I purchased a Manitou Tritoon from Mark in 2017. I shopped around for quite a while looking at other brands and models. Since the boat I liked was a lot of money, I had lots of questions and did not want to regret my purchase. Mark spent lots of time on the phone with me answering questions before I finally drove down, 2 hours, to buy the boat. I've been extremely happy with the boat and it drives like a Porsche on water, especially for a 27' pontoon boat. I've actually had it up to 55 mph! I get a lot of attention whether towing it in town or on the water. It's just a very nice boat. We did have a cavitation issue whenever cornering. The boat kept up high RPMs but lost substantial speed in a sharp turn. After talking to Mark a few times, we decided to drop the motor an inch. I brought the boat down and Mark's mechanics lowered the motor. Got the boat back in the water and problem fixed. Last week: We keep our boat in covered storage during the off season and this last time I dropped it off, I'd forgotten to turn battery switch off. The house battery drained and I didn't catch this. I had my buddy drop me in the water and although the motor was running I didn't catch that I didn't have any gauges or power steering. With no steering, I had to get towed back. I didn't understand the problem at the time and although I knew it had to be electrical, I checked the fuses and they were all good. I called in to Semper and talked to Jason. This guy was very willing to help and told me he'd look into it. I figured I wouldn't here back for a few days since it was Saturday and also figured I wouldn't be on the lake this weekend, but I was wrong. An hour later I got a phone call from Jason. He recommended putting a jumper line between the cranking battery and the house battery. That was it!! Back on the water. Jason saved my weekend. He even called later in the day to see how things were going. I couldn't thank him enough. One last note: I've driven other pontoon brands and they just don't drive like a Manitou. You can just tell the quality between other boats and a Manitou. I paid $20k more for all the bells and whistles for a similar boat of a different brand and again, I'm really happy with my decision. read more

My husband went there because we were having an issue with the start button on our Suzuki outboard. According to their sign, they open at 9:00, he arrived at 9:08 and nobody was at the front. He went around to the back where they were working and they told him they don't open until 0900 (even though it was 0908). When he asked them about his issue they said "just because we are an authorized dealer, doesn't mean we know anything about it." When he asked about a warranty, they said they didn't know Suzuki had a warranty and that they didn't even know how to make a claim. They said they would charge $175 to look at it. Needless to say, we took it somewhere else. read more

Buyers BEWARE!! Drove over 4 hrs and paid cash for my $100,000 + boat. Mark is really nice making that sale but a nightmare while under warranty!! My brand new boat had MANY LEAKS!! After charging me $650 to tell me nothing was wrong with it (lake test). As well as telling me the breaks on my brand new trailer were fine. I contacted the manufacturer and showed them the video of the water my boat was taking in after being forced to spend the night on it. Not only did the manufacturer make it right, they told me my breaks were bad on the trailer. This is how Mark treats his customers. I will NEVER purchase from this LOOSER again! Manufacturers find a better dealership to sell your products. This guy is NOT good at representing your product and cares very LITTLE about his customers. read more

I bought my first second and third Sanger boat from Mark at Semper. He's a straight shooter that takes care of his clients. Great pricing and service. They always get me in and out in the service department so I can get back on the lake. They've earned a solid customer for life. read more

Today my husband went to purchase boat parts and he waited patiently for the Owner Mark to ask questions and find out what other parts he could use to finish up our Jet Boat. Mark was so Awesome, he went out of his way to assist the needs of my husband by helping him get what he needed. NOT only did he help him, Mark made sure that my husband left with everything he asked for. The staff at the counter was also very, very helpful and my husband came home so Excited and Happy with the overall customer service he received today. He recommends any Boat owner or perspective Boat owners to ask for Mark. Prices were very affordable and the place was accommodating for all of his needs. read more

We shopped around and asked for an estimate for a complete tune up, change oils, spark plugs and add changing another part since we just bought a resale pontoon boat. The entire Semper Team is awesome! Their indoor showroom is very large and houses a large variety of name brand boats! Mark is extremely knowledgeable about all boat makes/models. He answered all of our questions politely, professionally and throughly. We gained so much knowledge in the short amount of time spent with him! THANK YOU MARK! Then there's Teri in financing! AWESOME lady! Polite, professional but makes you feel comfortable throughout the funding process. She is very thorough and ensured we had everything completed prior to picking up our boat! THANK YOU TERI! And the Semper Team wraps it up with their parts and accessories expert Conner walking us through all functionalities of the boat. He made sure that we had everything needed prior to taking our new addition home! This has been an awesome purchasing experience, thank you Semper Team! read more

Thought I'd support a local business - but NEVER again this one. Instead of buying online (which was cheaper), I drove from Sanger to Semper to buy a part. The guy helps me out. I get home and realize it's the wrong part that he gave me. I call back and he told me "NO REFUNDS, NO EXCHANGES" and not in a nice way. Absolutely no customer service. I call back again and speak with the manager. Manager says he will exchange it for me. I drive back to exchange the part and after the manager walks away, I get attitude from the same cashier. NEVER AGAIN. Not worth my time or money. read more

Came down from Manteca to possibly buy a boat I saw on Boat Trader. I made the 1.5 hour drive and I am glad I did. Teri helped me with all the paperwork, sent me the Nada guide and all the information on the boat. She then sent me to Josh to answer all my questions and he did a great job, even helped me set up the Bimini top so I can see how it looks. We thought we had a problem with the trailer lights, but because of Josh's quick thinking, he determined it to be a fuse on the truck and not the trailer. Appreciate all the help Josh. read more

Took my wake boat in for a pre-Season service. Although I bought the boat second hand, it was originally purchased from Semper. I say this because they were extremely busy, and I'm sure it helped "service after the sale" so too speak. Mark was blunt, but I got the message. Bring the boat to me for a service, because your not in the system I want to do a complete service and start new. PERFECT- a service shop that cares and is thorough and keeps a record. Best of all, Turn around time was quick and fairly priced. Best experience I have had with boat mechanics in years. Also a BIG shout out to Merlin the parts/service desk manager for all his help and professionalism. Good team you got there Semper....... read more

Just purchased my second boat. Upgraded my 2012 Sanger to a Mastercraft. Mark has always made me feel like a VIP. All my questions were answere and attention to detail was clear right from the begining to the end. After my pruchase Conor brought me out to the lake and went over all the operating needs this boat has. Terri in the financing department made this purchase seemless. I had my Sanger serviced there, and plan to continue with my annual service with this boat too. I have never felt ignored not matter how small my questions are. This is the tale of two cities - before I bought the boat and as soon as I paid. Their team was helpful in the process of buying the 2001 Chaparral 186 SI but their "hand Shake" process of standing behind their name, brand, and service after the sale is not true. The young man who showed us the boat running told us that it had a leak that was fixed. In the starting the boat at the shop all seemed fine except that at the end of the process of buying it the trailer lights didn't work which I thought was Weird for a boat that had been "thoroughly inspected". They fixed it and we were on our way. The first time we took it out (one week later) and I returned home I noticed a lube leak out of the prop (I have been a boat owner in the past so I am somewhat familiar with how things work). Since the semper location is 2 1/2 hours each way from my house I decided to just bring it to a local boat shop thinking it would be something minor. It was not minor, It was a $650 leak repair that upon further inspection will end up being even more because it has to do with the transmission needing to be rebuilt. I had the work done, but sent an email to Semper about this issue. I was not asking for full reimbursement but I felt that a boat should have been in top shape before I took it which it obviously wasn't since this happened literally the first time out. Their team was professional but they offered no help and made it my fault because I didn't bring it back to their shop. If their product had been inspected properly I wouldn't need to bring it back to their shop since It should have been running at the highest level when they sold it. They obviously never did a thorough inspection of this boat but have no problem selling it to me at high-end of retail pricing. The lesson here is "buyer be ware". Mark and his team will seem to be very interested in doing the right thing until it is time to do the right thing, and then they will leave you to handle it on your own. As a used boat I understand that it is an "as is" contract but there is a common ethics that should apply. The Semper Team does not believe in this, although they have no problem taking top dollar for the boats they sell in a sellers market during the season. I will get the boat fixed the way it needs to be and I'm sure I'll enjoy it for years but if you're looking for a boat at Semper make sure you do your homework otherwise you may end up spending over $1000 to fix this like I did. It was a very disappointing experience after the initial purchase and you should be very Leary to buy a used boat from this location based on this experience. read more

Took our boat with it's outboard engine for diagnostics and repair due to sputtering and underperformance, and failure to run. Hundreds of dollars later, and after unauthorized parts and procedures, we took family and friends out on the lake where it died again. In attempting to backtrack and determine next steps, we called and were put through to the owner who was rude, abrupt, and defensive from the very beginning. We only wanted to figure out what we had been charged for, who did the work, and what the next steps were. No one should ever treat a customer like that, especially the owner. We are professionals ourselves and will NEVER give Semper Marine another dime of our hard earned money. You shouldn't either. read more

If you have no respect for yourself, this is the place to buy a boat. I drove 3 hours and came here to look at a new boat purchase. I already own 2 boats and was shocked at how pompous they were. I recently purchased a Tige Z3 from Semper Marine. The overall experience was extremely positive. Mark knows a lot about all types of boats and brands. He was very responsive to all our questions and provided a ton of information. He was honest with the information and listened to what my wife and I were looking for in a family boat. He made recommendations based on what best suited our needs and was not pushy in his approach. He allowed us to really dive into the nuances of the various brands and features as we explored his inventory. Once we decided on the Tige, the finance team was great at working with us remotely while we were back home in LA. They provided us all the required information needed to make this transaction seamless and were quick to follow up with us to make sure we were satisfied. When we picked up our boat, Ridge accompanied us to the lake to go through every technical and mechanical detail we needed to know or had questions about. He was patient with us through the process and very helpful. This type of boat was new to us so he made sure we were 100% satisfied before he left us at the lake. Ridge is the kind of guy you could surf or wakeboard with while you explore the capabilities of your new boat. After running the boat for some time over the next month, we ran into a minor sensor issue and Semper was quick to respond to the problem. They were thorough in their servicing of the boat and made sure no other issues existed. Overall, my wife and I are extremely satisfied with our new Tige Z3 and our experience with Semper Marine and the entire team. It is the perfect boat for us and our family. I highly recommend them as a seller and servicer of boats. In fact, my brother is now interested in a new boat and is planning to work with Semper to get him what he needs. read more

The summer really came quick and I needed to summarize my older model Eliminator. Semper has serviced the boat for years, but this time I was in a pinch. I called several weeks ago and Jason set me up with an appointment. When it came time pull the boat out of storage and get it to Semper for the prearranged service, I found out we were heading to the lake in 48 hours. Assuming what I needed done would take a few days, I asked "is there any way possible to fit me in and be able to get the boat out by end of the day?" Of course, there are many higher end and more complicated projects going on at Semper and at that time I wasn't given anything more than a "we will see what can be done." No more than two hours later I received a call from JT (Semper service) that my boat was ready and available to be picked up! Unbelievable! I am just a basic customer to Semper. I don't spend tens of thousands of dollars at their shop. But, today I feel as though I am important to them because Semper (JT and Jason) made me feel like I am! Customer service is both an art and a skill. These two individuals are talented and key reasons why YOU should do all your boating / marine business with Semper Speed and Marine! Bought a 2011 Sanger v215 from this shop a few months ago. I really love the boat. I dealt with the owner, Greg and I had a good experience. He is very knowledgeable about these boats and can answer any questions you may have. I never had any high pressure sales tactics from him either...very low key. I have since added a few items to my boat...sub-woofer...wake surf rack...speakers and had the first service done. He performed all of the work in a timely manner and at a fair price. Semper has a good selection of boats to choose from too. As with any big ticket item, you should do your homework before buying, no matter who you buy from. I can say that my experience with Semper was great. read more

I have been a Sanger fan for years and was looking to replace my v215 with the new v237. Being from Washington State, I didn't have many options for local dealers. In fact, I had no options. I called and talked to Mark at Semper and he walked me through the options and details of the boats. With his help, we built the boat exactly the way we wanted (including a custom paint color). In a few months, my new boat was delivered to my doorstep in Vancouver WA and I was more than pleased with the options and quality of the boat. My biggest concern with Semper was the location if I needed any warranty work. Well my biggest fear came to life when the windshield alignment seemed to need adjusting. However, both Semper and Sanger stepped up and took care of the issue beyond my expectations. Dave in Semper's service dept. coordinated the interface with Sanger and we discussed several options. In the end, Sanger flew a technician to Portland and took care of the issue here at my location. Thanks to Mark and Dave at Semper and their outstanding customer service, my concerns became a non-issue. I would recommend Semper to anyone, anywhere. read more

Purchased a used wakeboard boat from Semper Speed & Marine. Great experience. Since the boat was used, there we a small rusted out bow hook I noticed after having the boat a few weeks. Called the owner to ask the best way to replace it and he immediately overnighted the part to me along with another small pin I needed for the swim platform. I offered to pay, but he refused. This was a very well cared for new boat and I was simply asking for advice on accessing the area to replace this small part. Never assumed the dealer would give me the part or handle this minor issue. The boat was used and this was normal wear and tear. Goes to show you they stand behind their sales even on used boats. read more

Teri, you are correct Mark Semper did not deliver the boat to me it was your Service Manger who's name eludes me. Furthermore, he did not check fluids or the brakes themselves just assured me all was well and went back to lunch. I am sure he tells a different story which would account for your condescending and inaccurate statement. Yes, I did ask to be reimbursed 3 months later hoping that your company would do the right thing given my immediate return and complaint to a Manager with regard to a safety item.
