Serena is located on the rooftop of the Moxy Miami South Beach Hotel. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor. It is by the beautiful swimming pool. It is decorated with foliage, palm trees, and flowers. The interior is in colors of burgundy, blues, pinks and darker woods. It looks very inviting. Good music and a good mixed crowd. We decided to sit by the pool and the server from Serena waited on us. Her name is Fabiola. She seemed quite busy and kept forgetting to bring us our Margaritas and napkins. We had to remind her a couple of times. I can't say that service was the best but we decided to have a good time anyway. We also ordered the Chicken and cheese quesadillas plus guacamole and chips. They were good but the margaritas bothered our digestive systems that evening and the next day. Everything is ok but we would order something different next time we visit.

Really cool place. Food and drinks on the rooftop. Very comfortable. Service is prompt and accommodating. Wait staff more than helpful. The evening we were there they had a DJ. He was really good. From what I understand they have several different events in the evenings. Definitely worth the stop.

sola pero acomponada

Been here a few times now, I've always just walked in during happy hour and had no problems being seated. I prefer sitting at the bar, but there are lots of tables to accommodate all group sizes. As expected with a rooftop you are subject to the weather of the day. Service has always been great here, your glass is always full. The margs are good and so is the sola pero acomponada (if you like mezcal). For food we had chips and guac, some tacos, and nachos. Didn't particularly like the tartare tacos, but everything else is great!

Came here as I wanted a rooftop restaurant vibe when visiting Miami. This place is located at the top of the Moxy Hotel. I started off with the Chips & Salsa, and Chips & Cheese. Both were good and the chips were very fresh. I wish they gave more chips out since the spreads were very big. For my main, I ordered the Chicken Quesadillas. They were pretty good but very cheesy and not a lot of chicken in it. Overall, the food and ambiance were good!

The food was okay. Stopped in for quick lunch- didn't care at all for the dips, although guacamole was fresh. Fish tacos were neither bad nor great. Although the burger looked delicious, it tasted a bit sour to us. Didn't like signature margarita.

This is a rooftop bar/restaurant in the Moxy Hotel at South beach. We were visiting Miami to show our 17yr old daughter U of Miami and stayed at the Moxy. The Serena restaurant is beautifully decorated. We did not eat here, only had a drink so this review reflects only the bar not the actual restaurant. The bar area is fun with swing chairs at the bar and around other small tables. The view of the surrounding area is beautiful also. The bar swing chairs are situated kinda behind the bar. It is quieter in that area BUT the bartenders do not provide much service there. We bought one drink and then was never attended to for the rest of the time there. I understand that the bartenders were busy but they were not nice nor helpful. It took us so long just to close out our tab. We ended up moving to the register area in hopes that we could grab a bartenders attention. We almost just walked away without paying our tab because we stood there for a very long time trying to get the bartenders attention although we were worried that the final bill once added to our room would be a different amount than what we ordered. I had to yell quite loudly to the bartender that we were leaving and finally the female bartender gave us our bill. A certain amount is already added into the bill for service which I think is unfair because the tip amount did not reflect the service that was provided. The bartenders especially the male ones need to learn how to be gracious even in busy times.

Got a rooftop table on a blisteringly hot and humid day. Classic in Miami. Staff was friendly, nothing outstandingly good or bad per se. The guac was delicious, only gripe is that there wasn't enough of it. This paired well with their frozen palomaritas, though it was so hot that most of it melted pretty quickly. The tuna tartare tostadas were also delicious. Great crunch on the tostadas, fresh fish, and nice flavor from the greens and sauce. I believe this was seasonal, but the mushroom flautas were solid. None of the food really blew me away, but everything was tasty.

They called it a rooftop restaurant, but it's really not. Upstairs from moxie, It's just on the second level open patio style, absolutely amazing location! Food and service here is excellent! Shout out to Maria for your friendly service and great recommendations! The drinks and food were great! My husband loved his margarita. I loved my cucumber spritz. The shrimp ceviche appetizer I have to say was flavorful but very skimpy on the portion, and honestly the corn nuts added were gross. Ruined it! My husband loved his well fish tacos, and I loved my Birria beef tacos. I definitely recommend this place in South Beach.

Wow. Our guy Luca made us a drink that took our night from 1 and done into 4 rounds! Those drinks were so good we are going to stay at the Moxy hotel next year for Art Week!

Quesadillas - Gringa Pollo

Serena was such a great place for a girls dinner! Drinks were different and came in fun glasses. We ordered Pollo Gringa Quesadillas and Baja Fish Tacos. Quesadillas were awesome but both were great! Ordered churros for dessert, MUST HAVE. So good - warm, crispy but gooey center - actually perfection. Our server was extremely friendly and got to know a little bit about us which is always helpful. Very cute rooftop with fun bathrooms and bar area. Would recommend!

We went here for Mother's Day brunch this past May. We waited sort of last minute before we decided to go anywhere, and Serena had advertised their Mother's Day lunch sort of late. I'd had it on my list of places to go anyway, so it worked out! Serena is on the roof of the Moxie hotel. You have to valet park which was fairly simple except that the valet didn't take card... I was able to pay her through the cash app, but only bc I didn't have cash and asked what to do. The girl was nice and directed us into the hotel to go upstairs, but we actually should have used the elevator right there on the outside, as that would have taken us directly to the restaurant rather than the rooftop patio in general. Once we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated around the perimeter of the rooftop on their couches with a coffee table style table in front of us.. maybe a little taller. It was nice but not super conventional seating for eating a meal. I still liked it, though, and thought it was nice. (Just would fit much better with some cocktails/ happy hour in the evening). At one point they brought out a huge fan to aim at the "row" of tables we were on, because it was HOT out and we were essentially sitting in the sun. But then a few minutes later they moved it to one table in the corner... not sure if that family had specifically complained or requested it, but that was annoying. But none of that really mattered in the long run. It was a beautiful brunch, and the servers were all so friendly. And the food was AMAZING. We ordered from their Mother's Day menu, so I don't know if these are normally on there, but my husband had the Guava and Cream Cheese French Toast which was TO-DIE-FOR. Omg this was so so good. And I had the Hash Brown Benedict, which was ALMOST like the savory counterpart to the French toast in terms of flavor. I love hash browns anyway, but whatever they put in their hollondaise sauce was everything! In all, this was a beautiful and unique place with DELICIOUS food. I would love to go back here in the evening for drinks sometime because I can only imagine how great the vibe is then.

Is there bottomless mimosas?

We do not currently offer Bottomless Mimosas but we have several large format options that are sharable for groups and very affordable. Mega Spritz, Rosita Grande Marg and recently we added a Margarita Cart where we make your Margs tableside!

What is dress code?

Casual dress code.

Is there an added 14% or different amount added to the bill for being in the Moxy hotel?

If I’m not mistaken, nearly everywhere in South Beach has the service fee (though at various rates) regardless of whether or not connected to a hotel, so I’d recommend carefully checking each receipt to verify.

Is it possible for to reserve a table for a group of 13 people for a birthday party?

Hello, Yes, it is possible. Please email us all the details to restaurants@moxysouthbeach.com… Read more

Do you guys have brunch drinks specials?

Hello Meylin, we offer the following drink specials: Margarita Pitchers (5 drinks) for $65, Sangria Pitchers (5 drinks) for $50, and the MEGA SPRITZ! (5 servings in one giant glass) for $60.

Hello Scarleth, Our Brunch hours are: Saturday & Sunday from 11am - 4pm. Last seating is at 3:45pm. Hope to see you soon!

Is there a happy hour? Do I need to make a reservation if we're only going for drinks?

Every day from 3pm to 6pm no need reservation

Is there handicap accessibility to the rooftop (i.e. elevator)?

I believe there's an elevator since the pool is nearby. But too many umbrella holders in the area which I believe would be hard to maneuver thru. I'm sure they can accommodate

Are walk ins welcome?

Yes, they sure are!

What is your corkage fee?

Our corkage fee is $60!

Do you have any dishes with lobster..?

We don't have any lobster on the Serena menu, but have scallops, shrimp, cobia, snapper, oysters and clams! If you want lobster please visit our restaurant downstairs, Como Como

Tacos Tuesday specials?

We actually do not serve tacos at Serena Rooftop but downstairs in the lobby at Los Buenos Taqueria.

Is there a daily happy hour and if so what are the hours?

Currently Serena does not have a happy hour however on our 8th floor rooftop, The Upside, we offer our 'Rose, por favor' special, which is 2 hours of unlimited rose from 6p-8p Fridays through Sundays

Can under-21 year olds enter the restaurant/rooftop while accompanied by an over-21 year old? Planing on taking my 18 y/o sister out to Miami soon and checking out restaurants before we get there

All ages are welcome at the restaurant, we look forward to having you soon!

Anyone know the best parking option when coming here? Is it a casual spot?

The hotel valet entrance is actually between Washington and ocean- not on Washington. Serena will validate parking to reduce charge. There is also ample street metered parking- but it fills up. A few public lots too (within one block in each… Read more

Is there a happy hour? If so, when?

They don't have happy hour but you can call or check with Como Como (located downstairs) they do 6-8pm. We went on a Wednesday. I would check what other days!

Is there a dress code or recommended attire?

Casual lounge? You can dress up at night but more like cocktail lounge vibe.

Hi there how can we book a table?

You know how some restaurants blast music so loud you end up yelling at the table? Not here. The music was at the perfect level where we could actually talk and enjoy each other. Any time I needed something, someone was right there to help. No chasing servers down, no attitude, just genuinely great service. Now the food. 20 out of 10. Honestly, everything was delicious. Not a single miss. The drinks though? 100 out of 10. Dangerous in the best way. Our waitress, I wish I remembered her name, was incredible. Every recommendation she made was spot on, and we loved everything she suggested. I would absolutely recommend this place, but part of me wants to keep it a secret because the vibe is just that good. If you're looking for amazing food, great drinks, and an overall great experience, this is it.

When we arrived we were greeted and promptly seated inside at the back wall in a booth. There was another couple to our left and one or two others across the room at other tables. The couple in the corner who was seat next to us proceeded to talk extremely loud and had several FaceTime calls with their children as if they were in a private location and not a restaurant. Our entire meal consisted of listening to them in the phone and talking so loud to each other and their server we could hear every word! This rude and annoying behavior overshadowed the meal and left us very frustrated and annoyed. If you are going to require certain attire (although several guest came in while we were there who had on shorts and flip flops) and charge very high prices, you should have a cell phone policy in place and redirect guest to step outside or leave if they feel the need to FT their family for 20-30 min. We spent well over $200 on a meal for two and it was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. The enjoyed the food we ordered except for the French onion soup which I sent back. The Burrata Caprese was fresh but could have used a few more tomatoes and my husband really enjoyed his steak. I chose not to order anything once my soup was returned because we wanted to leave as soon as possible. Over all the service was good and most of the food was too. Unfortunately, there are those who'd have no regard for their environment and those around them which makes others experience negative! The manager and severs were aware of what they were doing too as they walked by a few times and looked at them. But failed to intervene and for that they get two stars.

We asked to sit downstairs where the DJ starts around 11PM. The energy was great with incredibly comfortable and spacious seating. There was a 2 hour limit at the table, but we moved to the bar after our meal. Loved the caviar potato as an appetizer, and the beef tenderloin literally melted in my mouth. The downstairs scene gets pretty loud just an FYI. Service was top notch. Seems pretty trendy and mainstream, but definitely worth it.

Let's start with the good, because credit where it's due: the food is genuinely excellent, particularly the fish and seafood, which were the clear stars of the spread. And our server, while I'll get to a quibble shortly, was fun, warm, and thoroughly professional. Now the rest. Brunch should feel like a leisurely indulgence, not a contact sport. The meat station had a queue of 20+ people at peak -- I came for great food, not a deli ticket. The space is crowded and genuinely hard to navigate. Champagne required actively hunting down a server, whereas the Setai simply leaves a bottle at your table and lets you breathe. Coffee is $7 a cup -- at a brunch of this price point, charging for coffee feels a little cheeky. Then there was the pacing. Well before our two hours were up, our (otherwise lovely) server began the gentle wrap-up and produced the bill -- which is a curious energy for a "linger and enjoy" brunch. And we were charged an extra 2% as a "large party" of seven... at a buffet. Where we served ourselves. I'm still working out the math on that one. If you want a beautiful setting, live music, better drinks, attentive service, and zero queues, the Setai brunch wins -- every single time. Mila, save it for the nightlife.
