This our second time doing business with Hall Signs in the past couple of years and we have had a…read moregood experience both times. It is an easy location to find and has easy access to their parking lots and loading docks. This time we ordered a custom sign 48 inches by 36 inches with our business name and address to identify our gate entrance. We like the reflective coatings on their signs which illuminate much brighter when headlights shine on them just like highway signs. We also ordered a standard metal sign with "No Trespassing" which they keep in stock. It comes with the reflective coating as well. The custom sign was supposed to take one to two weeks but they called us in two days to say our order was complete and ready for pickup. That is some pretty fast service so once again we are 100% satisfied. Prices are reasonable as well.

In 1960, Hall Signs was incorporated, and we warehoused our supplies in several locations throughout the Bloomington area. We constructed our first building, located on 3000 West Third Street, in 1964. Hall Signs' facilities and manufacturing capacity continued to grow to become one of the largest complete sign manufacturing companies in the United States. We continued the manufacturing of standard aluminum traffic signs and added the manufacturing of custom signs for Wal-Mart, Southwestern Bell and other major corporations. Road construction material, including cones and barricades, were also added to Hall Signs' line of products. In July of 1996, Hall Signs moved to our new facility, located at 4495 West Vernal Pike, which was designed around the processes unique to Hall Signs' operations. It's no secret, at least to those of us who work around the film industry (and I'm a film critic as…read morea secondary career), that Indiana isn't exactly the easiest place to get going in the film industry. Oh sure, it's possible. You have to really commit to it. For a lot of filmmakers, the lack of a tax incentive in Indiana is part of what makes it incredibly challenging. The folks at Pigasus Pictures are part of the growing movement to change that attitude and to bring high quality filmmaking to Indiana. Located in Bloomington, Pigasus Pictures made a tremendous breakthrough with their debut film "The Good Catholic," a film that had its world premiere at Indy's Heartland International Film Festival and was picked up by BroadGreen Pictures for distribution and can still be seen on Prime Video and iTunes. They've followed that success up with three more films - The Miseducation of Bindu (which also screened at Heartland), So Cold the River, and Ms. White Light. The name Pigasus is inspired by the inside flap of nearly every John Steinbeck novel. They contain a hand drawing of a pig with wings, along with the inscription: "ad astra per alias porci" translated in English as "to the stars on the wings of a pig." When asked about it, Steinbeck noted that it symbolized the people he was writing for and about. The creatives behind Pigasus figured that felt like a mighty fine symbol for a film production company based in Indiana. If you visit the Pigasus website, they have the hashtag #DreamsArentDumb. Indeed, it seems to be a philosophy they live out as they promote film here in Indiana and often use locals and interns from area colleges. In the times I've dealt with them, especially with "The Good Catholic," I've found them incredibly talented, a delight to interview, and incredibly committed to indie voices. They're a full-service production company Zachary Spicer and John Robert Armstrong are co-founders and operate as CEO and COO, respectively. Gordon Strain is also a co-owner. It's exciting to watch a company like Pigasus Pictures grow. So Cold The River is their latest film and was actually filmed in French Lick, Indiana at the West Baden Springs Hotel. Look for it later this year and be sure to check out their other three films that are currently available. It's a great way to support Hoosier filmmakers and creatives.
