Excellent variety of makeup and other self-care products as well as very attentive customer service

The only time I go to Sephora is when I have to buy a gift for someone and I usually feel lost when I'm looking for a particular product. That was not the case with this particular Sephora store. Everything was clearly laid out by brand and easy to find. I was able to get in and out without wandering around trying to find the exact product that I was looking for. The staff here was also really nice and helpful. From the moment I walked in I was greeted. I know that if I needed help in finding what I was looking for, I would have received the help that I needed. read more

I scheduled makeup for a wedding and they called 2 hours before and canceled saying they were closing the store early. Asked if I wanted to re schedule. the wedding was that night so re scheduling wasn't an option. It was barely raining outside and they decided to close early. read more

I'm actually shocked that I have not written a review for any Sephora, let alone this location. Note, I am a makeup collector. Drug store or not, I love it all. But what motivated me today was my visit today, February 27, at about 10:45 am, to this location and Paramus, NJ a short while ago. They could not be more polar opposite. The NANUET NY location should be the bar set for Sephora. Not only are they more than helpful, their style of making you aware of Covid policy is gracious. Awareness is important as a standard, being kind with your messaging is key. I cannot say more about these associates other than to add they are consummate professionals. The PARAMUS location on the other hand. Sorry not so much. The greeter at the door in Paramus has zero tact. So bad that I would not even walk on their store. If there were 10 stars NANUET would get mine; Whomever hired for this location give them a raise! read more

The only reason I'm giving this Sephora two stars is for the fabulous man who helped me at the register. Aside from him (he's clearly a makeup artist) the customer service is abysmal. I went to this location specifically for Fenty foundation color matching, which took me asking one of the many associates on the floor too busy testing make up on themselves to ask me if I needed help. Finally someone asked if I needed assistants after 30 minutes of testing foundation in the central makeup station. The man at the register told me about an online deal on Fenty that saved me $35 and he gave me great recommendations for future purchases. Perhaps he should run that store. Clearly, none of the other associates care about customer service. Let him contour that place into shape! read more

I was in dire need of setting powder so I asked one of the employees for help. I wanted to purchase one from Fenty Beauty, but she recommend me to another company. The one she gave me was very light, and my complexion is almond. When she placed the powder on my arm, it made my arm look ashy. After she helped me I asked another employee for help with the same issue. She was helpful, and sure what she was doing. She said the powder that the other employee recommend me was very light and even for her skin-tone ( she is a lighter skin tone ) so for her to tell me the setting powder I gotten was to light is an issue. She found a setting powder from Fenty beauty which I couldn't wait to try. The next day I was getting ready for work and couldn't wait to try out the setting powder. When I placed it on my face the setting powder was way to dark. I still highly annoyed the fact both seem to be so sure what they were doing. read more

I like this store a lot more compared to the location in the mall, it isn't nearly as packed. Though it does get busy and you have to wait, which is normal. Their staff is very attentive and kind, they have excellent recommendations. It's really my new addiction. Daphne gave me an excellent experience, very patient, took her time, and her recommendations led me to buying some really great products. read more

Holy cow. This is the best Sephora in the area! Not only was it not a cluster F (perhaps Sunday morning isn't a busy time for Sephora in general, but still) but I was greeted by two separate people asking if I needed help with anything. Cut to my previous experiences at the Pallisades and Paramus where I've had to STALK people just to ask the simplest of questions. The store is HUGE. I had no problem navigating my huge stroller around the various makeup aisles. I didn't have much time to dily dally, but from what I saw, it appears that they carry a lot more makeup brands than other area Sephoras. Can't wait to come back and stroll through and do some sampling! read more

I usually love Sephora but I will NEVER shop here again!!! I went in to purchase a bottle of Chanel Chance perfume. The bottle I was holding was priced at $102, so it wasn't really cheap but it wasn't the most expensive product either. After I grabbed the bottle, I browsed around, because, as I stated, I love that store. These three women followed me around as if I was going to steal their precious perfume. I felt so violated and so disgusted. I did nothing to warrant that type of behavior from any of them. When I asked the cashier, the nicest lady ever, who the manager was, she pointed to one of the ladies that followed me. No wonder her employees act the same what she does. Whenever I go to this Sephora, they are *always* out of what I need. The employees are very helpful, though. They always check to see if my item is available in West Nyack. Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not. They also offer to order it for me online, but sometimes I need it right away. So employees rock, but stock not so much. read more

This Sephora is poorly poorly maintained, and the employees are inexperienced and not properly trained. It's a shame. Last night I was getting a Becca concealer and thought to myself, maybe I should have one of them put some on me to get the right shade.... Lol yeah right. Not only are they too busy chatting by the register, that I stood by waiting for one to say "oh can I help you??", but one chick was on her phone. I went into the Sephora in the nanuet mall, I was greeted by a employee who I found out later her name was Alyxx, she helped me find everything I needed! She was extremely nice and helpful very friendly. Every time I go in or call I always ask for her she knows her stuff and knows how to do a good make up application. I had my make up done on friday by emily, she was very knowledgeable about the products she was using. She was also friendly and a pleasure to work with. I loved how my makeup came out! However, when i came on tuesday to exchange a product, the other sales ladies were BEYOND RUDE. The cashier didnt make eye contact with me and the sales lady who helped me locate a product was extremely nasty and had ZERO interest in helping me. She was sarcastic and had a terrible attitude. Every single time I go to this sephora I leave wondering why I went. Id rather spend my money elsewhere and get the customer service I deserve. read more

I love all Sephora's and this one is clean, well stocked, and not as busy as the Palisades (which I find can be messy and overcrowded). I think of this store as my oasis. I've only ever had amazing customer service, and I go 1-2 times a week for years. read more

I love Sephora but this location was TERRIBLE. The first person we approached to help us was rude and started using the testers on my face without asking, and without sanitizing her hands or the makeup, then returned the brush to the bottle after touching my face. She made racist comments, and rude comments regarding my makeup questions. Thankfully a really sweet girl named Jasmine helped us before we walked out. read more

Customer service needs improvement. Took my daughter in for a free 15 min pop in session and it seemed we were inconveniencing the floor associate by showing up. In addition, my daughter was looking for a concealer to match her skin tone and we were waiting around for a while before I had to pull a sales associate aside to assist us. I love shopping at Sephora. Most stores I've gone to their customer service is pretty good. Unfortunately I can NOT say that about this location. First, I had to look around for someone and when I finally did find someone I was told to wait in a very rude way she walked away and never did she try to look for me or even send someone else to help me. I felt completely ignored. I stood around for a bit and never was I approach to see if I needed help. So sad. I do have to say this store needs to train their employees. Don't know if I will be going back or even refer others. Hope management does something about it. read more

From the moment I entered store #278 (Nanuet Mall) I was greeted with a smile from more than one employee. I was asked if I had an apt... I said no (I didn't think to make one). She said no worries and I was with my make up guru consultant within minutes. My consultant, Taisha, understood what needs/look I wanted.. She was able to expand my knowledge of makeup as it was a foreign concept to me. She used a skin tone IQ scanner (very cool) to match my skin color to what products they have. She showed me what came up on an ipad and we took it from there trying different products. She made me feel comfortable while introducing me to many products that fit my need. I never felt rushed and it was a busy Saturday afternoon. She offered me choices and helped me feel in control over my "new look". I appreciate the time and dedication the consultant took with me. So much that i purchased every item she sampled for me. I walked away looking like a new me which I loved and left with products to continue the look on my own. She even went out of her way to offer me to stop by anytime with any questions about what I purchased. I felt in great hands from the moment she shook my hand. read more
