Everything is so expensive and the staff are so mean and rude and disrespectful and horrible and terrible!

I generally find cosmetics stores super overwhelming, but had such an incredible experience at Sephora this evening. An associate greeted us as we came in and asked if we were looking for anything specific. We were on a mission to get some cologne for my husband. The associate radioed to the perfume dept that we were coming back and we were met with amazing staff members. We talked through and tested several colognes. We had some questions about products and the staff were really knowledgable. We made some selections and were rung up right there in the perfume section. This was an outstanding shopping experience. We were saying to each other on the way out that we will have to come back again sometime soon. read more

I stopped by Sephora with my friend who is getting married next April as she wanted to check out some lip shades for herself and the bridesmaids. Upon arrival we were greeted and asked if we needed any help. We browsed for a bit and then I asked for some assistance with lip gloss. I found a perfect shade of lip gloss that I absolutely love! The store offers many samples throughout and there seems to always be someone around the corner if you need help. This was my first time in Sephora and I was impressed. Although I'm not a huge makeup fan, I do wear it, and if I'm in the market for new makeup now I know where to come so that I can have some help. Sephora carries more of the higher end beauty and hair care products than Ulta, but also have their own line of products that are pretty affordable. This Sephora is is just like the others, with a variety of upscale products that you can test out. This particular location is a bit bigger than other locations I've been to; IMHO, they don't carry much more. The store is pretty well organized and staff will ask you if you need anything. I like the staff at this location as they greet everyone and will offer assistance, unlike some other locations I've been to where staff were very biased and only assisted those who "look like models." Most of the staff are very knowledgeable, a couple seemed clueless when I asked about a particular product, but I just brush it off since they are probably not really familiar with it. At this point reviews are place to turn to, am I right Yelpers?? LOL. Just another Sephora to come blow your paycheck with the lastest beauty craze. Parking does suck since of course we're talking about the town center. Every once in a while Sephora will have sales, so check their website or app often. My younger cousin is a makeup artist and we were looking for full coverage foundation, concealer, blush and brushes. We found exactly what we needed and more. Honestly I don't know why I bother to ever come here for anything. The employees can never recommend a substitute. I went for a blush from rare beauty they didn't have it. Then I asked for a fragrance and that was also unavailable. The employee apologized then offered a goodie bag. Not even an offer to make a sample of the actual fragrance that I wanted to enjoy while I wait for my order. The inventory is dismal, the service is transaccional not even engaging. This location is hands down my favorite, the staff is always so friendly and helpful! My fragrance guru, Liz, is absolutely amazing! She has paired me with two of my favorite fragrances thus far. Oh Sephora how I love thee!! This is one of my favorite stores in all of Jacksonville. Haha. I am a make up hoarder and I am not afraid to admit it. Most women love shoes or handbags. I love make up and skin care! This store is conveniently located within the other stores at the St. Johns Town Center. There are two double doors at the entrance, to the far left you will find make up tools such as make up brushes, eyelash curlers, extractors, and perfume/colognes. I believe they have quite a perfume selection! I have come here just to sample the perfumes and the associates can make samples of the perfumes or colognes in a tiny little spray bottle (sample size) but it still lasts a while, definitely long enough for you to decide if you want to purchase a full size. In the middle of the store you will find different brands of make up which each have their own row of products. Along the right hand side of the store you will find hair products, then skincare, which would include cleansers, toners, moisturizers, masks, etc. They also have kits and sets of different featured skin care and lotion. Around the holidays I feel these are more prominent. I have noticed the Sales Associates typically will provide you with up to 3 samples whether it be makeup, skincare or perfume (if you ask). The 3 samples per person may be a store wide policy because when you purchase items online you get to choose 3 samples with each purchase. Upon checkout you will be asked if you have a Beauty Insider Card. This is a free rewards program which for every dollar you spend you accumulate points and after you received 100 points there are fun travel size products you can either pick up in store at check out or online with purchase at check out. They also have 500 point perks which are larger or higher quality. You are given a key chain friendly card that can be scanned for this program or you can give them your email at check out. The Sales Associates are super knowledgeable about the products they have in store and they are more then helpful and happy to color match you or test any products on you that you are interested in. I was in store recently and they have a new system called Color IQ in which the Sales Assoc. removes make up from your jawline and neck, and by using a small hand held device that scans your skin (this does not hurt btw) they are able to color match you to any foundation in the store without having to individually match you. This is one of the most incredible creations I have used thus far. I was given a code and it was emailed to me so any time I go into the store or shop online I can give them this code and I automatically know which foundation shade I am in any of the brands they offer! I'm a liquid eyeliner gal and really appreciate that Sephora has testers out so you can test drive them. All eyeliners are not created equal let me tell ya. I have returned one or two items that I wasn't thrilled with once I got home. Since I'm paying top dollar I expect top dollar results. I'm not naive enough to think a little spackle will transform me into a Hollywood starlet, but I am vain enough to want to try. Returns are easy, especially if you're a rewards member; however, the service is not always stellar or even friendly. I'd rate it on the icy side, hence the 4 stars.
