Store wasn't stocked and when I asked for help the sales person seemed very bothered and instead of helping me find a product she pointed in the vicinity it was located. This is a nice large Sephora store located in the Garden City shopping center...the ladies greeting people as they come in are very nice and helpful, if you have any questions. Every time I go to this store, they deliver wonderful service. Whether I'm asking about trying makeup( because I wear none) or inquiring about a fragrance, I'm never rushed and the person who's assisting me has the utmost patience. There's a young man who is the manager( who has the most beautiful skin) who is so genuine and professional. I've heard how he respectfully speaks to the staff and is attentive to the customers. Until recently I've never been in a Sephora before and I'm sad I hadn't visited sooner. the store itself is on the smaller side but they utilize the space they have quite well. Everything is well labeled and the store is well marked to encourage social distancing and they frequently encourage proper mask wearing. All of the staff that I interacted with were pleasant and knowledgeable. they genuinely appeared to enjoy the work they were doing. you don't even get a fraction of that customer service at Ulta Beauty. This is by far my favorite Sephora to shop at. All employees are super nice and insightful. Every employee always spends a good amount of time explaining the different products or giving recommendations. No issues on providing samples to try or testing out the products with the mini makeover. I have had my make up done there several times and some of the artist I've had that I recommend are Patience, Vanna, Abby and Rad. Marwa is also excellent and always super friendly when I come in. read more

I got my makeup done (my full face) at this Sephora for family photos. I was THRILLED with my makeup artist's work. Her name is Carmen, and she was sweet, super knowledgeable, and did an AMAZING job! She was uber professional, but also very easy to talk to, very personable and kind, and answered all of my questions. Furthermore, what I really liked is that she didn't try to sell me everything; she wasn't pushy at all. When I went in to Sephora, I had a pretty bad experience. The cashier was a bit stand-off-ish about my return, and, in general, had a pretty negative disposition. Then, she forgot to put the birthday gift promotion in my bag, so, instead of just vowing to never come back to this location, I decided to call the store. I got Robert (in fragrance), and while he mentioned Sephora didn't usually mail out items from their store, since I live a bit far away, they would do that for me. He was the nicest, most kind person I spoke with at that entire store! The store manager mailed out the missing item to me, along with a bunch of other samples. Oh Sephora, what happened to this location? I was very excited when this store opened, super convenient and very large, but over the years the service has hit rock bottom. On my latest visit I was at least greeted and had a reasonable pleasant interaction, but the times before... on a weekday two workers were very rude because I interrupted their social hour to ask about self tanner. Then on my visit after that it took what seemed like an eternity to get help/check if they had more makeup remover in stock. If you have an urgent need for something at Sephora this store is "fine", but if you're looking for knowledgeable employees with a passion for makeup and all things beauty go to Providence Sephora, try a local beauty place or order online. read more

Every single time I have gone to this location, there is an issue. The staff is very condescending, and does not want to help in the least bit. I have called Customer Service to complain and wasn't given the courtesy of a call back. I think that I might be shopping at Ulta from now on. From attitude like you are bothering the sales staff...to not asking if you have a Sephora points card, it has become an irritating experience to shop at Sephora Garden City. I usually don't like to shop in the Sephora stores. The perfume smell is too much for me and I get an instant headache upon walking in. If I do go to a Sephora, I try some of their store in store locations like at the JCPenny where the air circulates better. So I'm 99% online shopper. The other reason I don't enjoy shopping in person is the customer service is a bit too 'attentive'. I prefer to shop without the sales push... I'll eventually find what I need without every single rep coming at me. I went in to see some of the UD eyeshadow colors in person, since so many of them don't represent well online. I did ask if there was a pallet for the UD eye shadows. One of the girls just couldn't give up on figuring it out. I wish I had remembered her name- I kept telling her I was fine, I would make something at home, I would be fine, don't worry. But she really wanted to solve the problem. I'm so pleased with the result. We tested it out fully... Removing a pot from the actual sample - which took time and persistence, but I knew that when I got home, it would be the perfectly sized solution to have a 4 color set of Urban Decay eye shadows. I've shopped this store for quite a while. All the employees have always been very friendly. Fast forward to the store is open again amidst Covid. I went in for the first time in months. I was greeted by a very young woman who was behind a table and who rattled off the rules which I couldn't hear because of her mask and how FAST she talked. She was a girl with a snotty attitude. That was fine, they're everywhere. But you couldn't touch ANYTHING! Why is the store open?! I asked. And her snotty tone she said that I could buy and return. Sephora, seriously? Online is fine. Sephora--didn't I just state in another review that I was your gal? Well, not in this location. Staff were aloof and basically unwilling to help. I darted around trying to find the lip balm I've been searching for, along with the eyeliner my mother doted on after being picked as a fave in Good Housekeeping. I finally got to the check out, and mentioned 'wow, this was advertised in Good Housekeeping, and it seems that you don't have ANY--what happened?' and got a short answer of 'there have been a lot of colors discontinued' in which I retorted "do you suggest something else" and got a huff and a puff that they had some regular browns out back. Heaven forbid I ask for something out back. My mom doesn't get out a lot, and I do try to be a good daughter y'know. This would have been a one star experience, but the REALLY SWEET! staff member who came out from the back with the eyeliner I wanted gave a two star experience! I was really stoked that this store opened up, as I really don't like going to PPM all the time--but I'll stick to that store. Way better service, less cramped, and much more organized. Am I really the first person to review this location? Well I guess sthey did just open last month. My Mom lives in the area and I have been eagerly anticipating the opening of this location; primarily so I can send my Mom here for gifts and gift cards! We came here the day after they opened for the first time. I have been to many Sephora locations all over the country but I don't think I can say I have been to one when it was so new. Iit is a decent sized location and since it was brand new everything was totally pristine including the samples. The staff was ON IT but I generally like to be left alone to browse. My Mom has since returned to buy her Clinique foundation and said she felt like they weren't terribly impressed and felt as though they were not going to be able to upwell her. Was in need of a new lipstick to match a shade I had of discontinued brand. Found two without assistance that would have worked but none on stock on the shelves. No one around to ask if they had them, when on previous visits to this location I was asked every minute or so if I needed help finding something. Eventually ended up finding something that was in stock on my own, but the salespersons missed an opportunity for a possible upsell. What a joke! If you actually want help look for the older ladies working on the floor instead of these young Catty employees. Trust me the older woman will be of more help and they won't look at you up and down with envy. Some of these girls are just plain rude. A very disappointing experience. Although I like Sephora, I will not return to this location. There were very few customers in the store when I shopped. I took my intended purchases to the register and stood to the right of and behind the only other customer at the register. Almost immediately, the young cashier stopped waiting on the customer in front of me and asked me if I was waiting to check out. When I said yes, she loudly and very rudely told me that I was forming a line on the "wrong" side. She ordered me to stand on the other side of the customer she had been waiting on! Considering that no other customers were anywhere near the register, whether I stood in my original location or 4 feet to the left was of no consequence. Moreover, the cashier knew I was the next customer in line and would have remained so even if a hoard of shoppers had suddenly approached the area. The customer at the register was as bewildered as I was by the employee's behavior. She looked puzzled by the cashier's comments to me and quickly noted to the cashier that there were no signs indicating where the line formed. In my view, this employee's rude admonishment to me served no purpose. At best, it was the cashier's sad attempt to feel "important". In any event, I obeyed the cashier's command. Lack of testers, missing inventory, poor knowledge of the merchandise -- everything felt haphazard and low-rent and the sales staff was largely clueless. I have had great experiences at other Sephora locations, but this one falls short. It's unfortunate because I love browsing the huge array of interesting beauty products that Sephora carries and this one is close by. That said, the staff at this location needs some serious sensitivity training. Apparently they don't care much about customers who are over 30 and don't wear a ton of makeup. The last two times I shopped there, none of the 10+ workers on the floor asked if I needed assistance - which I did. One sales associate was so rude that she squeezed right between me and the display I was looking at in order to help another customer. I was under the impression that these types of stores were made to help women of all ages figure out what works best for them. If so, this location definitely misses the mark. I brought my GF here to buy things for her birthday. While it was nice at first having the beauty associates asking if we need help after telling them we were good, it got really annoying after the 3rd time. It wasn't until a security officer came in when I realized what was going on. They thought we were stealing. I get it. So I am an avid on-line Sephora shopper as the I am not the most attractive, young, or particularly put together human on the planet. I cringe at the thought of walking into a store such as this and I get anxiety just thinking about it.... The store was overwhelming and very busy, but Eric made us feel as if we mattered to him and he was willing to ask us questions and provide the expert advice we needed. He was very knowledgeable about products and techniques that would assist each of us in looking our best with the least amount of effort. So we ended up leaving with a bag full of promise and some new found skills to freshen up our look as well as provided some guidance to my 21 year old daughter who is venturing in to the world of make up. I went into Sephora today eager to purchase some Fenty beauty products. I was unsure of my shade so I asked an available associate if I could be color matched or get a sample to try. She said yeah hang on.. I wait and wait and wait. She doesn't help me in the mean time she along other employees are suddenly asking customers if they want to try anything mind you I'm still standing here.
