The finished piece's dimensions are only 11" x 24"-- so QUITE small in the grand scheme of things. Several vendors I had called previously informed me that they don't take on such niche projects. Custom Marble Design, however, were the first to respond and went above and beyond in their customer service, execution, and workmanship. As soon as they received my inquiry, they extended an invite to visit their location and shop thru available remnants. When I arrived, I was personally escorted around the premises and shown a variety of options (multiple stone types and color variations.) I had lots of questions-- all of which were answered thoroughly and kindly. Even though I arrived about 30 minutes before closing time (I received their invite while I was running errands & headed straight over), I never felt rushed or dismissed. My "little project" was treated with the utmost care & respect. This location also offered me a flat rate price for the project, so there were no hidden fees or complications regarding the stone I selected or my finishing parameters. I officially placed my order (stone selection and project specs) on Tuesday and was shocked to learn that it was ready for pick up that Friday. I just picked up the finished stonework today & could not be more pleased with the results! The order was completed to my exact specifications & finished with care. When I told them that I'd carry the piece to my car they insisted on taking it out for me. Everyone I encountered at this business (in person & via email) was exceptionally attentive, professional, and kind. (Special thanks to Bojan & Jovan and their fabulous fabricators!) A representative from KCD came out to sketch out the plan and provided a free quote, including 3D models. It only took a few days, and cabinets arrived in less than two weeks. I ordered the Charleston White, the qualities on these are great and have now lasted through the first year with no issues. My tenant loves them. Now I was planning on another renovation project for another rental unit before my tenant decided to renew the lease. This time, I ran into a bit of an issue with communication between the KCD rep about getting quotes. I was pretty upset and wrote an email about the poor service, come to find out, they had system issues and was not receiving the emails. The owner contacted me directly and was deeply apologetic. He even offered an extremely generous discount. Unfortunately the project did not go through however, I truly appreciate any business who shows great customer support. We were very happy with the quality and craftsmenship on how they were made. As well as, the shades available for ordering. As it turned out we contacted KCD and spoke with Peter, was to be our rep. Peter was always so professional and patient with us during our many design changes. He never made us feel that we were being a bother. He also gave us great ideas for the kitchen design and answered all of our questions and concerns quickly. There were many emails over the course of this whole project. Peter even came to our home just to make sure everything was in order before finalizing our purchase. Peter did initially come over for our original measure and in most cases that is pretty much all that is needed for a kitchen cabinet project. When the cabinets, they need to be inspected for any defects/damage. There was an issue we had regarding a shelf as well an adjustment issue we needed on our lazy susan cabinet. Peter was very quick to get back with us. As well as, get us in touch with Sergei at the Chicago location, whom handles issues like this. Sergei came over to our issue and immediately arranged for their service person to come over and took care of everything.
