We love this place! We are Texans so we have had a very hard time finding good Mexican food here. I always order the enchiladas and get a combo of chicken and cheese. Their green sauce on top is really yummy and I love that they are generous with their cheese on top! My husband always gets the ground beef burrito and loves it. Their refried beans are good and kind of sweet, and i also like their rice. Their guacamole is decent, but not spicy and could use more lime. Their salsa is nice and fresh! Simple place, simple menu...my favorite part of this place. Too many places in south Florida over do it with the menu trying to offer everything under the sun. At least this place serves a very simple menu and its just plain simple Mexican...Tex-Mex actually. They offer burritos, salads, & quesadillas mostly. A few random things here & there. Maybe 20 total things on the menu. I figured I better get a burrito since it is part of the name. I got the one called Mole Verde which is just a chicken stuffed burrito w/a hint of refried beans smoothed in green mole (not sure its really mole b/c I thought mole was only brown & chocolate based) & cheese. It came w/rice and beans for about $9. Not bad. The chicken was shredded and moist...good. The salsa was good (could've used salt) and the chips were thick. After a fairly long day, I really didn't feel like making my own dinner so a friend and I came here to grab a quick bite. I've heard positive things about this place in the past, and wanted to try it out. It's in the same plaza as other restaurants I've enjoyed, so I figured this was a good place to head to since there were several options close by. The cozy restaurant was dark aside from the fading sunlight passing through the front windows and strategically placed lights hanging from the ceiling that offered a soft glow above each table. The handful of booths were full, so we sat at the bar. We were offered drinks, chips, and salsa right away. The mild salsa was delicious, and we asked for a second helping later. I had the cochinta burrito while my friend had the traditional steak burrito, and both came out pretty quickly. The portions were generous, and the dollops of melted cheese decorating the plate made me salivate. We both ended up taking half our burritos home. One thing I noticed was that the burritos were stuffed full of meat. I'm more accustomed to rice, lettuce, and salsa in my burritos as I like a little green crunch and it helps absorb juice from the meat. Though I enjoyed the burritos here, I still found myself missing the Mexican food I had on the West Coast. The pork inside the conchita burrito was juicy and flavorful. The sauce did soak through the tortilla overnight so my reheated leftovers were on the soggy side. I eyed other customers' plates coming out of the kitchen and the carne asada, fajitas, and flautas are on my list of things to try in the future. You have a choice of many Mexican restaurants, but this one is far superior to any we've tried - we now go once a week! This is not just Mexican, but mamma Mexican. The best chicken soup in Florida - amazing! And the addictive fresh warm nacho toquitos while you wait are hard to stop eating. My friends all agree the main courses are so delicious they all have come back after we bring them here. This is definitely what we think of as "hole in the wall" but the service is so friendly and also quick that you never want to go to an elegant place after this. Truly you will never find a better Mexican place to eat and it's also fun to come for a celebration -- they can make bigger tables for you. My personal favorite is the Mahi salad -- the fish is very fresh and the greens are super crispy. My husband likes the quesadillas. Check out their menu online. Great portions with amazing flavors in each dish we have always found a reason to come back and support. From the moment I walked in the door I knew it was a mistake! It was absolutely freezing inside, the chips and salsa that were served were DISGUSTING. The sals has to have been very old because it had a rancid smell and taste to it. I ordered a skirt steak meal that came with rice and beans. The rice was hard and dry and was obviously NOT fresh and days old. I asked for chimichuri, nope, they don't have it. They only has frozen margaritas so I ordered a sangria. It absolutely came from a plastic jug. There is NOTHING authentic, homemade or original about this place!!! The worst tasting Spanish food. Ordered a traditional steak burrito. It was dry chuncks of ropa veja with nothing in the burrito but sauce. Also ordered Tacos Asada. It was dry and salty with nothing inside No sides like onions, cilantro, jalapenos, lettuce, tomatos or any chili. They didn't even have hot sauce...Tomatio, El Pato, Valentino or something. The Mexican rice was tasteless with what look like pieces of frozen vegetables in it and the refried beans were lousy not authentic. They offer you a mild salsa or a hot sweet chimichuri salsa. They charge for and extra batch of chips and salsa. For a cup of hot water they charge like hot tea. My iced tea was horrible tasting. They are quick to get you in the restaurant. It was freezing in the restaurant and making the food cold. Service good, food horrible. read more

This is our go-to Mexican restaurant in Boca. The fish tacos and the steak fajitas are really good. Nice atmosphere if you want a quite spot to dine as a couple. The service is friendly and fast. We go there because it's quaint. It's not a giant chain. They aren't going to make guac at your table or set something on fire. Try it once and decide for yourself. But it is tiny and popular so don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit to get a booth. I would not recommend more that four. It's got a neighborhood feel. Disclaimer: THIS REVIEW IS NOT NICE, BUT IS VERY DETAILED. I want to give this place NEGATIVE stars or at least ZERO. Just telling you up front. This is one of the few times yelp or should I say other yelpers have let me down, this time epically so.. If you want to know just how BAD this place really is, keep reading, AND LOOK AT THE PHOTOS POSTED WITH THIS REVIEW. Before I even get into this review I would like to ask other yelpers to think long and hard before just slapping a 5 star rating on a biz, especially if you are an "Elite". Some of (if not most of you) would need to have a doc check your palate because I and almost any random person on the street would know after one bite that it is literally impossible to get a 5 star meal from this place. SHAME ON ANY ELITES THAT GAVE THIS PLACE A 5 STAR RATING. Seriously. So we decided to grab a late bite to eat and decided to try out Señor Burrito. We almost didn't end up going in because the lights were turned down so low, we thought they may be closed but luckily for them, I saw people from the light of my truck inside. UNLUCKILY for us, we went in and ordered from there. As mentioned before the lights were LOW, so it was like walking into a CAVE. We came in about 15 minutes before closing, so out of respect for the staff and our just wanting to go home and watch a flic, we opted for carry out. The order was very simple. One order of chips and guacamole and two orders of fish tacos, one with rice and beans, the other with the "spinach and cheese nachos". As we waited, we couldn't help but feel a little bit of buyer's remorse starting to creep in.. little bit by little bit we started to notice that the place was in NEED OF A SERIOUS CLEANING. We did at one point see some point see one of the people come out and attempt to sweep the floor (I use the word attempt because he "swept" the floor like an angry teen being told to do chores he didn't want to do, in effect actually kicking up more dust instead all while at least one person was eating. Our food was packaged up and we left, glad that we did not dine in. When we got home we went to go plate our food and and noticed that what was in the tacos was a far cry from what it's described as on the menu. As we opened up the tacos made of EXTREMELY LOW GRADE corn tortillas, we found piles of MUSHY shredded lettuce soaked in ranch dressing with a MEAGER strip of what they call "mahi". While fish usually has a bit of a "fishy" smell to it, there was a bit of extra FUNK on this stuff. Had I known there was ranch on it, I would not have ordered it, because not only do I despise ranch, but it has no place in Mexican food (unless you are a yelper with a broken sense of taste). The beans and rice were the typical CRAP you get from any of these BASTARDIZED mexican joints. The "Spinach and Cheese Nachos" were LITERALLY 4 tortilla chips with a pinch of spinach on them topped with BURNT cheese (mind you, this is supposed to be a substitute for beans and rice). Ok, WTF?!? So here we are, after the place has closed STUCK with this GARBAGE we just paid $32 for. WTF. My gf reminds me that she has a couple of tortillas and spinach in the fridge, and I actually had to SALVAGE the fish. F#&$ING HORRIBLE. I actually had to take this NASTY ranch soaked GARBAGE FAKE fish and rinse it off in the sink and make new tacos with what we had. Thank God we had a "Taco Repair Kit" on deck, or else we would've gone to bed hungry. An attempt to call the restaurant was FRUITLESS as they were already closed up when we left. Flash forward to the next afternoon when I called and asked for the "manager". I was on my best behavior and explained all of the previous night's details to her. Her reply is that SHE KNOWS THAT THE DISH IS BAD and that MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINT and that she has told the owner, but that ownership is happy with the product as is. I told her that I understand that mistakes happen and that I would I would greatly appreciate a refund for the food. She said that she would have to check with someone about that and would need to call me back. To her credit, she did call me back quickly to let me know that the way it works in their restaurant is that if they make a meal that is BAD that they will make another meal for you because they want the chance to keep you as a customer, which is ok IF you are willing to eat their food again, and we are MOST CERTAINLY NOT. What this lady and the rest of the ownership and mgmt have FAILED to realize is that it is on the customer to accept the offer of another chance, not for the restaurant to be CHEAP and not want to refund money for food NOT APTLY DESCRIBED or even worth eating. So, to the owners and managers of this GARBAGE PIT DISGUISED AS A RESTAURANT, is that your chance was to not RIP ME OFF, not try to FORCE FEED me SWILL I wouldn't even give to a stray dog. read more

I was in the neighborhood buying some chocolates so I decided to do a trusty yelp search with my phone to help me decide where to have lunch. Now, I'm usually not a Mexican (nor tex-mex) kind of person but the good reviews convinced me to stop by. I had the mole verde burrito. Holy mole!!!! First off, the burrito was ALL white chicken. No rice, or any other filling. And the chicken wasn't dry. It was very tender. The mole was delicious, I don't know how else to describe it. Not spicy, just very savory. It came with Spanish rice and re-fried beans. It was a LOT of food for $10. Quick and friendly wait staff. What more can you ask for! Since moving to Boca Raton this past year, I have asked a handful of people for recommendations of a good Mexican restaurant. Every single person mentioned how great the food is at Senor Burrito. I went this afternoon for lunch and was greatly disappointed by the overall experience. I knew it was going to be a very casual restaurant but, the food "supposedly" made up for the lack of decor. I checked out their website before going and was able to review the menu. As some people may be able to relate, sometimes you find little hole in the wall restaurants that have fantastic food and with this in mind, I journeyed to Senor Burrito not really caring about atmosphere but, excited and curious to see how the food would rate. The restaurant is quite small, holding approximately 6 or 7 tables. I was by myself and chose to eat at the bar. There were two young girls working - one was very friendly and quite accommodating and the other girl....well she was the exact opposite and the one who ended up waiting on me. My waitress seemed miserable- like she had unwillingly been removed from her home country and forced to work in this restaurant. Within minutes of sitting down, a bowl of chips and salsa was placed in front me. I ordered and after my food was brought to me, my waitress never came back to ask if I wanted a refill of water (thankfully the other waitress did) and was never asked how my meal was (which is key in providing good service). I ordered guacamole for my chips and was thrilled with the flavor and texture of it. I am a huge guacamole fan and am ecstatic that I have found an establishment close to home for when I need a quick fix. For my entree, I ordered the traditional burrito with chicken. I was less than thrilled with the presentation and the food was mediocre. Although, I did find the shredded chicken in the burrito a nice change and was happy that the tortilla was whole wheat. It came with a side of refried beans and rice. The rice looked so dry that I didn't even want to bother trying it. I ate only a 1/3 of my burrito and found myself still eating the chips and guacamole. Several people in the restaurant were eating salads but from the description on the menu they didn't seem like anything special. I heard one lady say that the Senor Burrito in Delray did something different to their salads. I wonder if the Delray location is nicer? While eating, a few people came in to pick up their to go orders. One girl had a pretty large order and before paying, reviewed the bill and there was a mistake. They had charged her an extra order of guacamole that she didn't want and wanted it taken off. My waitress informed her she couldn't do that. The customer seemed a bit pissed, maybe because she had walked in with the exact amount of cash for the complete order. I personally wondered what the big deal was but, I guess taking the extra side of guacamole out of the bag and deducting $4.50 from the bill was too much of a hassle. I can't say I have any desire to dine at this establishment again but, will be ordering the guacamole to go sometime in the very near future. I was there for less than an hour and by the time I left (around 2pm) the place was filled up. I have no idea why. In retrospect, I believe I would have given this review another star if the other waitress had waited on me. The only thing I can add to the conclusion of this review is...I miss Zona Fresca and wish there was one in Boca. read more

As far as bang for the buck, you cannot beat Senor Burrito!!! We're there about 3 times per month as the food is always good ,(Fish Tacos, Enchiladas Tomatillos, Sizzling Fajitas) - and the service is always fast and friendly - the staff always remembers us. Also particularly cool is that they have a "coffeehouse" type music playing while you are there creating something of a chill hip vibe... Fresh hot chips and salsa on the table upon arrival... Great little espresso and Flan too...ask for Gloria when you go in...she's a great hostess/manager. Enjoy! read more

Yesterday, we placed a pretty big orderFrom Señor burrito. The office manager went to pick up the food. Upon her return to the office, the three of us unpack the food, and there was a dish missing. We immediately called Señor burrito. Our office manager spoke with the person who answered the phone and explained to them, that we were missing one of our burritos. They didn't want to hear that we were missing the burrito. My office manager asked them if we could pick it up or just to credit us back for the one meal. They refused, so she said I'll just have her pick up her meal (my meal) On her way home from work. They agreed. About 30 minutes later someone from the restaurant called my office manager on her cell phone and was arguing with her about the fact that they said they sent the burrito, mind you remember it's just a chicken burrito. They sent the refried beans and the rice without the burrito. So then my office manager walked to her car just to make sure it didn't fall out in transit. The owner of Señor burrito called her again, and told her that they did not forget to send the burrito, they wouldn't make a mistake because 4 people were checking, they were not going to replace it, my office manager explained maybe you put it in someone else's bag by accident because we did not receive the food. She also explained to him that this is not a very good way to do business, it's just a burrito, she doesn't understand The food wouldn't be replaced? The person on the phone basically said too bad that's the way they do business, she said that's too bad because we enjoyed your food but we don't think we will ever be ordering from you again. BOTTOM LINE that's horrible customer service, and it's a shame the only reason I gave them one star was because the food is actually pretty good. But you can bet that we won't ever place an order for the entire office from them ever again. Shame on you for losing about 20 customers over a chicken burrito and doing bad business. read more
