Reliable, efficient, and a good value!…read more We found them by Googling and looking at Yelp, they have very high ratings which I now know why. This was for a one-way move from the Bay Area to Nevada, about a 4+ hour drive. Cost: reasonable and better than some other companies which wanted much much more. Fixed price based on what I described we had to move. I conferred w Nancy via phone, text, email. 4% fee if credit card is used. $200 deposit, can pay by cash/check/Venmo or Zelle. I used a cash app. There's no written contract. Moving day: Last month: movers Bao & Deng, don't speak English but seemed to understand us. Owner/supervisor Nancy came to out house to see, a surprise! Their moving truck was clean. Moved items from house and storage facility. They padded and plastic wrapped bigger items like sofa, dresser, desk, etc. They are efficient and know their stuff - what would've taken me and my family 3-4 hours to move they finished in 30 minutes! Nothing broken, nothing damaged. Payment: $200 cash tip each. $2,100 final payment via Cash App. Reliable, efficient movers, would use them again!

Despite the conditions, they were positive and efficient; even a stubborn king-sized bed required a master-level disassembly, and they handled it with aplomb. Also, setting up the move was long-time J&D employee Mike, who was completely professional and spot-on with the very reasonable cost estimate, even with the horrible weather. Hats off to these three and J&D (who had ironically moved OUT the previous tenant in our new location) - nothing was a slam dunk about this move, but they certainly made it seem that way.

The second quote was for 12K to move two miles. The first move was from San Francisco to San Rafael. It was about 30 boxes and some very small furniture and clothing. Excect on moving day the guys did not bring wardrobe boxes, so my husband had to bring all of our clothes in the car. No apology, no adjustment to the bill. A few days ago we moved from a small two bedroom condo to a single level home 2 miles away. We asked them to pack and unpack. I was told by Michael that they would pack and unpack for us. We are an older couple, both with injuries and so we were looking forward to the help. We were booked with 7 guys for 71/2 to 81/2 hours over two days. The move started off bad, as we were told they "don't really unpack as they are not organizers." We were confused as we were led to believe they would put some stuff away, which apparently they do to some extent. I asked them to simply label the boxes from where they took them. E.g. "Master bathroom vanity drawer." They did not really label stuff and to be honest, they just threw a lot of stuff in boxes. So when they got to the new place they did not know where to put some of the boxes and it was pretty clear they did not care. By 12:30 on the first day, Ronaldo (lead guy) informs me he can't complete the move that day. I asked why and he said several times, "Are you cool with paying me overtime? If I don't stop now it's time-and a half." At the same time he was also saying he did not want a long day on the second day of the move. So I contacted Michael who said he would talk to Ronaldo. Keep in mind, I'm there alone, while my husband is in the new place. Ronaldo is pissed at this point and tells his team they have to "Move this Sh__ !" I felt really uncomfortable. So they had no problem at all moving everything over to the new place. I think they left around 4:00 after taking a 25 minute break in the morning and at least 45 minutes for lunch, which I supplied and they seemed to feel entitled to. The next day they showed up at 8:15 to unpack. It was a joke. They stained the wall from moving. My husband just had it painted and it not take a picture, so we can't file a claim. He did get them to help put stuff away, but they mostly put stuff where ever they wanted and it was random as they did not label boxes correctly. They were gone bynoon however, so no one had a long day, expect us, as we are still trying to figure out where our stuff is days later.

I hired Oscar Movers who parks his truck by a post office I use. The first thing I said, on the…read morephone, was there would be multiple trips because I have a lot of oversize pieces. He came by to see what was involved and assured me they could get it all in one truck. He could see already packed boxes, so I showed him every piece, including 2 sheds. I said that the furniture had to go into the new place first because there were a lot of boxes. I told him, if they all are going to fit, to put the boxes in the truck first so they would come out last. We were moving only 3 miles away so could manage to pick up smaller items left behind. Day of the move, Oscar arrives with 4 other Spanish speaking men with some/not enough English. I emphasized to him that some things had to go first, especially the 2 sheds to go on the porch which would be necessary for the items already inside to get them out of the way, and to only take boxes and furniture, we'd come back for anything else. I assumed the US born "Oscar", who all the men called Raoul, was staying and he would supervise and/or help. If I'd known he was leaving altogether, I would have made sure the men knew what to do. We left for our new place and before we were in the car, Oscar was gone. He never relayed my messages to the four men. None of it happened. It all went into the truck at the same time and into our place, higgeldy/piggeldy and boxes mostly in the wrong rooms. All the small items had been picked up and the large furniture left behind. It was exactly the opposite of what I asked for. They even put smaller odds and ends, all dropped into odd boxes or whatever would hold them. These were all the items I requested be left behind! Now we are bringing back things daily that should never have arrived in the first place. At our new place, when the truck was empty, they informed me that they had not been able to fit the 2 sheds, our bed, The freezer, washing machine, 2 dressers, 3 bureaus with most of our clothes, an outdoor chest and 3 large plants. (Sounds like multiple trips to me. Does Oscar know his own business?) I phoned Oscar and insisted we needed our bed to sleep in, so they made a return trip for the 2 sheds, our bed. They didn't bother to take the freezer, washer, dressers and bureaus etc. on that trip. Then Oscar refused to make an appointment pick up the rest of my furniture saying there was no room left to bring them in. Even at the end of the move that day, we had places vacant for the washer, freezer, dressers, bureaus, chest and plants to go. If the furniture had been moved first as requested, he could have gotten them all in and he could have had a 2nd days work for his crew. It left our place with boxes piled on the floor and furniture, sometimes almost to the ceiling with little room to walk between with little room to walk around. I'm not even including several broken and misshaped pieces. (My packing or their rough handling?) If Oscar wants to run a successful business, he has to follow the client's wishes. If he had told the men anything, it would have gone better. If Oscar had taken me at my word, he would have had 2 days of payment. As it was, it went overtime and cost more than he had estimated. I paid in full.

I asked why when fuel is not being consumed while loading / unloading. The answer that is what we do. Wow, that is strange to charge $13.00 per hour for a truck not using fuel. Additional there is a min 30 min travel time charge which would be an additional $65 for this move. Not using them! This also appears to be illegal in California "Unfair Competition Law (UCL): Charging for a service not rendered (like fuel not used) can be argued as "unfair or deceptive" under California Business and Professions Code § 17200, especially if the surcharge is used as a hidden profit center rather than a cost recovery tool." Below is a reply and here is my response: The information about the fuel fee was presented to be based on a percentage of the total move time. Not your actual cost, which I would have been okay with. I'm not asking for anything to be waived, just transparency. Your remarks about your family are completely out of line. It's clear you want to change the subject from your questionable practice and make this personal. It is not personal. I don't know you other than how you have presented your business here. Very Questionably. I see you removed your statements about your family business. I provided the law that it appears you are not following in a private message. The first step was Danielle came to our home for the initial assessment which was helpful and so worth the additional cost because she helped us brainstorm so we could get ready for they came for the actual declutter and organization. She just has the eye for where things can go and how to reuse what you have to make it work. She says she's not an interior designer but she does appreciate "eye candy" so to me that's all I want. After meeting with her I knew we wanted to use her and her company to help! Also side note- Danielle is just the sweetest person and when I met her I just felt like she was an old friend that I hadn't seen in a long time, you'll love her! The second step was she gave us a wishlist and we ordered things so it would be here and ready! Danielle was awesome with giving different suggestions for bins ect so that it would match the aesthetic needs I was looking for. She also brought things from the container store on the actual day of the decluttering. The third step was the actual process of cluttering and organizing ! We had Fernanda and Klara come and they were nothing short of spectacular! They were so friendly and kind and loved my kids and dog! They are both hard workers and I know we'll use miss clutter again in the future and I want both of them to come to my home! They were efficient and so organized and had great ideas for items I didn't quite have places for. After the whole process was completed my kids have been able to put things back where they are supposed to go and my living room is not a mess anymore and it honestly feels like a miracle! I can't thank Miss clutter and the whole team enough! I will be using them again in the future and if my husband gifted me miss clutter for a birthday-anniversary I would be thrilled because an organized house = organized mind set = happy wife = happy life

UPDATE: Literally as I posted this review, I got a call from Danielle. She offered me a discount…read morefor the disappointment or her time and expertise for the systems I need in place. I am floored by her customer service and true desire to deliver for her clients. I stand by my experience, but stand by even more by Danielle's desire to deliver to her clients. *** Miss Clutter sends hard-working people to your home to organize things. I was a bit disappointed by the experience, because what I truly needed were systems put in place better than what I already had in place. The lead organizer did suggest a wonderful fix for an issue I had, so I appreciated and was grateful for her thoughts on the kids' art corner. Really grateful fix with furniture I already had in the home. Wonderful win! But I didn't get any other suggestions or any issue-spotting from the lead, nor suggestions on how to improve flow in the home. I suppose my own experience with other declutter businesses--like House of Love with Colleen Collins--outshined this one because I am a tired mom who needs someone to lend their mental energy to figure things out for me: how to better organize the kids' clothes, how to create flow for my own clothes and how to create a more peaceful office. Instead, I found myself directing the helpers on what I wanted because they did not have much to add in terms of solutions or issue-spotting. Even in terms of decluttering, when I asked whether I should get rid of a particular item, the answer was "It is up to you." I know it is up to me, but o need your help. That is why I'm spending thousands of dollars on help: because I am tired and need your advice and help to declutter, and see if I have issues in my home. Danielle said she could see several issues in my home based on the videos I sent her, but I didn't really get any advice on those issues. I suppose that is why it is really helpful having Danielle's input, but she never made it. She said she was going to stop by, but was unable to. I texted her afterwards, and she sent me some entryway products, but that was the extent of her input. Another pain point was when I needed to declutter the kid bookshelf. The lead suggested I look through it and see what I wanted to get rid of. I had to ask her to remove all the books so that I could go through them one by one, then have them put them back. I know it was the end of the day, but we had at least 30 minutes and I was surprised that I had to request them to remove the items. It's hard to declutter a bookshelf when the books are stacked on the shelf. There were other examples of how I had to ask them to remove all the items so I can make decluttering choices. They did not ask whether I had other kid books/clothes/items in any part of the house, so there might have been items that missed review. As long as you come into the situation knowing that it might just be people organizing, you'll have a great experience. They make everything look beautiful and clean. I'm a mom of two kids, so the places that only saw things folded and put back will sadly last for a couple of weeks only, but if that is your aim, then you've found the right business. I hate to write a review like this, because the three people worked SO HARD and were so kind. But I felt like I was sold on one product and given another for the same expensive price tag.
