His pride & joy was an apron one of the men gave to him to prevent spilling on himself (all the guys at the table wore one) He has now broken his back twice, had Covid twice & had a couple more falls without breaking any bones. It has been seven to ten weeks now and I am still waiting for them to return my deposit. They took my card for the deposit, but they said they could only refund by check. It had been well over six weeks when I called regarding where the check was. Someone checked and then told me that NO ONE had requested a refund. She said that she would request it and expedite the issue so I should see it within a week or less. That was almost two weeks ago and STILL NO CHECK. There is no reason for this. They took it from my card; they can refund it to my card or give me the check that they promised. LIARS & THEIVES I am sorry I ever spoke with them. If you can't trust them to do what they said, why should anyone trust them with caring for your family members

They started out in IL (independent living) and 3 years ago we lost Dad and Mom moved into DL (dependent living). All buildings are connected so Mom gets to see old friends at Sunday Brunch. (She is 93 now.) She has made many new friends in the DL building who are charming and so nice to her. I'm writing this because over the last 5-6 months I've been joining Mom for Happy Hour and have gotten to know her friends. I can't tell you how many stories I hear them share about other facilities in Dallas (Austin and Houston too) about how bad the food is and how they themselves (or friends) are ignored and not cared for. They told be several times that when they tell people how awesome everything is at The Forum... their friends don't believe it!! LOL, LOL. Well... it's true! Yes, I confess I take Mom to Sunday Brunch so I can get one of the best omelets in Dallas (in the IL building) and the rest of the food is so nice. My sisters take guests and we always celebrate birthdays and holidays at Sunday Brunch. Enough about that. Let's get to the brass tacks. The staff is probably the best I've ever encountered. If I'm with Mon and she has an ache and needs some Tylenol, I call the front desk and the nurse brings it to her within 15 min or so. VERY RESPONSIVE!! (Abbey is so awesome!) Mom has a Help Watch on her arm and can press the button and help comes immediately. As well, the staff will call me with every incident (like sliding out of her chair, etc.) Major or minor - they update the family immediately. AWESOME! Ok. So you are looking for a place for your parents. Absolutely check out The Forum. Have frank and direct conversations with the staff who show you around (and see if you can pay to sample the Sunday Buffet!!) Our family has so much peace knowing even the cleaning people care about a quality job and if they observe anything that needs attention - they alert the right people. Here is a partial list of my criteria: Cleanliness, good food, varied activities and outings, committed staff, complete levels of care available as residents age, on-site nurse, community involvement, family interaction and the list goes on. Of course, the price each month had to be reasonable. I looked at 15 different facilities in the Richardson, Dallas and Plano areas. I saw places I would never let my loved one go into. I worried that my loved one's needs and my standards were never going to be met at a fair price. Then one day I visited HarborChase in McKinney. This facility was exactly what I had been looking for and more. As we toured around and I met several staff members, I was struck by the happiness and positive atmosphere created there. It was comfortable to be around everyone and I knew right away this was the place I could trust to take over caring for our family's loved one. After a long meeting with the executive staff, all of my questions were answered to my satisfaction. We then took our loved one to check out the place and look at a beautiful studio apartment with a patio. He was hooked immediately and HarborChase became his home and our second home.
