Sephora is probably my favorite store, ever. I love beauty products and love to try new ones, which Sephora has plenty of. I have had bad experiences with customer service at this location at times. There have been times I've needed help, and there is nobody in sight, or they seem to actively be avoiding the customers (strange.) Other times, I'm asked 15 times if I need help when I'm just browsing. That being said, I have had many a knowledgeable, friendly and helpful sales associate approach me and help me with my purchases over the course of my shopping experience at this location. Do beware, however, of the most eager sales people of all, the reps for the individual companies. While it is nice to learn about a company's products in detail, if you want an unbiased opinion, this is not the person to get it from. read more

Everyone is always so nice here and patient! Store is always clean. I recently went in there in a panic for supplies for 3 very large productions because I couldn't get product expedited here in time and no where else had what I needed.... Sephora also did not have what I needed (at no fault of Sephora- due to pandemic) but the employees (I think Brittany and crissy?) were soooooooooo helpful! I was stressed and it was my last option; They helped me brainstorm ideas and come up with solutions and replacements, and since they can't have tester items out- they also generously gave me some (lip applicators and mascara spoolies and mini tester containers) to get me by for the week. read more

Let's talk about an unfriendly staff, lack of basic business knowledge and bottom line, along with a condescending manager who all but told us to never come back after a $100 purchase (at least, this is how we all felt). Now, you must be thinking, "Ok, I wonder what THIS person did?" I am a Image Consultant for anyone from Pageant contestants to business men. One high-heeled day, along with a very accomplished makeup artist, I entertained a young woman who was eager to join the pageant world. Mother, Daughter, makeup artist and myself excitedly walked into Sephora to learn about makeup, application and a good overall professional daytime look. As stated in a review prior, the associates who work there are less than knowledgeable, nor care much about the individuals actual needs. So... this is why I brought along my 19 year veteran Makeup Artist, to also work with different lines of products in one fail swoop. Put aside the sales associates scowls, we had a great hour lesson, and a face to die for when completed! The stage mom purchased $100 in Stila Foundation, and a list of NARS colors to purchase for the next week. Sounds like a great day for Sephora, right? As we were leaving, we were approached by the manager who, with a backhanded compliment of how much fun it looked like we were having, also informed us that in the future we were going to need to make an appointment to "book a chair" and the booking fee is $50 an hour. We apologized for our unawareness of this company rule and then for the next 10 minutes (and I'll paraphrase) she let us know that it was inappropriate to have a makeup artist come in and take up a chair that is there for the employees, that it was a bad time to do something of this nature, but she supports the community and wanted to assist us in whatever we were doing in the future (??) and, once again noted that in the future the chair booking fee is $50. If there is something simple we wanted information or instruction on, the associates were there to complimentary assist and the makeup chairs are for them. Now, I totally understand this as business if we hadn't purchased anything, if there were loads of people in the store, and the chairs were all being used. However, none of this was the case. On a lazy March day at 1pm, we sat in one of the chairs that we were invited into by a sales associate and spent $100. My makeup artist was paid by myself, not Sephora, so technically Sephora got out of paying an employee for an hour (along with insurance, taxes, etc that an employee costs to maintain) AND my makeup artist sold THEIR product. What's very unfortunate about this entire episode, is that after 12 years of purchasing at Sephora's across America and online, this incident makes me want to go elsewhere. I'd like to think that "it's just Reno", but I have to wonder if it's from the top down? As a multiple business owner, I understand how the pyramid works. I would have happily made compensation if my client hadn't purchased, and/or the circumstances of the conversation were different. In an ending comment, I'd just like to point out, We have a choice to where we spend our dollar, and with as many options we have in the world of cosmetics, this incident has made my choice. I usually shop www.sephora.com (reviews galore from real customers) for skincare and occasionally makeup. There was a product I needed NOW and decided to pop in. It is makeup heaven. You could spend an afternoon trying all the products and stinkin' the place up with the perfume! It is well organized and easy to find things if that's what you need too. I found exactly what I needed and then some! Staff is very helpful and it's nice to leave with your three free samples of other fun makeup/skincare stuff! read more

I have never been big on buying makeup and when I got a permotion at work I went down to Sephora to get good makeup that wouldnt make me oily and stay matte all day I was helped by Veronica and she was AMAZING she was the nicest person I have met in a makeup store! She helped me match my skin with the right foundation and concealer found me the perfect primer that will help keep my makeup on my face ended up spending 250 dollars there cause of the service and how incredible she was! read more

I love the store itself but the staff could use some improvement. I wasn't even acknowledged when I walked through the door. I slowly paced around looking for someone who could help me out with a couple questions I had. After about 10 minutes I went to the cashier and asked if she could grab someone to assist me. The only reason why I'm giving this place three stars and not two is because of the friendly cashier that walked me through store pointing out some products and helpful tips. Frankie matched me for foundation and gave me a mini makeover! Such an awesome guy who did an awesome job

They are always run out of the items I wanted to buy or try out. Be careful for what you are going to buy. I had gotten DRIED UP cream shadows and needed to return and exchange more than once. I would rather buy online or go somewhere else than in this store. read more

I took my friend to get color matched for a foundation, and the Asian lady doing the color match didn't seem to know what "light and sheer coverage" means. I stand there to observe my friend get color matched because she was new to make up and is still building her kit. So she told the employee that she was looking for a "light sheer, NOT full coverage foundation for combination skin." After saying that, the employee comes back with the Tarte Amazonian clay foundation the same foundation that was recommended to me when I was getting color matched for something full coverage. After the employee applied it on my friend's face, my friend said she wanted something "more sheer", obviously , because if any of you have ever tried the Amazonian clay foundation, you know it's thick AF . I mean face. So the girl comes back with a tinted moisturizer from Tarte again, and some setting powder which, okay, I guess is a little better option. But really ? Again with Tarte ? What's up with pushing the same brand? There are a lot of sheer coverage foundation from other brands, not Tarte. Too faced has the born this way foundation that's a natural finish, urban decay BB cream, and so does Becca with their aqua luminous foundation. I don't know if employees win gratis, or get $$ for pushing one brand, but it didn't seem like they were doing their job to satisfy what could've been a new loyal customer. - I still love this Sephora, it's beautiful. Aside from the person doing the color match, they still have some employees! - Still irked. read more

What is there to say about Sephora? The makeup artists are friendly and knowledgeable. They are attentive and there is always one around to make sure you have your questions answered. The store speaks for itself. Always clinically clean and bright. Products are great and I love that I can get high end product here. The only thing that would make Sephora perfect is if they had another location closer to Sparks. I know there is one in JC Penney but it does not sell hair product. I love their X factor brand of gel-like nail polish. It is by fat the best "gel" product that I have tried without having to use a UV lamp. If you haven't tried it and you want to do your own nails I suggest you do so. read more

This is the only place I go for my make-up and skincare needs! Huge variety of different brands and products for you to choose from and the ladies there are extremely nice and helpful. They go above and beyond to help you find the best make-up for your skin, so you don't have to worry about looking like a circus clown! Their prices are average on what you would expect for quality make-up and if you buy a product and decide later it isn't suitable for you, you can return it with no questions asked! If you are hesitant to pay full price for a product, ask for a sample whether it be foundation, lotion, or face wash, they give you enough to try several times to make sure it is something you love before you shell out your hard, earned money! Convenient location and parking, and flexible hours making it accessible no matter what your schedule may be. read more

I am a rouge member and have had multiple beautiful happy experiences shopping here! All the old timers who work there are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable! Stinking attitude from an employee named Alissa today, unfortunately. I went in to return a bottle of tatcha deep polished powder, hoping to get a recommendation from her, for something that wouldn't dry out my skin so much. I had gotten the deep polished version based on their staff's recommendation when they ran out of the classic. Now, I'm a very friendly customer, Always. I always have a good attitude and say thank you and smile and all that. Unfortunately this afternoon someone took all that friendliness; ignored it, and instead responded with a better attitude to sternness. ( forced out of me) So I walked to the cashier and asked " hello! Do you have something to recommend because this powder is too drying for my skin...." Then I felt it already. There was just no friendly hello, just a very cold attitude, stand offish. She started with opening the bottle and with a stinking attitude" do you put this in the shower?" I said no. And then she poured out some powder, examining. She walks off, again, with that stinking attitude, and comes back with their own bottle of tatcha deep polished enzyme, pours out the powder again, and says " well it's the same, I don't know what you mean. It's the same formula." Hello lady, I'm saying it's too dry for my skin. She behaves like I'm doing something wrong and she's investigating a criminal. She never smiled once, acted as if I was trouble. I said " I don't think you know what I'm saying" she pretends not to hear me again. By then; my husband had found a bottle of classic enzyme powder and brought it to the counter. I had wasted enough of my positive vibes and energy with this " Alissa", I stopped smiling and threw my credit card on the counter, just let me exchange that with this one. I gave up wanting to get a recommendation from her. ( I got the deep polished one during their annual sale, so I have to top up for the classic one if I exchanged today) when she saw my rouge card and my ceased friendliness, she became " nicer", ironically. Wow. People, can't you just be nice to nice people? Why do you need people to be stern and scary before you start being nice? That just doesn't make sense to me. The cashier I saw the last time was a beautiful lady, I think she looks Indian but I'm not sure! She was always so nice and positive! I also noticed this Alissa was all alone at the cashier, with a stinking face. I think none of her colleagues wanted to be near her. Her colleagues were in front at the makeover counters, smiling and happy. I waved goodbye to her super nice colleagues when I left. And they were really friendly and positive as usual! Wow! I will never step foot in another Sephora again. This was by far the best experience I've ever had walking into a retail store. The friendliest staff with their smiling faces. Everyone was so kind and stopped by to say hello to introduce themselves including the Sephora manager Alyssa. She was so welcoming. Frankie was my makeup artist and made me feel absolutely stunning. We were able to keep up a good conversation and he let me know everything he was doing and always asked if I had any questions. I go to this Sephora about once a month for my makeup needs. I am surprised to see the bad reviews on customer service because EVERY time I go in there I have an awesome experience. The staff always asks if I need help, they are very generous with samples, and seem to be fairly knowledgeable about the products. Plus, there return policy is awesome! I love going there for the makeup but I continue to go specifically to Sephora (vs Ulta) because of the great customer service. Maybe it's because I go during the evenings when they are less busy? read more

I've been a longtime Sephora customer and have always made it a point to visit the store on trips to Reno (first at the Meadowood Mall location and now at the Summit) but the last couple of visits have put me off for good. The staff have become experts at ignoring customers while standing around gossiping amongst themselves. I tried to access the Two Faced display last Saturday that was, for all intents and purposes, blocked by a TF Rep in blue lipstick, a Sephora Employee leaning with her elbow on the end of the display (seriously??) and a couple of male customers. Go if you must, just expect to be underwhelmed. This is one VIB who won't waste her time at this store again. Ever. read more

Coming from a professional makeup artist, and retailed experienced person, this sephora has to be the worst one I've ever been to. Not one person asked if I needed help, neither were any of the other costumers in the store being helped. All the employees who were older women and you would think would know how to serve great costumer service, were just standing around talking to each other. I have seen this type of service the two times I've walked in there when visiting Reno. I will never again waste my time stepping foot in there whenever I'm in town. Plus they really didn't have a great selection in product nor was any of the stuff stocked, clean or organized. read more

six chicks working, im one of two people i the store and not a single associate acknowledged i was even in the store. after slowly circling the store twice looking for what i came to buy and bot finding it my two year olds patience ran out and we had to leave. i had money to spend today. had one person stopped chatting with other employees i would have probably found and bought what i was looking for. read more

I'm giving this review 5 stars because of the EXCEPTIONAL service I got at sephora. I had the pleasure of meeting a young Lady by the name of Nancy last Saturday. She walked up to my friend and I asking if we needed help with anything, showing us all these new and great products and then tried new products on us. Words can't describe the customer service experience we had from Nancy. I had to make a review because honestly, we don't see or experience great service like Nancy's anymore. The staff at the way-south Reno store are friendly and helpful. My feedback is more about Sephora (not about one store): I only go to Sephora because they are only store in Reno that carries NV Perricone skin care (best stuff). So now I have about 3000 points from buying stuff good for free gifts at the counter. Only problem is they never have any stuff for men that they haven't already given me, like Jack Black Beard Lube. Love this store, staff is always welcoming and very skillful in the products they are selling. The store itself is huge, making it hard not to find what you need since they probably have it. Plus they have samples, just ask and you can have as much as you'd like. Amazing place for advice as well, they are truthful and helpful in what you want and for what you're not so sure about. Honestly, the two stars that i did give go to Faith, the ONLY person in the store (i spoke with 2 other sales people) who seemed to care if i bought anything or not. Faith gave me her brush recommendations, showed me which primer she thought was best, and showed me to the best mascara. After she left, I wasn't sure there was anyone working in the store. The girls I did find working seemed very unenthused when i encountered them. My purchase was very expensive, (a little over 900$) and I paid all in 20s. In front of me, one of the cashiers made a call (she made sure i could hear) in a very rude voice complaining about a customer who "seriously paid for a purchase over 900$ with all 20s. I Need you to come immediately and cashier a 900$ payment." They made me feel very guilty for paying with all 20s... Never using them again. The Rest of the staff besides Faith gets a 0% since i'm not really sure what else they did anyway. EXTREMELY rude and made me feel very uncomfrortable...Not to mention they don't carry all of the lines Sephora is supposed to carry.... read more
