All the staff at the Valencia Sephora is very friendly and I am always greeted at the door. I always receive great customer service from Brenda. She is always willing to help and takes her time in answering my questions. She is also a great multi tasker. She can answer and help customers quickly even when they interrupt when she is helping me. She always has a smile on her face and i enjoy shopping at this store because of her. I went here this past weekend and it was one of the worst shopping experiences I've had. I asked for help from salespeople just standing around talking and was dismissed because I was looking in the "Sephora" collection and someone else would be able to help me. No one ever did even after asking someone else. My husband and son finally came in and we're more of help to me than anyone in the store. The lady checking out was completely dismissive as well. Love this place I wish I can just have everything. I want it alllllllll :) Been to this location Sephora Valencia a few times the girls are really nice they always have a good attitude. And there are quick came in today to get the Tom Ford perfume I knew what I wanted they had the perfume in stock, I paid and left quick and easy. $$$ I even used my points today FINALLY and got a gift set of sample cleaners that are great for sensitive skin. Went here yesterday with a friend to get a makeup session being that my friend is new to makeup and needs to see what product would be best for her and how to use them. Now, we were prepared to purchase anything we liked. We asked for some help, being that we werent offered any, and were told to make an appointment at least 2weeks in advanced! So none of the 5 girls standing arounding chatting would be able to help us. We were there around 445 5pm, not near the closing hours. Are you kidding me? We were probably going to be the easiest customers being that we were open to any products suggested. Bought 1 product and tried to purchase another from the Jcpenny. One girl said we could no problem, and another made a face and said no. The one who said no ended up scanning anyway. So, we went to Urban Decay in Macys, that had ONE girl working and took us immediately. We dropped $200 on products from someone who was willing to help and give us true customer service. She also did an amazing job. Shame on Sephora for poor customer service and poor attitude Not ever coming back. read more

My first experience with this store was disappointing, i walked in looking for a particular lipstick and couldn't find anyone to help me locate it and when i did finally find someone i was rudely interrupted by 2 pre-teen girls who got more attention from the clerk than i did and left to go assit them...i was eventually left on my own to search for the lipstick myself. My second experience was no better than the first, i went in with high hopes of finding a leave in conditioner that was recommended by another store that sephora did sell the product. I walked in and saw 4 employees standing near the door and was not greeted, i had to interrupt their gossiping to ask for assistance and when i finally got one of their attention i kindly asked: me: "would you happen to know where i could find this specific leave in conditioner?" clerk: "we don't carry that brand here and never did" me: "oh, i was told by this other store that you did..." clerk: "well they lied. sorry" and walked away as i was standing there in shock i found someone else to help me locate a back up conditioner that i remembered i used to use and she also seemed irritated to help me as well. Once i got the product i went to check out and the cashier asked if i found everything ok and i mentioned that i did but the other employees were a little rude to me she ignored what i had said and just gave me the total.....really? no im sorry? no let me get the manager for you? no anything? i spent a good amount of money that day just to get treated like i had a contagious rash on my face or something.... i will definitely not go back a third time no matter how convenient the location is or how they are the only store that sell a certain product. -__- read more

Sephora is by far the best makeup store around. I buy 100% of my makeup at sephora because they have the widest selection of wonderful makeup products. Unfortunately the products are not cheap, but they are quality. Here's what I love about this store: very friendly staff who are always available to help and are knowledgeable (love the Woodland Hills store, but they're a little clueless) and they are great with returns. Here's my critique about the store: sometimes I find items cheaper on sephora.com and sometimes the store is out of stock on items I want. Suggestion: Shop at sephora.com. First off, you don't have to deal with the crazy mall parking. You get free shipping if you spend $50, which is way too easy to do. I've never found an item at a store that wasn't online. You can return anything at the store, so you don't have to worry about paying to ship it back. You get free samples with every order and they always have special coupon codes to get free goodies (the coupon codes are on the site under "beauty deals"). They also have weekly deals to get discounted or free with purchase items. Make sure you are signed up to be a beauty insider (can do it online or in store) because they have amazing VIB gifts that you get for free, over time, just for spending money at the store. Also, I love their hair products, but usually can find similar products for considerable cheaper on amazon.com or beauty-mart.com. There is also this great little beauty supply store in Canyon Country next to Albertsons that has great deals on high end hair products. read more

I love sephora. I really do. But I HATE some of the staff here. I understand it gets busy but they rarely greet customers. I've stepped in so many times and have only been asked if things were going well once. I've had one good experience where I approached a sales rep (as I always have to do here)... And she gladly helped me out. But today's service takes the cake. The filipino-asian(?) Is that what she is? I don't know. She was wearing dark lipstick. She's only like 5'3". Holy shit she was just standing around. I approached her and woooooooow, attitude problem. She helped me find what I was looking for, but didn't offer any other options or recommendations like the people (or even some of her coworkers-wish I knew their names) at other locations do. And to top it all off, she just stood there two feet away from me and didn't even bother saying anything else. There were plenty of customers and she preferred to just stand there rather helping out. Honestly, it's hard to get help here sometimes which is disappointing esp. when I've got super sensitive skin so I have to be careful with what I put on my face cause I'll end up breaking out. read more

I LOVE Sephora but this particular store is DIRTY. Makeup was smeared on the display cases, trash cans were overflowing, and the testers were grubby and looked completely unsanitary. Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but this Sephora was fine. It was a little bit on the messier end, but nonetheless, always have what is needed. I went in for foundation matching and Ashley was terrific! She really spent time with me making sure that we found the right shade. We even tried several foundation options since the one I originally went in to the store wanting wasn't working for my skin tone. I have had terrible experiences in the past at other locations getting matching to colors that were way to dark for my light skin or made me look orange, but was super happy with this experience. The customer service was rude and unhelpful. Two of the girls who work their say they don't have a certain product in a certain size and were rude snobby and unhelpful. Next time I'll go to Santa Monica store. The funny part was it took the front desk clerk 30 seconds to find what the first two clerks said that don't have and she was so nice and helpful and obviously wanted to help. I'm shockingly disappointed. I was in here with my daughter and I was looking for a good complexion kit, just something that was easy to travel with on vacations and could fit in my purse for quick touch ups. While looking around the store a sales women approached me (I'm not calling her a rep because I'm sure Sephora would disapprove) and asked if I needed help. I told her what I was looking for and she seemed pleasant, not necessarily eager to help. While trying on make up (on herself - not sure why) I told her that the color she was using was too dark. I got a smart ass remark from her telling me that she was, too light. Her comment rubbed me the wrong way. I'd rather spend a little more $$$ at Macy's for better treatment. I also thought that it was rude to speak like that to me in front of my daughter. I left and I won't be returning anytime soon. I didn't catch her name but she looked like a sad 50's pin up knockoff. How can you love shopping for makeup when the employees make it a bad experience every time you go? I don't know if it's ok for the employees to be doing their own makeup instead of helping out the customers. I needed help choosing a product and I was right next to an employee and she was to busy doing her makeup while she noticed I was looking at her and she continued to act as she didn't see me. I went in yesterday and was acknowledged right off the bat! I need a foundation that was long lasting and matched my skin and the lady gave me samples and demonstrated! She also assessed my skin care routine and overall makeup routine!!! I was really impressed with how personalized the attention I received was and how she found the best product for me not just the up sale and most expensive. i got all the products she recommended and more! One of the best Sephoras around. The customer service here is above and beyond. The staff was so helpful in explaining the difference between a few products I had been considering and demonstrating the two. I also received some great recommendations on products I didn't even come in to look at. Personality and helpfulness abound. The selection here was fantastic and the the product samples/demos were much cleaner than many of the other Sephoras I have been in. I had an amazing experience at this store. Shamika one of the make up specialist was a great help when I was trying to find the perfect red lipstick. She was very attentive to what I was looking for and was very patient with me, not rushing me or pushing me to buy something I didn't want.
