    Been coming here since 2019. Staff is always super helpful and takes their time to explain how a new device works, how long pods/coils should last and never try to sell me stuff I don't need. Their selection of flavors is massive and the prices can't be beat anywhere in OC. Highly recommended!

    This establishment is clean and classy and well run by staff that cares about educating their customers on new models, flavors and technical details of their devices. I found the accessories I was looking for and then some. They have all of the latest gear and alternative products that adults would want and are responsible about enforcing adult only sales. Their prices are at or below online prices so the value of having this stick locally is great. Would give them more stars if I could!

    My experience with Select Vape is mixed. On one hand, their prices are unbeatable by brick-and-mortar vape shops because they are a wholesaler that gets a lower price therefore can offer competitors a great price. On the other hand, the prices are all sorts of messed up when I go in store versus order online for pickup. I've been going here since someone recommended it to me in 2020. I probably have spent more than $500 throughout the year. My most recent experience in store was not the best. I decided to go in store because I didn't have time to browser online. I went in with the assumption that the price I see online is what I'll get in-store. Granted, I did tip 15% because I had a great convo with the person who helped me. I ended up spending $85 for something that ends up being $60 before tax. I recommend ordering online for store pick-up instead of having an experience like mine.

    When I got home, I was so excited to remove The plastic wrap and start using it, but when I got home and took the product out of the bag, there wasn't a plastic wrap on the vape mod box, so I don't know if they gave me the on display? It should have been sealed in plastic wrap if it was from the back. But overall the employee was very nice

    Select Vape cares about their customers. Their manager, Matt, promptly called me regarding a shipping mishap with my online order, and he worked quickly to remedy the issue. He went above and beyond to ensure my package was successfully delivered to me the next day. Select Vape has earned my respect and trust with their excellent customer service. Matt was friendly and professional during our phone call, which was much appreciated. In the end, I am very happy and grateful. I will now be a repeat customer, and I highly recommend ordering from them.

I used to chat with Mike at the store he managed on Bristol Ave formerly. Now today I got the story straight from the crew at both locations and my guy Johnny at the location here on Newport Blvd North and Wilson in Costa Mesa. First, make sure that you're headed north on Newport Blvd back in the direction of Santa Ana. Then just past 23rd Street you'll see the stop light at Wilson. The center is immediately on the right, be careful as the parking lot is rather tight. Also there's the 7/11 right next door. My guy Johnny was also super nice and accommodating when I asked him if I could take some pictures. One thing I noticed was that this location also has a good selection of Kratom from various brands. Really nice to add to your coffee or in a protein shake. Also this location has a cool Zippo lighter display with a decent selection of cool lighters. A slightly larger selection of Hookahs than the Newport/Balboa store. Everything else is solid and quite comparable to the Balboa store. Fantastic service whichever locations you might find yourself visiting. What I personally like is that these are family owned and operated, veteran owned, and have provided the community around Costa Mesa, Newport, Irvine, area for over a couple of decades now. You can't go wrong with stopping by any of the stores, they have exactly what you need and the best crews in store there to help you get exactly what you want. I HIGHLY recommend the Up In Smoke stores whichever location is nearest you. Enjoy!!

    "Congrats, You Lost a Loyal Customer Over a $1 Water Bottle!"…read more I've been going to this smoke shop for TWO YEARS, dropping enough cash on vapes and juice to probably fund the owner's next vacation. Easily over $2,500 in clouds of fruity smoke. So imagine my shock when one of the owners comes sprinting after me like I'm shoplifting diamonds... over a ONE DOLLAR WATER BOTTLE. Mind you, they've given me water for free before. But suddenly, this $1 bottle must've been liquid gold. The look of pure existential frustration in the owner's eyes was like I'd just asked him for his firstborn child instead of a sip of Dasani. I guess loyalty means nothing when they're counting pennies. So here's the deal: Thousands spent on vapes? Check. Loyal customer for 2 years? Check. Free water bottle? DENIED. I hope that $1 was worth it, because you officially lost a customer who practically pays your electric bill. I'll be taking my vape habit (and my thirst) elsewhere. P.S. Next time, maybe save the Olympic-level sprinting for actual shoplifters... not your regulars who keep you in business.

    I had a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience here, and the follow-up phone call made it…read moreworse. I understand that vape/tobacco products require age verification, and I had no issue showing my ID. My ID was checked and scanned, and I fully respect the need to follow age verification policies. The problem was with how the situation was handled and how inconsistently the policy seemed to be applied. My partner was the person actually purchasing and paying for the product. He handed the employee my ID because I tend to lose it, so he was holding onto it for me. I was not refusing to show identification, and there was never any issue verifying my age. However, after scanning my ID, the employee lectured me and said that next time I personally needed to hand him my ID or he would refuse the sale. What made the interaction feel inconsistent was that my partner's ID was never checked, even though he was the one making the purchase. When I later asked about this, I was told it was because my partner "didn't look under 30." That explanation did not make much sense to me because I am 30, my partner is 33, and we both look relatively young. If the concern was strictly about following protocol, it would have made more sense to also verify the ID of the person actually paying rather than singling me out. The follow-up phone call made the experience even more frustrating. Instead of allowing me to speak with the store manager, the employee dismissed my concerns and told me I "didn't know the law." I was not arguing against ID checks or store policy. I was simply questioning why the policy appeared to be enforced inconsistently and why I was being corrected and lectured while the actual purchaser was not checked at all. This situation could have been handled much more respectfully with a calm explanation or by allowing me to speak with a manager. Instead, I left feeling talked down to, dismissed, and unfairly singled out. Based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning to this store.
