I came in to this location to look for a possible Christmas gift idea for my 12 year old niece. I had no clue what I was really looking for and it must have been obvious as a very friendly associate came up to me and was more than happy to help guide me around to some potential options from all different price points. This should be called the swamp ass Sephora. It was like a million degrees in this store, I ended up deciding to shop online instead. How can the mall get away with making employees work under these conditions ? I hope someone calls corporate about being forced to work like that!! I've purchased many products at this specific Sephora. The staff can be helpful although my only complaint here is the quality/ expiration of the sample products. I had someone help me find good AHA/BHA for exfoliation as well as some glow recipe products. She had made me a sample with the avocado ceramide by glow recipe. I got home, opened the sample to use the product and it was such a FOUL smell....it smelled old and gross......I'm now curious how often they check the sample products for quality control. read more

The girl that helped me out today took her time to help me find replacements for my favorite vitamin c oil that was out of stock, for the time being based on my skin's needs, skin type, and the ingredients of the oil I use! Well. Let's start by saying the return policy has changed and they expect you to check the web site for this. When people purchase gifts, normally the person at the register tells them the return policy especially if it has changed. The only access to said return policy is on their site. Not listed anywhere on the receipt I purchase a LOT. I mean my my point system is just out of control. The customer service I experienced today makes me never want to spend a penny at any Sephora locations or online ever again. Which is exactly what I'm going not to do anymore. While the items were purchased in the return policy, recently changed, I was offered no return or store credit for my items and sent away because the items were a gift and given to me not in a timely manner, which was not my fault . Every single time I walk into this place I hold my breath because the employees are so cringe and rude. I hate going to this location. Now I'm stuck with products. I always feel so intimidated by all the different options of makeup but they both took their time to show and explain different brands and why one might be better for me. My wife took me to this Sephora after eating dinner at Chessecake Factory since she wanted her makeup. When we walked inside, we were greeted by a worker and asked if we needed any help. My wife said she did so she got someone to help her. The other worker tried to match the color makeup my wife already had on. They went through like 3 different color until they found something similar. The employee was very nice and answered any questions my wife had. The best part also was that they can process your payment through their mobile machine now so no waiting in the checkout line. Don't be fooled everyone but this was my first time going to Sephora. I've never been a makeup gal as I usually prefer to go natural, but once in a while I will throw on some foundation and a friend pointed out to me that I had the wrong one for my skin tone. I went into Sephora and found a wonderful employee named Camila to help me find the correct shade. She attempted to use a computer program that scans my forehead to find the correct shade and after trying four or five times, it did not work so she spent time and manually helped me until we found the correct shade. She also informed me they have makeup tutorial classes which I will most definitely try to sign up for. They also do eyebrow waxing and have a couple of other services that I knew nothing about. I signed up for their membership and was informed you get a small gift for your birthday and can stack up on points for free items as well. For singing up she also gave me a free mascara which I'm excited to try out. I got their Sephora brand foundation for $20 and their primer for $16. The store is packed with people but they have tons of employees inside to help if you need it. read more

I absolutely love going to Sephora store at Westfield Topanga Mall to try new products. They have a fantastic selection and wide range of products. They have both mid to premium cosmetics brands. The Staff members are helpful and friendly. Generally the line moves quickly even though it's crowded. You can save up your points for a gift cards and can get a free birthday gift as well. I'm giving it one star because I'm not able to do zero. This store is a joke. I called for two weeks trying to find out if they had a particular perfume that I was looking for, but no one answered. I decided to just go into the store. I asked a sales person about a perfume name "WHITE" I showed her the image that someone had sent to me and I told the sales representative to make sure I was getting the correct product. She said "OKAY" long story short, when the person I bought the gift for opened it, it was the wrong one. I had to drive back to the store and exchange it for the correct one. I talked to the manager and she was rude and did not even apologize. I DISLIKE SNOBBY PEOPLE THAT WORK AT THIS TYPE OF STORES. They behave as if they don't need our business. read more

Sephora at Topanga Mall is the biggest disaster I've ever seen. All the displays look like they've been attacked by wild animals- smeared products, missing samples, dirty and messy, items out of stock. I was excited to see they now carry Glossier and when I got to that section it looked like it had been looted. I get that theft is a big issue but with all the employees wandering around, at least clean and maintain the displays. It just looked like trash. Store your products in a case or let the salespeople prepare your order with an iPad and don't make it self serve- prevent the problem! I had a $100 gift card and couldn't get inspired to buy one thing. When one goes to buy cosmetics, you want things to look beautiful and pristine. This was the clear opposite. Sephora Topanga Mall. I shop here all the time, I have always had a good experience until today . Today me and my girlfriend stopped by the store and we're trying on some samples when one of the employees told me we were not aloud to try the products. I asked the sales person if these were samples and what's the problem with us trying them. She yelled at me and said I was being unhygienic and that if I had a problem to leave the store. I said excuse me I have purchased many products from here over the years. I have tried samples and returned used products with no problem. She said you opened a new product, I said no this is a sample. She again said to leave the the store. At this point I did not pay her any attention. We got what we needed and went to the cashier to pay. We explained to the cashier what happened and she apologized for the other employee's actions. After all these years, this was the first time I'd ever been to a Sephora store. I was looking to match a lipstick color, which had been discontinued from Bare Minerals. If you've never been before, I could see where one would easily become overwhelmed with the vast array of make up and lipsticks. There must have been over 1,000 lipsticks in this store. And the music overhead was blaring! Kevin was so very knowledgable and tried his best to find a close match. He has an eye for color and knows his stock like the back of his hand. I go to this particular Sephora location frequently and I finally decided to get my VIB makeover with a $50 purchase. It was super easy to schedule ahead of time. When I got there, everyone was super friendly, and I was paired with Kevin. Kevin did a fantastic job on my makeup! He was so sweet and made my complexion look flawless. He even took the time to answer all of my questions and explained each step of the process so that it was easy for me to replicate the look at home. I was amazed how much I learned about applying my foundation just from his application. He even helped me find the products I liked the most and write down the color numbers so that I could find them later. I normally hate having other people do my makeup, but I was very impressed with the service that I received here! I ended up getting even more makeup after my makeover as I was feeling really inspired. I did get followed around by one employee that made me feel super uncomfortable. I'm sure there's a lot of theft at Sephora, but when I'm about to drop several hundred dollars on top of the money I already spent there an hour earlier, I'd really like to not be treated like I'm a criminal and get dirty looks from the staff when I'm filling up my basket and trying to decide which face mask I want to purchase. However, after being followed and sneered at, a lovely lady was kind enough to assist me in choosing a highlight and contour palette when I was mulling over the new Tartist Glo Palette. When I went to the store to talk to her, she literally turned her face and refused to talk to me, and on top of that, called the security on me. On more than one occasion I have gone in with my granddaughter to buy her products from your store. One more time she has asked the associates for help, they give her 10 seconds of their time and then run to someone else.
