In fact, I chose not to travel out of town that weekend specifically because I did not want to miss this appointment. I also completed all intake forms and paperwork online ahead of time to make the process as smooth as possible. Unfortunately, there was a major accident on the highway during my 40-minute drive to the office. As soon as I realized I would be delayed, I called the office twice, but no one answered. I left a voicemail explaining the situation and letting them know I was still on my way. I finally received a callback when I was only two minutes away from the office. I informed the front desk that I was pulling into the parking lot. When I arrived, approximately 20 minutes into my one-hour appointment, I was told that my therapist, Grant Mullins, would not be able to see me because an entire hour was required for the initial assessment. What made this especially frustrating was the complete lack of flexibility, empathy, or effort to find a solution. Grant was present and watched the conversation taking place at the front desk from one of the treatment stations, yet never approached me to discuss the situation personally. There were no patients with him at the time, as the appointment slot had been reserved for me. Rather than attempting a shortened evaluation, discussing next steps, or even acknowledging the inconvenience, I was simply turned away after driving 40 minutes to get there. I understand that schedules matter and that policies exist. However, exceptional patient care requires communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy. After making every reasonable effort to notify the office of my delay, completing all paperwork in advance, and arriving ready for my appointment, I expected far better treatment. Instead, I left feeling ignored, disrespected, and as though my time had no value. I don't know if race has anything to do with it, but it's an all white office in Tennessee, and I am black. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this practice and will be seeking care elsewhere.

At first, my…read morehusband was a little hesitant (let's be honest so was I) but we both quickly realized the professionalism and great competence of the nurse midwives after seeing them react perfectly when I passed out during a blood drawing at one of my first appointments. After I gave birth, my husband told me he was brought to tears by witnessing the power of women coming around each other during labor. My first appointment was virtual, and Alys answered every single question and concern I had about their safety protocols and their statistics on transfer rates with confidence. I asked all of the hard questions and was impressed by their protocols. Around six weeks, I thought I was having a miscarriage and Emily answered my frantic call to the birth center. She was the most compassionate and calming person and walked me through that. She got me an appointment the very next day to ensure everything was okay with the baby. I failed my first gestational diabetes test, and had to do the second test that had four blood drawings. I got to lay in one of the king-size beds in one of the birthing suites. I got to take a nap in the bed And I felt like I was in a hotel room. During my actual labor and delivery, It was way harder than I thought it would be. But having the fortune of laboring in a space, that was so comforting and personalized it made a big difference. I would not have made it without my personal Doula or the nitrous oxide(!!) they provided at the Birth Center. My daughter had the cord wrapped around her neck, and Melan acted swiftly to somersault her so that she wasn't hurt. I had a second-degree tear and Melan stitched me perfectly. After birth, my daughter needed some extra monitoring at Vanderbilt, and Jenissa personally walked us into the hospital and got a situated in our room with the nurse at the Vanderbilt Hospital. Never once did I feel shame for my weight, for any questions that I had, or feeling like I was imposing. At every step of the way, I was empowered, encouraged and taken care of with the utmost care. I relied on the nurse midwives to help me come up with a birth plan, and take care of myself and my baby with evidence-based statistics. I am so grateful for every single interaction I had at the Vanderbilt Birth Center and I wish Every woman had the opportunity to experience a tender, loving, professional care I received here. I am so torn since I love the idea of the birth center and having a nautral birth. However, the process there feels so systematic now and I feel like I was treated like a statistic than a person. Also, there are midwives on call, but you have to go through a call center to get to a midwife and I have never been able to get anyone on the phone. They always need to call back hours or days later. It is frustrating to not be able to talk to an actual person who can talk and having to give your personal information over and over again. Overall, I do not feel like they provided the help needed at crucial times for me. I would recommend going elsewhere for more hands on care and for someone more in tune with your needs. Pros: I love how supportive they were when I needed to have my blood drawn. They have aromatherapy and encouraging nurses. The birthing rooms feel like home and have a lot of nice things to use to help aid giving birth. There classes are also very informative. Cons: Gave misinformation numerous times and didn't bother reading my file on my first pregnancy when I came in pregnant again. My first pregnancy was a bit traumatic (leading to a hospital transfer and forceps) and I feel like they could have handled the matter more delicately. They also have much stricter rules about COVID than most doctor's offices. (Need to wait outside until someone comes to your car and takes your temp.. No one allowed in for appointments with you, etc) They have a very high transfer rate to the hospital and it is a little scary needing to get in a car and have your husband drive you to the hospital mid delivery.

All while in labor with my first, possibly only, child. I had read hours upon hours about my risks (low) she read the front page and none of the linked studies on vaginal birth after fibroid removal surgery then used fear mongering to scare my family. When I disagreed she made up a diagnosis without any labs, signs or symptoms and forced medication into my IV while I slept. I probably had toxicity based on symptoms, but no labs were checked for another 12 hours. They withheld significant information from me, making informed consent iffy at best. Because of the medications I was given I have almost no memory for 36 hours, including the birth and first day of my little one's life. It is devastating. Because of their interventions I had a massive hemorrhage a few hours after birth, where an emergency team was required to stop my bleeding (~2.7L between surgery, a small hemorrhage, and the severe hemo). I struggle with severe birth trauma, postpartum depression w/suicidal ideation, PTSD, and body dysmorphia (from the unwanted and completely unnecessary C-section). This practice does have some very kind people, but you don't get to choose who you get. I have heard a few reports of lovely births...follow your gut and hire a doula for added support/protection.

I actually found this place on an Internet search because I wanted to stay local and see if there was something better out there, which in my opinion, is better. I would highly recommend you try this particular physical therapy office.

Having two kids is life changing, but I love it so much! This review is for Andrea and Kuzu (Kuzu) no longer works there. I was able to see Modus through my (Kaiser) insurance at the time and I went only for fertility support during my rainbow journey. Since my pregnancy journey is over and I have two rainbow miracle babies, I am ready to share my short story. I have been pregnant 5X, lost 3, and gave birth to one rainbow girl in 2012 and one rainbow boy in 2019! With my last pregnancy, I was a nervous wreck and I didn't want to pay for IVF so I did my research. My neighbor suggested acupuncture as she struggled with m/c too and she had a successful pregnancy so I took her advice! Being an older mommy at 40, I was high risk and considered a geriatrics mom at Kaiser. I was lucky enough to be referred to an amazing RE, Dr. Rosenkratz @ Kaiser, and loved him so much!! I was so lucky to have seen him as it was perfect timing cause he left Kaiser and started his own practice a couple mothers after I got pregnant. As I mentioned, I was a nervous wreck! He really changed my world on top of Andrea and Kuzu. I really owe it to them as they were my wingman support team for my 2nd pregnancy. Prior to getting pregnant, Andrea suggested for me to try the "Whole 30 program" and I must have been super fertile cause I got pregnant at the end of the Whole 30 program. With RE, I had 5 polyps removed from my uterus, started to take supplements, and within 2 cycles I got pregnant and had a successful pregnancy. I stopped seeing Modus after my 2nd trimester. I was a nervous wreck the whole pregnancy but wanted to thank Andrea and Kuzu from the bottom of my heart for being my support team when I felt truly scared my whole entire pregnancy! I didn't feel at ease until I was able to carry my baby boy in my arms after he was born. I am truly blessed and my life is full of joy with a dream that came true! The medical care is adequate, even more then adequate…read more  The problems are with the front desk and the billing department.  I went in for care on 1/15/2025.  I was told it would cost $250 or so.  I paid the amount (plus a surcharge for using a credit card).  Later when Medicare and my insurance processed the claim they said I owed about half that amount. I called Billing and had to leave a message.  The recording said they would call back the next day.  I waited a few (week) days and...no call back.  So I called Billing again and left a message.  Same result, no call back.  So I called the main office (during business hours) and had to leave a message.  Same result as my messages to Billing, no call back.  So I called Billing again and again left a message including the notice that I will cancel my appointment the next week if this issue is not resolved.  That time they returned my call.  The issue was resolved to my satisfaction. At that appointment they took an x-ray of my feet.  I asked the tech if I could have a CD copy of my x-ray.  She did not say no, just sort of acquiesced .  I forgot to ask for the CD when I left. Next appointment on March 26 I asked for the CD and was told they don't have CDs of x-rays.  They said they could email the x-ray.  I confirmed my email address.  When the x-ray didn't arrive I called the office and left a message.  Again they never called me back. I also logged into the portal and attempted to send them a message.  When I clicked Compose I got a window that asks, ":What type of message do you want to compose?".  But there is nothing to select nor anyplace to enter any text.  So there is no way to message them. Normally I would give this information to "management" but there doesn't seem to be any way to do that with a non-functioning compose window.  So now I am resorting to yelp.

Finally, I just called Women's Group of Franklin and made an appointment with whoever they had available. Lucky for me, it was Dr. Montville. Dr. Montville is relatively new to the practice, so her schedule is easier to get on, but I imagine it will be filling up fast. She's great. She didn't give me grief about my historically laidback approach to preventative healthcare, she addressed my questions, and kept me informed on what I need to know. The exam was quick, but it didn't feel rushed. Dr. Montville is kind, actively listens to you, and brings a comforting personality to an awkward situation. And since I tend to joke a lot, it was very important and comforting to me that she joked back. I highly recommend Dr. Montville to anyone looking for an OB-GYN. She's awesome.
