During spa week I bought the laser package for chin/stomach/under arms @$50 for each area for 6 treatmnts. The first 4 treatmnts went w/o a hitch& I saw results on my 1st treatmnt. The pain wasn't pleasant but tolerable.My hairs were growing slowly& lighter but they were still persistent. I askd Daria if by the end of my sessions my hair would come no more& she assured me yes.On my 4th the treatmnt; that's when things went sour. After my 4th treatmnt I scheduld my 5th treatmnt& facial for the afternoon.Of course the day comes & I'm running so late (first time, mind U).I called "I'm running extremely late, I'm so sorry! I should be there soon". I arrive& Daria is at the front desk. She looks @ the time& says (while other customers present) "wow, U R very late.(No sh*t) I'm not sure we can take U" I understood because it was my fault& said I would reschedule.She said "I'll see what I can do& next time when U plan on being late please let us know in advance so we can accommodate". In return I said "I never planned on being late". I was clearly flustered w/ this comment. I work in customer service &have never made the customer like sh*t .Galina took me to do my facial (my first time). She told me to go into a room. I never got a facial B4 so I didn't know what to do. She came by a few minutes later, said that I had to take my top off& put the towel wrap on& askd if I ever got a facial B4, I said no.she apologized& instructed on what to do.I was still flustered from B4& even more because she assumed that this was routine for me.The facial wasn't bad&Galina was nice. So because she was nice& because I'm a sucker& can't say no, I purchased a 3-facial package of $266.48. Now for the laser, 5th treatmnt: I really didn't want to get it done that day because I was still annoyed. But I thought, it's already paid for only 2 more to go! When she started, I felt that the setting was higher than normal because it was unbearable for me! I told her I need a break& askd her why it felt more intense. She said "because U came in very excited& that's why U R extra sensitive". WOW, I was speechless. @ this point I felt that I would never come back But I had 1 more treatmnt to go& will request a refund for the purchased package on the following business day. I just wantd to get out of there! I called that Monday& left a message. No one called back. I called again, talked to Daria& said I had to talk to Galina about it& that the refund is up to her. Fine. Galina doesn't call me until after my third call because she was busy, I understood. I explained I wantd a refund as I should have never purchased this package in the 1st place as I have major expenses coming up because I am getting married this year. She advised that refunds R only given In the form of store credit which states on my receipt. I said, I never saw that in the store B4& thought to myself why would U let customers know of this rule until AFTER they make a purchase? I told her store credit will not work for me because I don't plan on coming back to Serene Max.She askd why, I said I won't say but it had nothing to do w/ my facial treatmnt. She said she will see what she can do as it's not up to her, it's up to some guy named john? (That's possibly the wrong name). A few days later she advised that john? Has approved a refund of $150. I guess something's better than nothingbut I was& still unhappy. *Note:after my 5th treatmnt hairs started growing more coarse and rapidly. I have my suspicions on why this is. My last laser treatmnt: I askd Daria if it was normal for my hairs to grow thicker& faster. She said it was absolutely normal.(Really?This is my last treatmnt, shouldn't it be the other way around!?)the laser was still unbearable! I told her to stop& askd why did it feel worse?! She said U R sensitive today like last time because it was on the same setting as last time.I askd her if she increased the settings, she said sternly "Natalie, the settings R the same as last time" I said, I didn't ask U that, I askd if U increased the settings @ all, since my 1st session. She askd if I wantd her to lower the setting& I said that is the only way I will continue. W/ the lowered setting it was so much better! I didn't understand why my settings were increased w/o my knowledge& if they were increased for any reason, why not explain why? After the session was over she then had the nerve to ask me if I wantd to purchase anymore packages. I kept my cool& said not @ this time (or ever). After my last treatmnt, my hairs R growing noticeably thicker&faster as if I never went to get laser hair removal! I also want to note she has tendencies of smart remarks. She complemented me in my nail color, I said thank U it's actually gel & that it's been over aweek &still looked good She said "I can see your nails do not grow fast". Why? Just why?W/ that being said, I will be reporting my experience,this establishment& business practice to whomever I need to. This is unacceptable! read more

Daria is terrific and very pleasant. Laser is a painful process and Daria always let me take a breath to settle. The cream they offer to reduce pain isn't very effective and is expensive, so I declined and bought a topical spray myself. I am very pleased with the physical results. read more

For years i had interest in lasering my unwanted hair since i consider myself genetically hairy but was afraid to do so, however, my friend Vasana (who had been going to her for a year at that point) had convinced me to try with her laser technician. Serene Max is the "Best of Best" in terms of technology, knowledge, skill,.Excellent and Very professional! very knowledgeable of the lasers. which is the most important thing. Their facility is clean and equipped with the latest technology in the market. This was definitely a great experience! Daria made me feel very comfortable. Daria is very skilled and knowledgeable, experienced, patient, made me feel very comfortable and you will never have to worry about missing spots. she does a great job! If you compare it with other places in the city, Serene Max probably is less expensive. trust me, this place is worth it. I used to go to dermatologist and spent so much money and i ended up with bad experience. I love Serene Max-have had multiple lasering sessions now. Very clean, comfortable atmosphere. Daria is amazing, super professional and always puts me at ease. She knows I'm a big baby, so numbing cream or ice is a must for me and always offered (in my opinion, numbing with ice is the way to go!) Went to Serene Max last week and absolutely loved it!! This was my first time getting laser hair removal and Daria was so nice! She sat me down and explained everything to me..she made me feel so comfortable which was great because i did the brazilian...yikes! Ive waxed and sugared and this was painful but not as painful as the others. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because she did an extra part of my body and didnt tell me it was going to cost more...that was fun to find out as i was leaving -__- But i did buy a package deal! I had laser hair removal done at this spa. I was told that the laser they were using was the authentic laser, which was a thin beam, requiring that my esthetician had to spend much more time going up and down my legs. I had been very pleased with the professionalism during my appointment, which I had booked during spa week. This laser does hurt a bit more than other treatments I've had done elsewhere, but my hair did not grow back for another 8+ months. I would go back to this spa. read more

It was my first time getting a photo facial laser. I have a lot of freckles and my friend suggested serene max, since she had hair removal laser done. The service was great, the technician helped me understand how the laser works and what I would expect in the following hours of the treatment. I loved the place and her attitude, everything about my experience assured me that she knew what she was doing. The laser went will just as described, at the end my face was a bit red and she didn't just say bye and kick me out, she allowed me to sit in the back with some tea and snacks until I felt comfortable to leave. When I was ready she gave me instruction and a pack of ice and suggested a cooling cream, which I thought was very useful since I use it until this day. When I had a question later that day, in which she was available right away to answer my questions when I called, this reassured me that she cared and wanted to help.
