommended.

Losing a pet is extremely difficult, but Scott was kind, understanding and provided us with exceptional service. He responded to my texts quickly and arranged same day pick up. Scott took great care of our beloved cat and kindly returned his ashes (along with some of his fur clipping, his collar, a clay paw print, and some wildflowers to plant). If you want to give your beloved pet a proper goodbye, Scott is the person for you.

The staff appear professional, but the entire experience felt like a slow, calculated attempt to upsell me on every possible test--most of which had nothing to do with the reason I came in. My regular vet referred me here because it was close to home, and my cat needed a partial ear amputation due to skin cancer. All I wanted was a quote. Instead, the doctor refused to give any estimate until I completed a list of "recommended" diagnostics. Stage 1: Bloodwork -- nearly $700. Then suddenly my cat "had a heart murmur," and I was told anesthesia could kill him unless I pursued more testing. Stage 2: Full-body X‑rays + EKG -- another $600. Results came back normal. Great. But then came the next push: a heart ultrasound, because "X‑rays can't show everything." At this point, I had to ask myself: Do I even have a real choice? If the ultrasound confirmed a murmur, I'd be stuck in a no‑win situation: risk anesthesia or let the cancer spread. It felt like a manufactured dilemma designed to pressure me into more procedures. The doctor even guilt‑tripped me with, "If it were my pet, I'd do the ultrasound." That was the moment I realized how manipulative this was becoming. By now I'd spent over $1,300, and the ultrasound alone was quoted at $450-$600. Finally, after all of this, I got the surgery estimate: $2,200-$2,700 for a small ear amputation (see pictures) The breakdown was absurd--nickel‑and‑diming for every tiny item imaginable. Friends urged me to get a second opinion. So I went to an animal hospital on Figueroa. That doctor listened to my cat's heart twice and confidently said there was no murmur at all. He immediately offered to perform the surgery and gave me the price on the spot. $500. Total. Including overnight stay, biopsy, and medication. I was stunned. And furious. After being told my cat had a heart murmur, after being pushed into unnecessary tests ($1,700), after being quoted thousands ($3,000 plus) for a basic procedure... another vet told me the exact opposite and charged a fraction of the price. Mind you this was the price 7 years ago. I walked away feeling completely misled. Fellow Yelpers, be forewarned: don't let friendly interactions fool you.

She helped us walk our precious Stella over the Rainbow bridge in the beauty of silence, reverence, and peace, it was so beautiful. Dr. Erica sent us the most amazing sympathy card a few days later that touched my heart deeply. Honor Pet has not only been there throughout this difficult journey, but their kindness, compassion, professionalism and guidance have meant more to me and my family than they can ever know. We had the pleasure of Dr. Susan Chao come out to our home on Friday, March 20. We had a 9 am appointment (the first one of the day) and she arrived a little before. She had called me about 15 minutes prior to let me know that she would be arriving within 15 minutes. When she arrived, my husband and I greeted her and had her walk to our backyard, as this was the place I had wanted for our little girl because she loved being in the backyard to sunbathe. Dr. Chao was wonderful at guiding us through the process, explaining every step of the way and allowing us to take our time to say goodbye to Muffin. She also allowed us to give Muffin treats during the process (Muffin's last meal was a chicken nugget from Burger King and pureed chicken that Dr. Chao brought, which Muffin really did enjoy eating). Dr. Chao also did cut a piece of Muffin's fur for us to keep and placed it in a small plastic box, which she put in a small mesh bag and gave it to us as a keepsake. Muffin passed away on March 20, 9:31 am. Dr. Chao gave us some time to spend with Muffin right after and just walked towards the side of the house so that we could have privacy. Afterwards, she placed Muffin in a basket and then we walked with her towards the front of the home so that she could take Muffin with her to eventually be cremated. About two weeks later, I contacted Hearts and Halos to ask if Muffin's ashes were ready for us to pick up (please note that the company can also mail your pet's ashes to you, but we just preferred to pick it up in person). I had a hard time getting ahold of them via telephone, so I emailed the company and was able to arrange for a pickup time. I was told via email that someone was supposed to contact us that day that I had emailed them about Muffin's ashes though... This past Thursday, my husband and I went to Gardena to pick up Muffin's ashes (please note that Hearts and Halos office is now in transition to moving to Hungtinton Beach). When we arrived, an employee came out and gave us a small gift bag, that held her ashes, seeds to plant in her memory and also a small brochure regarding aftercare and additional resources for the grieving process. I do like the box that her ashes came in and also I love the small wooden heart with her name engraved on it and a small halo right above her name. The total cost for these services is $840 (you can pay via check, cash or credit card). You can also have additional items, such as an urn (which cost $60) or your pet's paw print, that will cost extra. If you do not wish to have your pet's ashes back, the cost would go down to $675, in which your pet will be part of a communal process to preserve their ashes and then will be scattered in the company's memory garden. Just as a price comparison, when we had to put down our other 2 dogs at the vet (both of our other dogs were of an emergent case and so we would not have been able to plan for their euthanasian earlier and so we would not have been able to utilize these home euthanasia services even if we had known about them at the time), at minimum, it would have cost $455 if we had made an appointment and had this service done during the day. However, both times we had to rush our dogs to the vet were during after hours and without an appointment, so the cost was around $560, which also did include their ashes. So, these home pet euthanasia services can cost an additional $100- $300 more but we felt it was worth the cost. We did not have to rush and deal with the stress and anxiety of the car ride from our home to the vet and also sit in the waiting room while they prep our dog and then say goodbye to them in the vet's office (where both of our dogs really hated going to the vet). The ability to allow Muffin to be in the comfort of her own home and to have foods that she enjoyed during the process was worth it for us. I highly recommend home pet euthanasia at home if you can afford it. I like to think that this was the much better choice for Muffin and hope that she was happy with her chicken treats right before she left us, keeping her in good spirits than to be stressed and anxious if we had chosen to bring her to the veterinarian instead. Thank you Hearts and Halos for helping us during this process.
