I was getting PT for mild sciatica symptoms that were starting to get better. Jeff Gutierrez did not listen to me when I told him that certain exercises he had me doing were causing pain, and he manipulated my low back knowing that a chiropractor manipulating my low back caused me problems. He made me do 10 different things that caused a massive pain flare up, and the pain escalated to a level I had never experienced before. He displayed a smug, mocking tone with me, and his incompetence made my condition worse for years. Yeah I find it really funny to laugh at me because I'm nervous about getting physical therapy while in pain. Eye roll.
The worst part about this experience is my losing trust in the medical system and having trauma intensify my fear of working with subsequent health professionals. Other physical therapists that I ended up working with told me that he tried way too much with me to start with, especially considering the fact that my diagnosis was unclear at that time.
I tried to speak about this on the phone with him, and he just told me that this might be normal for me. There is absolutely nothing normal about both your legs and feet burning! I spoke to the regional director, Glenn Gomez, and he did not do anything either. My review on Google was never responded to. And no one apologized to me for the years of suffering that happened to me and my partner because of Jeff Gutierrez. (It's not like they're going to lose their jobs, the decent human thing to do would be to apologize). The only proof I have is the thousands of dollars my husband and I spent on finding competent, caring people to help me out of network. As far as my case is concerned, Select Physical Therapy did not care about me at all. Because of Jeff Gutierrez, I have lived with the type of pain that people commit suicide to escape. But they only care about covering their behinds. It's disgusting and shameful.
Edit: I made an attempt to contact Susan, the person who responded to my review below, and no one at this location knew who she was. As you can see below, Susan gave me no means of contacting her, so I'm not getting the impression that she's serious about having a constructive conversation. read more
