On June 13th I had an appointment to get my hair permed at Reviva Spa and Beauty Boutique by Linda…read moreTrudeau. I have never been to Linda before, so I sent her pictures of my hair (to see the length), and when we spoke on the phone I told her I had previously dyed my hair with product from Sally's in December. I have gotten a perm on long dyed hair before, and two different solutions were used on my hair, one for the virgin roots and one for the dyed ends. Linda told me the product she uses is for treated and untreated hair and that it shouldn't be a problem. The only stipulation I told her before coming in, was that I did not want to cut off any length. *these are facts, no opinion involved in those statements* When perming my hair, she used a smaller sized rod on my hair. Since my hair is long, she didn't want the weight of my hair to loosen the perm faster. This makes sense, except for the fact that my hair is way too long to put the entire length on just one rod and expect the solution to penetrate deep enough for the ends to curl. I'm not the 'professional' here, so I just trust her judgement. After my entire head is curled, she starts applying the solution to my head, during which she got solution in my eye. Once she was finished she said, "well I went over your entire head twice, so hopefully that'll be enough to curl it". Not exactly inspiring confidence, but again i'm not the 'professional'. She brings me to the sink to wash out the solution and take out the rods. Now at this point in a normal perm you are supposed to apply what is called a neutralizer that helps the hair follicle close (the perm solution opens the follicle to allow it to become curly). Linda did NOT do this to my hair. By the time I got home, my hair was fully dried and I noticed that the ends seemed pretty straight. I assume this is just because she brushed my hair out to trim it, and perms never look good on the first day. I texted Linda to inform her and she told me it was probably the brushing and to wet my hair. I wait 48 hours and then wash my hair. Here's where things take a turn. I send Linda pictures to show her that my ends are still straight, and ask how we can fix this. She calls me and says how she 'does good perms' and 'this never happens'. That's fine, people mess up. I just wanted it fixed. We ended the call with her agreeing to re-perm the bottom half of my head and she is going to call me back when she has an opening for me to come back in. About 20 minutes later, she texts me and just says how it looks like it didn't take because of the color that was on my ends. She is now not only not agreeing to re-perm my hair, but continues to blame me for not being honest about the products I used, and is only willing to cut my hair to "see if it will bounce up". Remember when I said the only thing I didn't want to do was cut my hair? She refused to even give me a partial credit, because "I'm not responsible for something you did at home that compromised your ends". This obviously infuriates me, because I sent her pictures of my hair ahead of time and went out of my way to tell her I dyed my hair around 6 months ago with product from Sally's so she would know going into perming my hair. We end our texting exchange with the screen shot you can see attached to this post. Every text she sent was as unprofessional as this one. She never took an ounce of culpability in the results of my hair, and was rude and dismissive. I spoke to two other hair professionals, both of whom said my ends were perfectly fine, and that she shouldn't have put all of my hair on one rod and instead have done what's called a piggy back technique. The first picture is what my hair looked like wet and dried after Linda permed it. And the second picture is my hair wet and dried after Marilyn re-permed the ends for me. Please note that Marilyn did not remove any color or do anything to my hair because re-perming the ends. As you can see, my ends are in fact NOT compromised as the perm took perfectly and I have the curled hair I should have gotten from Linda in the first place. I only ever asked for HALF of my money back so I could get it fixed. They refused and continued to deny any fault. I will note that the salon owner offered me 3 products to try to help my hair, which I appreciated but it the bare minimum that should have happened.

The owner told me otherwise to cover up tracks when I brought my concerns to her. I was also told about the regular adjustments after the fact. Still no big deal, IF they actually lasted. I'd gladly pay extra to keep feeling confident and looking pretty. I have had short hair for a decade so this was actually something I was incredibly excited about. I almost cried when they were first installed. The verbal promises sounded too good to be true and I should've listened to my gut. Instead, I went ahead and spent $1215 on the whole process of color, hair extensions and application. This is where things went sour..... Within one week, pieces were already poking out and detached. I had to return to get them fixed not even a whole week later. The stylist sewed them on more to further reinforce them (?). I wasn't super concerned seeing as how I get that things happen. I moved on my merry way, tipped $50 just for the help and things were good. Not even a week later, things were even WORSE. Tracks were sagging left and right and my stylist wasn't available until the following week. So I was stuck hiding out at home until they got taken care of. I have a literal loop of track hanging on the back of my head making the length so uneven it's embarrassing. This was after only 6 days of getting them "fixed." My income is directly tied to my appearance so this was a huge hit on my sales. I haven't even been able to work because my hair is a hot mess. It's uneven, you can see edges poking out everywhere and it's worse than a bad wig. I contacted the owner who acted like it's no big deal cause I can get a refund on installment (not even half the cost I paid) and my stylist went from "oh we can give it one more shot. I have some tricks I can try. " to "I'm just going to remove them. But you can keep the hair." I asked again if there are any other methods or techniques and was pretty much given a big fat "no." After a second discussion with the owner, I'm told that the hairdresser never said that even though I have text evidence that she said she was will remove them since she can't guarantee they will last." Oh and she said they're "non refundable." Another lie. She never told me anything was "non refundable." She even had the nerve to say that maybe hair extensions aren't for me. The salon owner keeps saying how I can reuse the hair and should be okay with getting an installment fee back. But I did not pay for custom dyed extensions for them to sit in a drawer. Returning to get them fixed even every 3 weeks would've been fine with me IF they were properly installed. It's not even the money that I am concerned about. It's the principle and white lies or failure to provide proper information. I even followed proper care to a T. When your extensions are so bad you have to wear a hat or hood because you're too embarrassed to be seen in public, there is a BIG problem. I've had to avoid both working (in turn losing ALOT of money) and family/friendly events. Now I lost even more money off this process from faulty services. You not being able to get a refund for hair is not my problem. I paid in good faith assuming that I would get extensions that lasted. Not completely detached and hang off of my head two weeks in. They will lie, sugar coat and take your money saying how it's "unfortunate" that the extensions didn't work out. They'll say one thing to each other (apparently) and tell you totally different. The owner says "she'll fix them as many times as she can." Yet I was told that she'll just remove them cause she can't guarantee they'll last. I am pretty sure that is something you tell you customer BEFORE you take their money. I offered to even provide screenshots as proof that my stylist told me otherwise and the owner said that's not the case. That I must be "misunderstanding." I literally have proof. ‍ They offered to return the "installation fee" but the installation fee isn't even half of what I paid in hopes of having nice hair and a confidence boost. This faulty job cost me a lot of money and all they can keep saying is that I get to keep the hair as it that is supposed to make anything any better. I have been having issues since the first week. It shouldn't be the customer's responsibility to cover costs simply because they received a botched service. A reputable business would try to make things right. Not just take sides and repeat the same thing over and over. I refuse to let anybody push me around when I did not get what I paid for. Being a business owner myself, customer satisfaction IS important. You don't just tell them "tough luck." Buyer beware

I have ingrown toenails, so pedicures can be painful if they're not done properly. Paula and Leah take such great care of me that my toenails never hurt after an appointment. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. When we arrived, we were told Leah had overbooked and Billy would be taking us instead. I offered to wait for Leah, but my concerns were disregarded. The entire service felt rushed. Her toenails were poorly shaped, and the Dazzle Dry polish was thick, chunky, uneven, and left on her cuticles. When I asked for it to be cleaned up, I was told "after." For her manicure, she was left sitting in the pedicure chair. It was extremely uncomfortable for her, and the manicure was just as rushed, with poor shaping and uneven polish. We were then hurried to the drying station, where one of her nails was smudged. Rather than redoing it, another employee tried to smooth it out with her fingertip. When I asked if it could simply be redone, I was told, "That will take longer." At checkout, they also refused to honor the 15% senior discount currently advertised on their website and charged me $5 more than the prices listed online. I had hoped to find a salon where I could bring my mom and have her feel genuinely pampered and cared for. Sadly, this was not it. Several of the negative reviews described experiences very similar to ours, and I now wish I had paid closer attention to them. I hope the owner does the same.
