Von Beginn an sah ich, dass diese Idee zu wenig fruchtete und entschloss mich, aus dem Betrieb wieder ein Lokal für breite Restaurationsbedürfnisse zu schaffen. "Breit" bedeutet traditionell mit meditarinäer Küche. Gäste- und das ist fast wie schon eine Einzigartigkeit- sind bereits ab 06.00 Uhr willkommen. Geschlossen wird das Kiora während den Wochentagen um 23.30 und am Samstag um 00.30 Uhr. Vereine, Rentner, "Büetzer", Gäste welche gemütlich zu Abendessen wollen oder "Barschwärmer" sind das Segment, welches angesprochen wird und werden soll. ln dieser Vielfältigkeit der diversen Zielgruppen möchte ich das KIORA vor allem in Belp und der angrenzenden Region tiefer verankern und bekannter machen. Was bleibt ist der Nahme KIORA - abgeleitet aus "Kia ora", eine traditionelle Begrüssungsart der Ureinwohner Neuseelands. Ebenfalls bleiben wird die unseres Erachtens "geheimnisvolle" Bildbegleitung des Betriebes: Es zeigt eine junge, geheimnisvolle Frau.

First, you have to pay 10CHF to enter the casino then you have to find this bar. Which is situated with the only connecting path between two sections of the casino...so not at all like a speakeasy. The service was prompt but they had to look up how to make an Old Fashioned and told us normally they wouldn't make it. The onion rings, burger and chicken wings we all order were well made, so that's a positive. We just missed the vibe and so, we probably won't be back unless we're there to gamble.

Every place we visit, he always wants to have burgers at least once. I was looking at the map to find a good place just by looking at the pictures with some reviews. I found this place by accident so we took a chance on it. The restaurant is located inside a casino by the Swissotel Kursaal which we are staying fortunately otherwise we have to pay an entrance fee to go inside. My husband ordered their signature burger and I ordered the club sandwich which they both came with French fries. Let me tell you, when the food came they looked so delicious. My husband loved his burger and I loved my club sandwich which was like the one I had in Paris. The club sandwich in Europe is totally different from the one in USA. They are much much better. Also, the drinks were excellent. My husband ordered an old fashion which was not on the menu but the bartender made a special one for him, it was very good. Overall we had a great experience with this place, food was superb and service was excellent. If you are staying at the Swissotel, you definitely should try this place. They will give you a free drink chip when you enter the casino for the first time.

That said, I gave it 3 stars because there's not a lot of variety - neither in drink or food. Otherwise, the venue is great, casual, and laid back. Easy place to meet people because it's central, and the bar is huge so there's always room for everyone.

The order caused panic among the staff, who did not know what to do. After some deliberation, they built one with bottled lemon juice, Bol's triple sec and Sierra (bottom shelf) tequila, served in an old fashioned glass. All for a measly 15 CHF... On the plus side, the staff is friendly and all speak Spanish, along with most patrons. So not terrible, not great, but mostly not terrible.
