We had an emergency situation where my mom could no longer be at home. She would not walk or stand, so getting her from her wheelchair to the bed and potty were almost impossible for my 88 year old stepdad. They both fell and she had to go to a nursing home temporarily. VNA Hospice recommended Paul and Shelly at Senior Living Specialists. They sent me a list of 5 facilities near to their home and I narrowed it down to one. It is an excellent facility that has lots of activities and engaging things to do for their dementia and Alzheimers patients. This facility has only 30 rooms, so my mom has good care as well as stimulation. She is in a shared room. I'm super grateful to the staff at Senior Living Specialists for helping me get her placed quickly and out of the nursing facility! read more

I had thought that I had an Assisted Living facility all lined up for Mom early. When Pop died, I called the facility to move Mom from NJ to TX as soon as possible. Well the place closed and I had no other affordable place for Mom to live. A hospice agency that I volunteer with recommended Senior Living Specialists. I emailed Tim Powell there and then we spoke while I was in NJ arranging my father's funeral. Tim sent me five places in Dallas that he thought would be a good fit for Mom. I made appointments with all five places in Dallas so that I could visit them when I returned the next week. Within that week I decided on a wonderful Independent Living community and put a deposit on an apartment. I moved Mom to Dallas a month later and she absolutely loved her new home!
