I make it a point to link my purchases to my account since I'm terrible at keeping paper receipts. I felt bad since I held the line up a bit so I apologized, but not once did I feel like an issue or burden which I value very much. I drove from Lancaster to go to this Sephora, since the one in Palmdale is a lot smaller. I came with the intention of getting multiple items in skincare, since the weather has really fudged me up lately. I wasn't greeted, or actually even acknowledged at all. I walked through every aisle, looking for a few specific items, in the very back of the store when I tried to approach someone for help, she instead told me to have a nice day. As if I were leaving?? Well standing in the back of the store?? On top of being ignored by 10+ employees who are all seemingly just standing around, literally every single display and sample was disgusting, y'all have seen products after usage, but at this point, certain items just need to be thrown away. These bunk ass workers really think I'm not paying for my shit. I should've just ordered online. I get your doing your job. But your eyes are on the wrong peeps. This is my favorite Sephora!! Not once have I had a bad experience at this location and I've probably been here over 25 times. Everyone is always super sweet and helpful. Not once has someone color matched me to a foundation that didn't match!! I've returned items and they're always super sweet as they're doing it. Never have they been rude here. They always have the best advice and every product that has been recommended to me I've been happy with. They never push me to buy items I don't want. If I ask them about a certain product they are always 100% honest. I've shopped at other Sephora's and they'll tell me I should get another product when I'm specially looking for a certain one. Not only were the sampling products dirty with the previous people's makeup on it, I was being profiled by the manager who was questioning why I was there, random questions about makeup, and then watching me from corners. It's much easier to just get your makeup directly from the brand website and you'll save yourself the annoyance of rude staff. read more

This Sephora is nice, big, and clean. It offers a lot of the products that I am looking for. The only concern I have is with the people who assist you. One time I walked in and I saw three employees huddled up talking to each other and all they did was give me a disgusted glance and turn away and continue talking. I wasn't looking for help, but a smile or simple 'welcome' would've done. Another time I asked for a sample of a liquid highlight and the woman assisting me was like "You haven't tried this product, right?? I've come here several times and am sad to say each experience has been about the same. Today however, was the worse. I walked in early morning not quite full yet and was not greeted. Instead I said hello and with no response by the greeter. She was not busy so I don't understand but i continued on throughout the store. Not once was I asked I needed help by a single staff member, nor was even given a simple smile or even a hello. I was searching for a foundation and did need help so I kept trying to find a staff member to help me. They were all either with another customer or would ignore me when I would say hello to get their attention. I'm not sure what happened but this place used to be my absolute favorite place to shop because the staff was helpful and they had a way of upsetting other products that you'd LOVE. My last few visits have been disappointing. The staff acts appalled if you ask for help and they simply point you in the direction of the aisle you need and then catwalk away to finish chatting with other staff members. I love this store!! I can find so many beauty products in one store. It's a dream come true! Plus they give you birthday gifts and you can try on make up and other products. The only thing I don't really like it's the lighting, and they need more diverse when it comes to staff. Where do I start?! People please pay close attention and you will see how dirty some of the displays are! I know this could be a very busy store but in the other hand they do have a lot of employees! The problem is that most of them just walk around socializing with each other instead of helping customers or trying to keep the place clean! The only bad experience I've ever had here was years ago, and the employee who caused it is no longer there. I read these other reviews and can't help but wonder if maybe the reviewers have never worked in a retail environment. I guarantee if you walked in with a good attitude you'd receive the customer service you so desperately crave. Don't expect someone to know what you want if you don't make it obvious. Don't walk around with a nasty resting face thinking you look approachable. The employees here are highly trained, and if they don't know an answer to your question I guarantee another employee does. I'm giving 5 stars to Natalie. Store would get about 3... Managers there is not that knowledgeable, so don't bother asking for advice. They kind of treat you like "whatever". I've asked for product recommendation for blush that had shimmer, and this one manager I encountered pointed me to two brands, as she struggled to pin point which of the 10 shades was the one I was asking about. Enough about that..... Natalie is the person I found MOST HELPFUL. I don't request her or anything, but I keep running into her. Anyway, she helped me with foundation selection when the skin ID thing came out. She went above and beyond to find ones that would work with my skin and my likes. She sent me home with samples to try instead of making me buy things I wasn't 100% about. On a separate occasion, I was looking for certain type of foundation primer, and she again went above and beyond to find the ones I was looking for. I typically know what I want, but she was very helpful when I was wanting to venture out to other brands that my normal selections. Natalie is very upbeat and nice, if you need an honest opinion about things, she's it. I've been to this particular Sephora several times, but haven't found anybody better than her. Everybody else tend to talk to each other and treat you like you're in their way, and look at you with that very fake interest look.... but keep in mind, not everybody is like that. read more

One word. KELLY. I must admit I'm a makeup junkie and I love all things beauty and fashion. I came into Sephora with a game plan and a list of products. Introduce Kelly. Girl knows what she is doing. I told her what I was looking at and she pulled dozens of different products, encouraged me to take off my makeup so she could demo some products. She was so kind and BEAUTIFUL (she actually has flawless skin). We chatted and she chose the perfect products. She didn't pressure me to buy any of them, but I walked out with a whole new makeup routine and a huge smile on my face. Other customers were asking for her advice and she had everyone's colors memorized and made awesome suggestions. She even took me to the mirror to show me how to properly contour and highlight. If you ever find yourself in Santa Clarita, go to this Sephora and ask for Kelly. I'm actually gonna make the drive more often from West Hollywood to update my look. read more

I came here twice because Sephora.com said they had a Kat Von D everlasting liquid lip color that I wanted in stock. Well, twice, they didn't have the color I was looking for. Nor did they have other KVD everlasting lip colors either except L.U.V, Susperia, and Melancholia. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the lack of product that I was hoping to buy. I'm pretty sure KVD liquid lip stick is very popular and it would be nice if they had it in stock. I ended up getting a perfume. Also, the ladies who work here are nice. This is a GREAT Sephora. What makes this Sephora great is not only their wide selection of productions, but their staff. You can ask any of the makeup girls (or boys!) a question and they are happy to assist you. In my last visit, I had a great girl help me with color matching and she gave me some great ideas. Even better, she showed me a gift set which gave me a better value! Sweet! This Sephora positions itself not only as a one-stop beauty shop, but also as a place to get your fix of upper-end beauty products. They carry my makeup go to's like Too Faced and Makeup Forever, as well as my skin care favs like Philosophy and Clinique. They recently started to carry Bumble and Bumble products, which is great too. Though the selection here is awesome, it's the helpful makeup artists that keeps me coming back to shop. Oh, and the product points and samples. They are pretty sweet too! read more

I spent over $200 on new makeup 2 days ago from Sephora - including the purchase of their branded Sephora eyelashes. The sales associate said I'd get at least 20 uses out of these lashes. Ha- I only used them once & within 1 day, the lashes ripped. I thought surely Sephora would stand by their brand since I had just bought them. I had the receipt, original bag, box- everything (2 days ago!!) But I thought wrong. The sales associate just kept telling me they can't return eyelashes that have been worn. I wasn't asking you to return them. I just wanted an exchange - a product that worked! I'm a 55 year old mom- not some kid that wore them 13 times and decided I needed a new pair. I asked to speak to the manager- and to my surprise-she was the manager. ACK!! Scary to have someone this young and inexperienced handling customers let alone a store. iF she were a smart & an experienced manager- she would have damaged the eyelashes out and then exchanged them for working ones. But she was very intent on "their policy". So guess what- you just lost a customer to your competitor! Do owners of these corporations know what these frontline employee kids are doing to their business??? read more

I went into this sephora for brow pencil, I was greeted ( by one lady in the entrance) the brow pencil I was specifically looking for they had ran out of samples in different colors for try on. When I asked one lady for help she said she was busy looking up another product (rolls eye) another associate came to assist and I asked her what color did she recommend she did assist as that part, the ladies that were here on today were not very friendly there was not a lot of customers in the store. The only person who was friendly was the young lady at the register , customer service is not a priority obviously at this location. read more

My girlfriend and I went in this store today to look at a couple things I was asking for for Christmas. As soon as we walked in, an older woman with dark hair spoke into her speaker and said something a long the lines of "keep an eye on them". Um ok... we proceeded to look for the item I wanted and within 2 MINUTES 4 different employees came up to us to ask if we were "finding everything okay". Instead of being rude, we smiled and nodded. But the entire time I could feel all these eyes on us as if they were waiting for us to run out with all the items we were looking at... what in the actual hell. I've worked in retail before, so I understand being cautious, proactive, and wanting to stop theft but sh*t.. could we not enjoy our shopping in peace? I found it so rude and unacceptable. I try to not to shop in stores when it comes to Sephora and this experience gave me another reason why I should continue to just shop online. No judgement from racist rude homophobic seeming ladies. This review is specifically for their makeup services. I scheduled an appointment to have my makeup done at Sephora for my senior prom. I was kind of nervous because I usually get my makeup done at Mac and they do a fantastic job. When I arrived, I got set up with Marie to do my makeup. When I sat down a couple people around me were also getting their prom makeup done and it looked great so I wasn't nervous anymore. I then began to tell her what look I was going for and showed her pictures. I asked for a dewy, highlighted face and a silver smoky eye with some false lashes and winged eyeliner. She got to work and I wasn't positioned by a mirror so I couldn't see what she was doing. I watched as employees went around complimenting all the other makeup artist's work, but not mine. Finally, I caught the faces some of them were making as the walked by me. I was nervous again. Finally she said "before I make the final touches go outside with a mirror to see how you like it in natural light." When I got outside and saw my face I almost burst into tears. I don't know where to begin with how absolutely awful the makeup looked. It appalled me that she actually thought that looked good. First, the foundation she used was way too dark for me and it was matte when I asked for dewy. She did no highlighting, too much blush, and put bronzer in the most random places. Then there's my eyes... She took black eye shadow and put it all over my lids and then all the way up to my eyebrows. Then she had tried to put hot pink on top of it. The "winged" eyeliner was sloppy and hardly a wing. She just drew a straight line out from my eye. When she asked me what I thought I told her some things that could easily be done to tweak it and fix all her mistakes. We went back in and she first decided to put the false lashes on me. She never measured them to my eye or let the glue get tacky, so when she put it on glue went straight into my eye. She then positioned the lashes to go across the MIDDLE OF MY EYELID. Who in their right mind does that? When she went to go over the lashes with eyeliner she stabbed me in the eye multiple times. She asked me to look at it again and she hadn't fixed a single thing. At that point I wasn't going to let her touch my face and I had to take my prom pictures in 10 minutes because she spent so much time trying to fix her mistakes which she didn't fix. There was no way I was going to pay to look like I did, so I found the manager who was really sweet and accommodating. Although she was confused because apparently Marie was their MOST REQUESTED MAKEUP ARTIST. Is she kidding? She waved the fees and offered a complimentary makeup service with a different artist. They were going to set me up with a different artist but I had absolutely no time. I took it all off at home, had my friend do something simple for my eyes and just went with it. Needless to say, I don't think that I will ever return to have my makeup don't there. I'm just going to stick to Mac. read more

They were able to answer all my questions, make suggestions as to what my morning and nightly face care routine, and on top of all this great service they gave me a generous sized sample of conditioner (my hair is way below my waistline) to try. I like this Sephora because it doesn't have that maze-ish layout some other stores have and it's hardly ever crowded (depending on which day you go). I like that once you go in, the makeup is right there. I've been to other ones where the perfume is near the front but it being "Awesometown", there are always kids; it was a smart idea to put the fragile and expensive perfumes in the back. Anyway, just like any other Sephora, I like that they have their own Sephora brand of makeup and tools that are a little less pricey than the "name brands" (MUFE, Urban Decay, NARS, etc). I love their Sephora by OPI collections; so many colors and the color payoff is awesome. Tip: Every time you make a purchase, you get Beauty Insider points. I usually just save mine until theres a really good reward or at least till I hit the 500 point perk. Last time I got the Benefit "Little Look Goods" which included a full size Dandelion Brightening Face Powder, trial Bad Gal Lash and trial That Gal Brightening Face Primer ($44 value). All the staff at the Valencia Sephora is very friendly and I am always greeted at the door. I always receive great customer service from Brenda. She is always willing to help and takes her time in answering my questions. She is also a great multi tasker. She can answer and help customers quickly even when they interrupt when she is helping me. She always has a smile on her face and i enjoy shopping at this store because of her. I went here this past weekend and it was one of the worst shopping experiences I've had. I asked for help from salespeople just standing around talking and was dismissed because I was looking in the "Sephora" collection and someone else would be able to help me. No one ever did even after asking someone else. My husband and son finally came in and we're more of help to me than anyone in the store. The lady checking out was completely dismissive as well.
