I went to the other 95th St location for a pre-employment drug test and physical. To make a very…read morelong story short, I was told that my drug test was "positive for something" but they would not say what it was positive for-- after it was sent out to a lab it was reclassified as "no cause for questions or concerns", and they still wouldn't tell me what they saw on the initial screen. It would be great to have that information, considering it's my body fluid and my health, but apparently they don't tell anyone anything. It started my employment off with some tension between me and my Human Resources department. I went back for the physical, and after checking in, I waited over two hours. I knew that others who came after I did were going ahead of me, so I went to the desk to find out why. Guess what? I hadn't been checked in!! I understand mistakes happen, but an "I'm sorry about that" would go a long way toward creating good will. Once I was checked in, I was in and out in 15 minutes. The PA who did my exam was adequate, but very unfriendly and cold. I get it-- they're not working for me, but the atmosphere in there is dark and cold. A few smiles and a pleasant greeting would bring it up a thousand percent. They sent me a text later that afternoon, asking me to rate their service between 0-10 -- I texted back a "3". That was the end of it. I guess they don't want to know why, or hear negative responses. They didn't acknowledge my response at all!! Kind of a crazy way to do business.

After completing, I was called back no more than 15 minutes later for my screening. The screening took about 5 minutes and the nurse was kind and told me the steps that would happen next. I'm not sure if I just got lucky with wait times but my experience was pleasant. They also have complimentary coffee and cream.

Prior to coming to Khemraj Physical Therapy I had been attending another physical therapy office for about 4 months and had stopped atrending because I did see/feel any sort of progress with my injury. In half the time at Khemraj Physical Therapy I've not only seen/felt progress, I've been given stretches and exercises to support my appointments. I showed up a bit early and Sydney (my Occupational Therapist) was already there expecting me. She was very patient and helpful in finding the right one for me at the lowest possible cost. She also made sure I knew how to take the splint off. She also took time to explain how my injury was healing, so that I knew why I had to have the splint on 100% of the time over the next few weeks. The benefits coordinator (?) Sarah was also great, she had to stay on the phone with the insurance company while helping another patient check in as she came in. No one wishes to have to have PT or OT, but if you do, then SERC is the place to ensure a positive experience for you.

I've never seen this offered at other therapy locations. They really are forward-thinking when it comes to therapy and once you are done getting rehabilitated they have a training center attached to make sure you are not only able to enjoy your newfound health but to train properly under careful supervision because proper training can prevent future injuries. All in all, the reason why I think this place is amazing is that the staff here is really caring and personable. All they want to do is have you work out and work out and work out. Got tired of hearing " 3 sets of 10" on every exercise. I went home in way more pain then I started on first visit. Then back 2 days later, same thing. Then after my work out, I'm down in the back all weekend and still not where I was 2 weeks ago. I guess the dr orders were too hard to follow.... Won't be going back there....
