Beware! When I met with the company owner (Jason Kamprowski, JACK Contracting, LLC) to get an…read moreestimate for a new roof he thoroughly impressed me. He was professional, personable, and very knowledgeable about the roofing shingles he installs (Owens Corning) and very detailed on his installation procedures and how he backs his workmanship and his future availability to respond to any questions or problems. Problem is, once he completed our roof installation, he collected his check and despite my numerous attempts to contact him via telephone and email, he has completely ghosted us. The reason I needed to follow up with him is there are three elements of our contract he has yet to complete. My fault, I know better but I paid him before all the work was completed. Part of the contract was his obligation to file our warranty with Owens Corning. I called Owens Corning and they have no record of Jason filing the paperwork. I believe his roofing crew did a good job on my roof installation, but I'm very disappointed that he walked away without completing all elements of our contract and now refuses to return my calls or respond to my emails. I will also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I was in a desperate fix. It would have been easy for any contractor to try to gouge someone in my situation. Elements not only gave us a reasonable price, they did the job very well and finished it with days to spare. They had interest-free financing available for us to bridge the gap while we refinanced our home to pay for the work. They were even willing to talk to my insurance company/State Board of Insurance if it would have helped. In other words, they owned my problem without any obligation to do so. Home Contractors are famous for being flaky and doing crummy work. It's a horrible industry. Elements Home Remodeling seems to have a great business model. "Do good work and be obvious about doing so. The contrast will bring in business". I cannot recommend EHR enough. Really.

After our previous contractor left us without communication and without starting the job, we were referred to Greg, who immediately jumped in to get the job done before our move-in date: from start to finish, they were able to take down the wall, add lighting, and paint the room in one week! They offered super helpful advice and solutions to problems we didn't anticipate, like adding tasteful cedar planks to cover unfinished walls left by the previous owners. Subsequently, we decided to move forward with his recommendation for an engineer to ensure the wall we wanted to open wasn't a load bearing wall. The engineer came and at the end of his assessment told us his visit and write up would be $900. We were a bit caught off guard but was willing to pay because we wanted to move forward with the project. And then, crickets. No word from Greg or the engineer. After a few ignored emails he finally responded to my husband; he thought it was a different client who he had recently met. When my husband reminded Greg that he already knew him and had come to our house, again, nothing. The last attempt to reach out to Greg was very disheartening. We were honest, saying we had reached out to other contractors, but that we like him and wanted a quote. He told us to move forward with them as he is pretty busy. Period. The end. What a waist of time!!! Unless your the more profitable project, move on!
