As a Christmas gift, my neighbor & her daughter got me pedicure. I was tasked with picking the place & time. With everything being by appointment only & trying to go somewhere local, I chose Serendipity. A friend of mine also recommended I try it. It's basically next to impossible to get a weekend appointment because of high demand, but luckily I work 2 minutes up the road & we snagged an appointment for 6:20. My neighbor & I got the "Heel Peel" pedicure, and her daughter (she's 8) got something like a "junior pedicure" or something (not sure). They are practicing COVID safety very well. You either call or text when you arrive to be let in. You pay ahead, as well. The room we were brought to had plexiglass between each chair. The sanitizing products they use were on deck & ready to use between each customer. We were the only 3 in the room, so it worked out anyway. We each had our own technician; they were all nice & fun to chat with. There wasn't anywhere to hang our coats or place our stuff, but it was out of the way (we set things on the floor beside us). The only part that I would say I disliked was the little time for the nail polish to dry. My toes were finished 2nd to last & they had only been drying for about 8 minutes. They said it would only need about 10 minutes, but being someone who paints their nails on a regular basis, I wanted to give at least 15. My neighbor's toes were done last & hers had only been drying for about 5 minutes. The spa was approaching closing time, which understandably we didn't want to be in their way, but I really don't think mine or my neighbor's nails were dry yet. We didn't bring sandals or flip flops because it had just snowed & frankly, I didn't think to bring any. One of the technicians came in to "check" the dryness, said we should be all set & returned to closing up. So we put our socks & shoes back on. I got home & my nails were all ruined. It was a big time bummer. My feet & heels were super soft & felt great, though! I would love to come back. I'll make an appointment with my mom & maybe try one of the other services they have. I took my mother here for her birthday. She's never had a spa day so she got a 30 minute massage and a pedicure. I got a 30 minute massage and a manicure. In terms of Covid safety, we felt super safe here. They wore mask and had plexiglass up. Everyone was so kind and sweet, which is why I gave three stars. I would have given 3.5 if it was an option. My deep tissue massage was the best I've ever had and I wished I could have booked a longer session! My mother mentioned to her massage therapist that she has cancer and the woman told her she wasn't sure if she could give her a massage. She had to leave the room and ask someone if she was allowed to give my mother a massage, which made my mom feel a little upset which I felt bad about since it was supposed to be a day for her to forget about that. The person who did my manicure was super nice, but I'm not sure about how experienced she was. I noticed the manicure taking a while and it felt like she was really unsure of the techniques. She did not apply a base coat and applied the polish I chose very thick with no method. There was no fan to use in between coat applications and she needed to redo one nail due to it being too wet. The top coat moved the polish around from it not being dry and it wasn't applied evenly. And again, no dryer at the end. It's been two days and my nails are already starting to chip a little. All in all, I've gotten way better manicures for $12 and this one cost me $26. They didn't warn my mom about the pedicure bowl being full on water before she stepped in so her pant leg ended up totally soaked, but that wasn't a huge deal. They never offered disposable slippers so she could let her polish dry in the car and they told her it was fine to put her socks and boots on. She ended up getting home and of course, her polish had fabric imprints. Not what I expected from a $43 pedicure at all. I would absolutely come back for massages, but I won't be back for any nail services. read more

I booked myself the "half day away" which consisted of a facial, massage, and pedicure. I had been looking forward to this for a MONTH, and really wanted to love it. The woman who did my facial was super sweet, and it was my favorite part of the experience. The only thing is now it's been two days and my skin is really dry and irritated and I started breaking out (which never happens to me). This was my first facial and I expected my skin to be glowing and feel rejuvenated but it unfortunately does not.. The massage was okay, but I wish it was deeper and got the knots out of my back. I got the Swedish massage, but maybe I should have asked for the deep tissue. I also had a water bottle with me because I tend to feel dizzy after getting massages and the women told me food/drinks were not allowed in the establishment but never offered me water or anything after it was done. The pedicure was the worst part of the experience and the reason for two stars. First of all, there is no where to put your belongings and when I asked where to put my jacket she told me to put everything on the floor. I had gel polish on my toes, and I was told that there would be a slight upcharge to get it taken off. She then said that she "hoped: she would have enough time to finish my pedicure...to take off the gel polish it probably only took an extra 5 minutes. She rushed through the rest of my pedicure and the paint job was horrible. She also told me that since I brought boots I had to purchase flip flops.. they were not given like they are most places. Those plus the upcharge for the polish removal costed me an extra 15 dollars! I was shocked because the pedicure was expensive to begin with for what was offered. I already paid for services and the nail tech awkwardly walked me to the front to ensure that the woman would charge me the extra expense. Overall I was pretty disappointed with my experience and will sadly not be returning. I am new to the area and was hoping to find regular spot but I guess this isn't it! read more

Here's the deal. I went here for one reason and one reason only. Then I saw everything else they offer and I want to try some other services. The reason I went was to do the float tank. I'm a big fan of Joe Rogan And he speaks of the benefits of the float tank frequently. It was really an incredible way to spend an hour. Here's my experience Very professional staff. The shower was very clean The instructions for the pod were clear I chose to do the first 10 minutes with the meditation music and dark. Then I did 40 minutes with no sound or light. Just floated. Then I turned on the interior light and the music again. I look forward to doing it again soon. I feel light as a feather as sit and type this. Give it a try. Well worth the money! read more

I got a deep tissue massage as a gift and I was super excited about it! Reading the reviews online & judging by the wait after booking I was anxious to get in and see the hype! The place was super clean, very comforting and "home-y". It's only when I was getting the massage where things started to turn downhill a bit. I expressed to my massage therapist that I've been having issues deep within my hip/ low back and if possible I'd like some attention on my lats. She then proceeded to spend the entire session focusing on my upper back in between my shoulder blades which wasn't really an issue for me, & before I knew it the session was over. To make matters slightly worse is that I'm 99% sure that she was dripping sweat on me the whole time. I didn't have the heart to say anything but wherever she was standing I felt consistent drops of something. Not her fault, people sweat, it's natural, but it definitely killed my vibe. I can't be too picky, after all it was a gift. But for the price of the session that my clients payed + gratuity I was hoping that she would have listened more and focused on the areas I wanted to be focused on. read more

I booked a deep tissue massage for my boyfriend who has never had one. I used the online booking system, and received confirmation that the appointment was all set, and that they had my Visa on file so that it would be charged at time of service. I filled out all the necessary paperwork with his information, printed the confirmation email, and gave it to him for Christmas. On the day of the appointment, I called in the morning to make sure the appointment was in his name, not mine. I explained I had booked an actual appt. instead of a gift card because he would never use the gift card, The receptionist I spoke to was very helpful (only reason I'm giving one star), found the appt. and switched it in his name. My boyfriend arrived at his appt. 20 min. early and followed instructions to call. He explained he had never done this before, that his girlfriend had booked him an appt. for Christmas. Somehow the receptionist he spoke to assumed this meant a gift card, so checked that database, couldn't find him. Finally found him only to tell him it wasn't paid for and he had to pay. So much for this being a Christmas gift. He explains to her that he doesn't want to pay, he was only doing this because it was a Christmas gift. She then asks him if he is cancelling and he advised that he guesses so. She proceeds to tell him about the cancellation fee, but tells him she will leave a note for manager and he should be ok. At this point he is pretty upset and stressed, calls me to tell me they are saying it hasn't been paid for. I tell him to look at the confirmation print out, which clearly shows that my visa is on hold for the appt. to be charged at time of service. Regardless, I call myself to clear things up. The receptionist explains to me that he has now cancelled the appt. I tell her he still wants it, and asked her why they didn't charge the card on file. She states there is no card on file, which I explain is weird cause I'm looking at a confirmation email that clearly says you do. Again, regardless I give my card info again. At this point it is now a few minutes past his appt., through no fault of his own. The receptionist lets me know that they are running behind as it is so to tell him come on in now. She apologizes for all the mix up, which redeems her in my eyes (again, one star for the receptionists). Now, about the massage therapist. I imagine that there are quite a few people out there who have never had a professional massage before. There is something to be said about first impressions, especially if you are in a service industry. A new timer is a great opportunity for a first impression, leading to possible repeat business and referrals. I wish my boyfriend had gotten the name of his therapist but unfortunately didn't. But she failed, miserably. She was incredibly condescending and rude. She made him feel so uncomfortable he almost got up from the table without letting her finish. I am so sad and disappointed that what was supposed to be a Christmas gift to help him relax and de -stress, turned into anything but. He nor I, will be returning customers. read more

Nail service review only: I want to love them. I've had a pedicure here twice and gel manicure 3 times. Each time the gel manicure chipped and/or peeled off completely after just a few days. I've never had the peeling problem before. Pedicures always last at least 3 weeks for me and one nail completely peeled off after 6 days. The staff are all super nice and the space itself is beautiful, I've just never been happy with the nail results. read more

Great little day spa! Located in a renovated home. Very cozy. Did the 'Half Day Away'- 1 hr Swedish massage, signature facial, pedicure and light cuisine. The massage was great- very relaxing! The facial was relaxing as well- I felt maybe more relaxing than cleansing though. Pedicure was super fun- no massagers in the chairs and no where to dry your nails afterward. But a very cozy atmosphere in the room, the ladies obviously love what they do. The food- just a simple salad, but perfect for the day. mixed greens, tomatoes and cucumbers and lots of dressing choices. total of about 4hours and $160 before tip. All in All a great day! Best way to sum up this place is a spa with true New England charm. I have purchased gift certificates from this establishment on many occasions and had rave reviews from everyone I send here. I hadn't been myself for a massage, but after reading that they were awarded the "Best Spa in New Hampshire" this year, I figured I should give them a try myself. I was extremely pleased. From the hostess offering me water or coffee the moment I sat in the relaxation room to the massage therapist handing me my coat at the door off the coat rack, the attention to detail and quality of a deep tissue massage I received was top notch. I traveled from Manchester (where there are other spas) to go to Serendipity, and I will absolutely do so in the future to get another service or to purchase more gift certificates for others. Got a couples spa retreat. It was mediocre at best. Our massage wasn't an actual massage but more of a lotion rub down. The facial was nice but the technician was chomping on gum and had smokers breath, not great for an up and close facial.The pedicure was subpar... no massage, cold water, no magazines. Also, they started cleaning while we were here getting our treatments. Not very relaxing to be staring at an open cleaning closet. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly. read more

I've had nothing but great, professional services here. I have done massages, pedicures and spray tanning. I LOVE the spray tan. It is a great bronze color but if you're as pale as I am, it will fade quicker and somewhat spotty, so make sure to exfoliate before going and that will help that splotchiness not happen! My pedicure was great, it was different than the ones I'm used to at the typical Asian nail salons, but in a good way. My massages are always great and I have always been asked if it's the right pressure, it's relaxing and wonderful. Only once did I have a masseuse who was a little too chatty but she was so friendly, I didn't even care. I need to try the float therapy next!! read more

Just called to see about booking an appointment for a facial for Saturday. The person who answered was very polite in telling me that there weren't any appointments available on Saturday and then proceeded to say "Thank you for trying" and hung up. No really, hung up on me before I even had a chance to ask about a future appointment. I have a gift card and was hoping to schedule for another day. Unfortunately though, I was disconnected before given a chance to ask about a different appointment. I was dumbfounded and a bit hesitant to call back. I am at work and my surrounding coworkers overheard the brief conversation and were in awe as well. I decided to reach out via email to see about redeeming my gift card for the cash value. I understand that this is not typically the norm, but given what I had just experienced, I had no desire to redeem the gift card for any type of service. Here is the response: "So sorry Dawn but unfortunately, we do not offer refunds on our gift certificates. I whole heartedly believe you must have misunderstood the tone or abruptness of your recent phone conversation. We are more than happy to help you find a day in the very near future to accommodate you for that facial. Our manager will be reaching out to schedule that appointment with you. We look forward to both speaking and scheduling that appointment for you! Serendipity Day Spa" So apparently I misunderstood being hung up on. I did also receive a voice mail from the manager. When I called back, again I was spoken over because 'yes this has been a very busy week since it's NH's April vacation and last week's was MA's, and Saturday has been booked for quite some time'. I have had lots of gel manicures. Although, Devon was nice, she barely trimmed my cuticles, managed to get polish on my cuticles and did nothing to moisturize my hands or fingers. So I left with dry hands, scratchy looking cuticles that were barely touched and some gel polish. All in time for an out of town wedding. 2 stars for a clean environment, but find someplace else for proper nail grooming. read more

I had heard a lot about this spa on the radio, so I decided to try it out. It was not the experience I thought it would be. While I was waiting the receptionist and the owner Holly were making fun of a customer that had just left. It was incredibly unprofessional. The look of the spa was ok, nothing special. My massage was nothing to write home about, I believe I had Laura. Since then I have heard similar experiences from friends that have gone there. I have not heard anything positive about their customer service and have heard horrible things about the owner. I will never go back or recommend Serendipity to anyone. My daughter, Elizabeth, is away from our home near Savannah, GA, attending physical therapy school at Franklin Pierce University in Concord, NH. This is her first year being so far away from home, and the first time she would not be able to enjoy her birthday with family. Accordingly, being in a far-away place and not really knowing many people, she was somewhat depressed about this. In an effort to make her happy, I decided to purchase her a spa package at a local spa in (or near) the Concord area. Fortunately, there were several from which to choose, and I decided to take a chance on Serendipity Day Spa, which was the closest to my daughter's residence. Serendipity Day Spa is located in a rural area, in a 218-year old farm house, which also intrigued me, considering Elizabeth was reared in a rural farming environment. To get directly to the point. Serendipity Day Spa was FANTASTIC in listening to my needs and sympathetic to my need to make my daughter's birthday very special! I ended up purchasing the Ultimate Spa Package, which involved a good half-day of treatments. Not only did they work to get my daughter scheduled for her ultimate spa package, they reworked their already busy schedule so that she could enjoy her spa day on her birthday ... but wait ... their accommodations did not end there! Serendipity Day Spa, at no extra charge, provided Elizabeth with a beautiful bouquet of flowers when she arrived AND prepared her a beautiful birthday cake! How sweet and thoughtful is that! Afterwards my daughter called me and told me what a fabulous time she had! According to Elizabeth, the facilities at Serendipity Day Spa are EXCELLENT, and the staff extremely competent and professional. Elizabeth raved about the deep tissue massage and stated it was one of the best massages she had ever had! She stated that the staff treated her like a queen, and like she was the only person in the world! Special thanks goes out to Kristin and Holly for going the extra mile to make this a most special day for my daughter. They went waaaay above and beyond the call of duty to satisfy the needs of a long-distance customer. That says a lot about their commitment to customer service and their desire to ensure a wonderful experience with their establishment. In today's commerce, where "customer no-service" tends to be the norm, such dedication is a rare commodity, and for me, a customer, is a breath of fresh air. Based on my initial experience ...YES ... I recently went in for the Half Day Away package... facial, massage and pedicure. First service was the facial, the room was small but very comfortable. The girl doing my facial had a VERY light touch, almost too light. By the time she was finished I didn't feel like my face was any more clean than when I got there. I was given a robe to wear and a bag to carry my things from room to room. Next service was the massage upstairs. Most places I've been to have lockers to store your things in, they don't have them here unfortunately so I had to carry my winter jacket, boots, and bag of clothing. To get upstairs from the facial they have you walk in your robe, no slippers unless you bring your own (so I was in my socks), past the entrance and front desk (if you go in the winter you'll be stepping in wet snow from peoples shoes), through the waiting area which was full when I went, and upstairs. The transition from room to room was really uncomfortable and NOT private... walking in a robe and socks lugging around my belongs in front of husbands sitting in the waiting area does not make for a relaxing spa experience. The 60 minute massage (done by Moira) was amazing, one of the best massages I've ever had. The room was comfortable and clean. Last service was the pedicure. Back downstairs (thankfully in my clothes because they have you get dressed after the massage) through the waiting area and past the front desk. The pedicure room was DIRTY. There was no where to put my jacket and boots so they went on the floor next to my chair. There were cords everywhere, stuff piled up behind the pedicure chairs, dirty carts holding all the "tools". The first chair I was in stopped working so I had to get up and move to another one during the pedicure... not their fault but another "not relaxing" part of the experience. I was given my "light cuisine" which was crackers, cheese, grapes, and chocolate covered something... raisins maybe? It was served on a slate tile which I thought was really cute. They don't have magazines or anything in there so I looked out the window the whole time. The woman doing the pedicure did a great job, it's been 3 weeks and the polish still looks perfect. When she was finished she asked if I brought flip flops to go and wait in the waiting area. I told her I wasn't aware I was supposed to so would have to wait here. She seemed a little irritated that I would be holding up the pedicure chair for 15 minutes while my toes dried. I paid and went to my car to leave... looked in my rear view mirror to back out and I had dried face mask in my hairline and around my nose still. Overall, I was expecting A LOT more for $170 (not including tip) and because of all the great reviews this place get. I would only go back to get a massage... and I'll bring my own slippers. read more

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE - cancel your appointment if you have one, find a different spa, you will thank me. I went in knowing they water down their peels significantly, that a 30% gycolic peel is not really a 30% gycolic peel. I'm not sure if this is illegal or not, but they do it. I knew this going in, but hey for $20 on a 30% peel, I'll take a weaker peel. (note- I've had a former employee of Serendipity Day Spa who I trust explain to me that they water it down.) It started off when I asked for a 5th gycolic peel (i had already pre-paid for 5), over the phone. The woman asked if I wanted a full facial, which I then replied back "I have a last gycolic peel i'm using in my set. Turns out a"full facial" is a euphemism for facial and back massage, not the $20 facial, but now it is 70$ for something I never wanted. I didn't even bring money with me to the appointment because it was pre-paid. I was embarrassed, and had 3 woman all looking at me like I messed up, even though I repeatedly just asked for my last pre-paid gycolic peel. I had to call someone I knew, and ask them for $70 outright. It was very embarrassing, and the employees that I dealt with were either defensive or irritated. I worked in retail, I know companies are struggling, and sometimes you have to do small things to turn a sale into a bigger sale - but this, come on, that is shady to the point of illegal. The last straw however was today when I went to get a maintenance peel. It was $20, I had exactly $20, and I was dying for an exfoliate - my skin badly needed it. Last time was unfortunate and not pleasant, but I hoped for very little, just a less-than-decent exfoliation. Instead what I got, was even less than what I could have possibly imagined. The peel, as a former employee told me, I presume was watered down. I'm a bit shy, but I made sure to tell her that I've had 7-10 peels before, (someone bought me a series of 5 to this place). All in the hopes I would get a less-than-average peel. Well, I didn't even receive that. What I got was a 3 minute watered down peel (most peels I've done have been 10-15 minutes, with multiple layers - even inexpensive peels do this.) I knew it felt quick, but being shy and trusting the employee, I hoped for the best. She waited for me to leave, so I couldn't even look at it in the mirror. It felt like a lackluster peel, like I've had better using basic products in my bathroom. When I got home I realized that my initial "crazy" thought was correct. It looked like nothing had been done to my face. The reason I'm writing this, is because regardless of whether or not what they did was illegal, it felt like I had $20 stolen from me. It really feels like they stole $20 from my pockets. I regret not asking her for a longer peel, but in those moments, discombobulated from the gym,a long day, it doesn't cross your mind - besides, perhaps the peel will feel tight at home. This is the third horrible experience in three trips. Go here at your own risk, knowing that you are getting far far sub-par services, that you could get at other spa's. Even their massage was disappointing as well. There's a good spa in Windham, or manchester. If you wish, you can take the risk here, but just know they will exercise their business expertise to get the most money out of you, with the least service possible. read more

I had a massage and reflexology with Moira, and she was terrific! Very relaxed, and yet she still got to some good sized knots. One of the better massages I have had in a long time - going back again today. Not impressed with the front desk. I called and left messages on two different days, before I drove down there to make an appointment. When I explained that to the girl at the front, she didn't even apologize for no one calling me back - very hurried and cold. Another girl called me back later that day (from my previous phone messages) who was very sweet and helpful. It seems like one bad apple at the front desk may be giving the place a bad name. If you get this girl, push through and make an appointment. You won't be disappointed! read more

So far I've been to Serendipity Day Spa twice. The first time was with my boyfriend for a couples massage and I have to say it was the best massage that I've had. Both my boyfriend and I left very happy. The second experience I had was a couple days ago. They were running behind and after 15 minutes of waiting past my appointment the girl came in apologizing and asking if she could get me anything while I waited. Another 15 minutes passed and then I was taken to get my pedicure. I was a bit irritated at first, but realized these things happen sometimes. The woman who did my pedicure did a wonderful job and I had such a pleasant conversation with her. After when I went to pay they apologized again and gave me a discount for waiting. I think their services and customer service go above and beyond. They seem to really care about their customers and making sure they leave happy. I'll definitely be returning again. read more

I purchased a couples retreat package for Christmas for my wife and a friend in which she recently used. The experience was downhill from the beginning the girl at the counter could not understand that one of the clients was already entered into their system and wanted her to refile her information twice. The appointment was for 4pm and did not get started until 415pm with the massage first in which the girls had to undress for the massage and than get dressed after the massage and then there was the facial, in which they had to get undressed again, when asked about Robes to wear nobody had taken the time to see what package was purchased and therefore no Robes were ever issued. The snacks consisted of horrible cheap wine and descent cheese and crackers. The pedicure was last and the room in which this happened was cold and they were offered blankets, the workers had also commented on how cold it was in the room. The Windows looking outside were covered in plastic in which was unappealing at best. When the girls were leaving and checking out that ther was a credit of $4.00 in which my wife explained that the total package and tip was paid for in advance the girl at the counter could not understand and my wife had to show her their pamphlet and review the prices with the employee. I got a gift card for the Half Day Away Spa Package for Valentine's Day, and when I looked at the Yelp reviews I got worried about what I might experience. The day far exceeded my expectations. When I called to make an appointment, the person I spoke to was very friendly and accommodating. I am pregnant, so I needed to make sure they had someone who could do a prenatal massage (which they substituted for the Swedish Massage that the package includes without blinking an eye) and make sure that any other services were adjusted according to my needs. When I arrived at the spa, I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist and waited in a cozy "relaxation room" with a fire going while I filled out some paperwork. The massage (done by Bridget) and facial and pedicure (both done by Katie) were super relaxing and felt great. I was given a wrap, soft robe, and flip flops to wear in between treatments so I didn't have to dress and undress again. It took me a few tries to get comfortable on the table while getting my facial because of my pregnancy, but Katie was very friendly and patient, offering suggestions and letting me know she was flexible with however I needed to lay. I'm a massage therapist so I like to go around to different places and see what they have to offer. I also love to try out other massage therapists to see what kind of "moves" they have. My massage was okay but the facility was dreadful! Being a therapist I know what proper sanitation in a treatment room should look like and I always check to make sure the table warmers are properly protected from any and all bodily fluids. There was no barrier between the sheet and the table warmer so any sweat or other bodily fluid could get right through and soak into the table warmer. Those table warmers are nearly impossible to clean! They can't be machine washed because of the wires inside them so they have to have some kind of waterproof barrier on top of them!!!!! Besides the completely unsanitary tables the whole place looked tired and dusty. I can see that they were trying to decorate the place to look homey and comfortable but if you have decorations around they need to be dusted. I would not recommend this place if cleanliness is a priority of yours. read more
