it's a very exposed marina, so not recommended for winter storms. The marina manager is very hostile.

La Conner Marina & RV Park

La Conner Marina & RV Park

(11 reviews)

La Conner Marina is a great place for boaters and visitors…read more The marina features extensive covered moorage on 8 docks, two large guest docks, clean and comfortable restrooms, large laundry facility, two pumpout machines (one on each guest dock) and expensive outdoor/lawn/picnic space. Most of the slips feature finger piers on both sides of the boat, making this a very desirable location for covered moorage. As such, expect a long waitlist that could have you waiting for two or three years. Plenty of parking even when they host large events like the 4th of July celebration. Staff is friendly, courteous and very responsive to inquiries and issues. I haven't reviewed the RV park, as I haven't stayed there, but as a casual observer, the park is clean, reasonably lit without being too bright, close to the restrooms and laundry, and a short walk from town.

I'm updating my previous review of the La Conner Marina (see below) to now include having spent two…read morefun weekends at the adjacent RV Park. The first weekend was last summer, and the second one was this past weekend when we "glamped" there to once again meet up with friends who were docked at the marina for the weekend. The RV park is definitely no frills. The sites are close together, the trees are few and far between, and the sites don't include picnic tables or firepits. But they are all full-hookup, the park is well maintained and quiet, and you can't beat the sweet streets of downtown La Conner being just a quick walk (or even quicker drive) down the street. There's also a bathhouse with toilets and showers, all of which were immaculately clean. (You can get the door code from the campground host at RV Site #1.)

Coal Harbour Marina - View of Canada Place from the Coal Harbor Marina

Coal Harbour, Downtown

coal harbour marina is one of those places that quietly captures everything that makes vancouver…read morefeel special. set along the downtown waterfront, it offers sweeping views across the water to the north shore mountains, with yachts resting in the marina and seaplanes gliding in and out throughout the day. on a clear day, the scene feels almost cinematic, crisp, bright, and endlessly layered. what makes it stand out is the way natural beauty surrounds you in every direction. the mountains rise sharply in the distance, often still snow capped, while the ocean reflects shifting tones of blue and silver. there's a constant sense of movement without chaos, seaplanes taking off and landing, hullo ferries arriving from nanaimo, and the subtle contrast of the yellow sulphur pile across the inlet adding to that uniquely west coast blend of industry and nature. it's easy to get caught up in the views, the water, boats, and mountains, but the seawall here is a shared, fast moving space, and the cyclist path is clearly marked for a reason. bikes move quickly through this stretch, and stepping into their lane, even briefly, can disrupt the flow or create real safety risks. the signage is straightforward and frequent, so as long as you stay aware and keep to the pedestrian side, it remains a smooth, enjoyable place to walk without getting in the way of others. what really elevates coal harbour marina is how effortlessly it delivers what many would consider a million dollar view. it's the kind of setting people travel far to experience, ocean, forest, and mountains all in one frame, yet for those who see it often, it can start to feel familiar. that's the reminder this place offers: not to take it for granted. this level of natural beauty, clean air, and open space is rare, and it's worth pausing to appreciate it every time. coal harbour marina isn't flashy, but it doesn't need to be. it's a quiet, powerful example of west coast living at its best.

We had problems with our first boat and Lothar brought us a replacement early the next morning. A charter company can not fix problems unless those problems are reported by charter guests! The San Juan's on their…read moreown are fabulous with more than a dozen great marinas/destinations to choose from plus even more pristine natural anchorages. San Juan Sailing and Yachting makes the experience accessible and delightful. Get your cert to bareboat a power or sailboat (they offer combo classes/vacations) or hire an instructor skipper- you won't regret it. The folks at San Juan think of everything, and unlike the global charter conglomerates it's a decades old stand alone Bellingham WA professional boat chartering operation with the principals involved in the day to day guest experience operation-managing a super friendly and over the top customer service oriented staff. They all appear to really like their jobs! They also run these "flotillas" where a pro skipper takes a lead boat with some stateroom guests, plans a whole week or longer itinerary for 10 or so boats to cruise around to anchorages and marinas- in San Juan's plus many go further to Canada overnights. Great way to get introduced to sailing the local waters. You can focus on the navigating and sailing/boating and someone's already got the stops, attractions perfectly planned, plus you meet some great people with you on other boats when you dock up or moor/anchor together. You are likely to see orcas, porpoises, sea lions, harbor seals and otters. Of course bald eagles, herons and all manner of waterfowl. Get your WA shellfish license if you want to drop a pot (on the boats standard) and get some Dungeness crabs to steam up and feast on. I went on one flotilla with furthest stop Princess Luisa Sound two days north of Vancouver (May 2023) whole trip from and back to Bellingham was 10 days. We lucked out with fabulous weather so I'm almost hesitant to tell people about it because it was so incredibly stunning and enjoyable. Secret I probably should keep. All the boats are professionally maintained and the fleet is mostly new or near new and perfectly outfitted for the experience- highly recommend. Full disclosure I own one of the boats (but still a "customer" of the San Juan Sailing experience) basically just a "perfect for me" way to immerse into new sailing grounds (I'm formerly an east coast and Caribbean boater) My wife (who is the consummate fair weather sailor plus food/cocktail steward) and I love the luxe experience of taking our own boat out as "charter guests." No "boat clutter" like used to develop on my old boat. All the cleaning and linens, galley outfitting taken care of. Just show up with food and bev! Fair winds‍

Seaview Boatyard North - Pressure washing during blocking

We're ready for us as scheduled with the slings, timely in how their professional staff came to the dock with PFDs to take over the lines and vessels to guide into the slings. No pushing on rails or stupid moves. The process went pretty quick considering the load and when it was blocked very quick and polite to ask about pressure washing and zincs. Of course I had them clean it as it was not bad but worthy. They gave that to the youngest and least experienced tech which is how pressure washing goes. I have better equipment for my business and they had little knowledge of the pressure washing gear. I could have maybe done a better job but I'm extremely picky and have forty years of experience with a pressure washer. It was certainly done standard to the marine industry. If it were a hull repaint and brokers, surveyor, and buyer were not there tapping their feet it would have been more thorough. The staff was kind, professional, and thorough and I would use them again if needed in this area. Not cheap but what is with a boat? I feel I got what I bargained for which is the most important thing as a consumer. Thanks Seaview North!
