I have been to several others in different towns, the Associates "Normally" will come up to you and ask if you need help , if you are finding what your looking for? Not here. It's self serve. The staff is friendly enough during check out, they do stop talking to each other then to show a little customer serve. They sell what I need, it's not a far drive, I can locate it in the store and it's clean. Clean is one star alone.

Then I started buying products online especially before and now during Covid (it's a small store, a little claustrophobic even) because I had problems finding what I wanted and the staff were never that helpful (you'd get that look like you were annoying them). Unfortunately, that hasn't changed & it's gotten worse. The nail supplies used to be in the front of the store for many years but now it's all hair color supplies in the front, in the middle and in the back with only a very tiny selection of nail polish, files & supplies (so we'll hidden I had to ask again where they were). I went there, hesitantly, after a hair salon recommended I go to look at the Wella Hair Color & Developer and swore that the staff would help me choose a color, answer any questions I might have about ingredients (allergic to Glycerin) and how to do the coloring system since it's different than L'Oreal that I used when I couldn't get to my hairdresser. Just as I thought would happen, I got very little help or assistance. I had to keep going from the front of the store over to her in the middle of the store to ask where I could find certain items that I had saved as Favorites on their App. I asked for help choosing a color and was told to pick what I think I might look good on me. I had questions about products I picked out but again, she wasn't that helpful especially when another worker came in and they started talking while stocking products. Oh and the young woman told me to go in YouTube to see how to put the hair color & developer together, etc. So if I do go back to Sally, it'll never be to the Wallingford store, ever. Hopefully the Hamden or another town's branch will have more helpful staff and a better store layout so it's easier to find products on my own.

Hand-made natural soap, body butters, facial care, even organic heavy chemical free laundry detergent. Then right in front of you but you've been too A.D.D to notice the holy grail, the messiah of lip gloss! There must be at least 50 flavors of lip gloss going on here. The good kind of lip gloss without mineral oil( you know that's a crude oil bi-product right?) in so many amazing flavors like cranberry spice, pineapple orange, butter cookie, pancakes and syrup, oreo cheesecake, and ginger peach to name a few. The best part is the owner of the store makes all of it and is more then happy to help you find what you're looking for and tell you about her products. Plus this place helps out local artists and crafters in the area. Plenty of beautiful handmade jewelry, candles, clothing and so on to check out. It is a little pricey but they're still brand new only having opened in fall 2011.You can support your local business and community in the process! I was dead broke when I happened to check them out but you better believe when I have the extra money I'll be getting some of that lip gloss!
