My wife and I went for their Friday 'date night' special. Looking for something different and never having held firearms prior, Soni and his team treated us extremely well. Explained everything we needed to do (and not do) thoroughly and with intent. Once we stepped into the range, Soni was there to guide us through the machinations of what was just explained to ensure that we were proceeding cautiously and safely. The firing experience was excellent. So much trepidation before pulling the trigger for the first time. But my wife and I both eased in, respected the equipment and environment and followed Soni's recommendations as far as grip, stance, etc. We both shot a .22 and a 9mm and even got to walk away with our cardboard target as a memory. The bonus add-on was that if you partake in the package, they offer a 25% discount off your bill at Suds McGuires (right across the street). I started going to Select Fire the beginning of the year. I hadn't been to a range in a very long time and I was very impressed on how helpful, knowledgeable and friendly the staff is. The range safety officer and instructor, Ollie, helped me tremendously. I was very nervous and he spent a lot of time with me going over everything and giving me some pointers. Since I had just started shooting again I decided to take his 55+ handgun refresher class. It was very informative and I learned a great deal. My dad started taking me here years ago. I hadn't been to the range since before the pandemic, so I signed up for a ladies only basic handgun level 1 class as a refresher. It includes both classroom and range time. All equipment is provided. What an awesome time! Marsha, our instructor, is extremely knowledgeable and SO much fun! What an awesome environment she creates for her students to ask questions and learn in a SAFE, no pressure, no intimidation environment! It's a great class for women who have never even held a firearm, as well as those of us who just wanted a refresher. Either way, it's a great foundation to build upon as you continue on is shooting sports! I loved it so much, I signed up for the next two classes as well! My friend and I went to Select Fire this afternoon with Groupons in hand. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff who showed us a brief safety video and then proceeded to carefully, patiently walk us newbies through the basics of the gun we'd be using from how to hold it and load the ammo to how to fire. They were very safety-oriented and answered all of our (my) questions without any rush. No appointment was necessary. The firing range is small and well-looked after by an RSO (range safety officer). His name was Patrick and he was incredibly patient and a great educator. There were maybe 3-5 other people shooting in their own booths while we were there so it was very loud as guns tend to be. The RSO immediately recognized us young ladies as likely new to the hobby and practically gave us a private lesson on shooting. He went so far as to replace our gun when it jammed and made great conversation throughout. We had an absolute blast! We even met two hunks who let us fire their AR 9mm "pistol" which definitely looked like a machine gun (OK, I clearly know zip about guns). I was ready to go home after we ran out of ammo as I don't like loud environments, but at least we got glasses and ear muffs while we shot. I highly recommend this place especially if you're a beginner like me! read more

My wife and I took our C.C.W. classes here. A range instructor told me my Ruger LCP was "to tinny" and not acceptable. When I asked for a refund for the course he reconsidered and walked away. Later on the range he got angry that I opened my gun case to quickly and began to yell and grandstand. "Have you ever fired a gun before?" . He went on to tell another participant that revolvers were not acceptable. Not for me! read more

The range officer on 6/8/21 for the second time in months the same guy ignored me after I waited patiently for a half an hour to ask him questions. He stayed with the the mom and son family for 30 minutes. A nice man in the next lane was nice enough to answer safety questions. It almost seemed as if the safety officer was purposely ignoring me. I give four stars because I have not shot here yet. I stopped by after working with my buddy one day, his shop is near here. I have been going to Stonewall, way out of the way, now I will shoot a lot more often. Prices are compatible, actually cheaper and even given the current ammo shortage due to the government "buying" all of it, they sold me three boxes of 9 ammo, no problem. Fir, Feather and Beyond and Stonewall will only sell one at a time. Hopefully they continue to keep this sale open and not restricted to one box. Either way, it's closer, which is good because gas isn't cheap these days. It is a small little place, seems pretty clean cut, friendly staff. I'm not gonna lie, they don't have nearly as much product to sell as stonewall, but if you read my review on Stonewall you'll see what I think of them. My second-favorite range in the area. The SFTC staff is personable and knowledgeable, and the facility is clean. After watching a safety video (which was mandatory for first-time visitors), I went into the range area. The range is well lit and the firing line is kept cool with nice airflow. I've only shot pistol here since I refuse to pay their price for frangible ammo. The other range I go to in my area (my preferred range) allows shooters to bring in their own rifle ammo and inspects it to ensure it complies with range rules (no AP, penetrator core, etc.). SFTC is located off of a main road, so it's easy to find and get to. The downside is that it's located off of a main road so it's easy to find (which means it can get busy at times). They offer Groupon discount deals which helps the customer save a little money (and the business by keeping customers coming). SFTC is a good place with very reasonable prices for range time. I just wish they would allow for customers to bring in their own rifle ammo. Surely this range is modern enough to handle cheap 55gr ball 5.56. read more

Friendly staff with a good weapon selection. Downfall you can't bring your own .223 & 556 ammo, and it's $12 a box to buy there's. Store and range are clean and feel safe on the range. Wide lanes and 30 yards deep is good for all weapon selections. The weapon selection is smaller than Point Blank but the staff is nicer than most gun stores. I'll definitely be back! read more

I went in to shoot, and they lost my driver's license, and claims that somehow I must have lost it. a few hours later they call me back and tell me they have found my driver's license. I asked if they would mail it to me and they said they would. I've been waiting 2 weeks they say it's been mailed I think they're lying to me. it's not brain surgery, there either grossly incompetent and dishonest or someone has a drug problem. now I have to get a duplicate driver's license. They sell guns accessories and ammo and are knowledgeable about prouducts they alway have groupon specials or if you want to just walk in they rent guns . I took the all-day concealed carry class at Select Fire a few months ago. I would have given this more stars, because most of the class was highly relevant and useful. We got a decent amount of range time as part of the class and the primary instructor was very knowledgable. However, one thing REALLY bothered me. They gave up two hours (in an eight hour class) for some guy to come in and try to get everyone to sign up for an MLM scheme where you pay a ridiculous amount of money to have a lawyer on retainer (but not really). It was under the guise of "talking about the legal aspects" but it was clearly just a two-hour ad. The class included a really awesome cop who talked about legal aspects. This other guy was obviously just there to make money off of us and it felt really sleazy. We could have spent those two hours shooting. I hope Select Fire reads this and reconsiders letting people turn their CCW classes into a walking infomercial for someone's money-making scheme. read more

This will be my go to gun range going forward. It was really crowded mid day on a Saturday. From the minute we walked in the attendant at the counter got us going with our paperwork, then was moving people in and out efficiently. We waited 30 minutes but it was worth it once we got in. Got a rental gun to try out and it worked great. The range officer got us going with helping to set up our targets and quickly got us going in our lane. Everyone treated us well and professionally. I can go to a much closer range 5 minutes from my house but I prefer this place even if it's a 20 minute drive. Check this place out, I hope they expand. read more

I like this range a lot. The guys that work the counter are polite and cool. They take what they are doing seriously but still casually joke and have fun. I have been to a few places where everybody has a a stick up their ass *cough *cough stonewall *cough The range itself is clean and the gentlemen that works on the range is a nice guy. Really alert. Some guy was there being a moron the first time I was here and he called a cease fire right away. The dude is on it. Not fucking around. Which is good. So I have been here 3 times or so and I will keep coming back. I prefer to shoot outside but when there is snow on the ground I don't feel like loading clips outside. Fuck all that mess. I really like this place. People are friendly and very helpful. My girlfriend was a first timer and was very nervous about messing up the range rules. They start all first timers with a video, pay attention to the video and there shouldn't be an issue. I will give YELP 3 stars. Excellent range. Staff is very friendly and personable. Range time prices are competitive, and they are one of the very few blue label glock dealers in the area. I've been here multiple times and never had a bad experience. Best time to go is during the week (you'll be waiting on the weekends). Overall, it is always a pleasant experience to shoot here and I would recommend it to anyone. Another thing about the staff... I can't say enough about them. Extremely professional and the way they interact with customers is outstanding. I would pay double just for the way they treat customers compared to other ranges in the area. Last thing you need in an environment with firearms is for the staff to treat you poorly, and they do an excellent job of creating a relaxed atmosphere while still keeping it safe. read more

My wife and I visited Select Fire for some range time on a Friday morning in December. My first impression: The building is very clean and well maintained inside and out. The staff takes safety very seriously but not in a rude or condescending way. After watching a short video about range rules and safety and signing a waiver, we were quickly into the shooting range. The range was well heated; other ranges in the area have trouble keeping their ranges warm in the winter. So dress in layers to ensure you are comfortable when shooting. The range was monitored by a range officer during our entire hour. Occasionally the range officer would come by and sweep up the empty casings, even though we also did it at least three times during our hour. The stalls were averaged sized and comfortable. The targets were electronically controlled. You can shoot from 10 to 25 feet which is good for handgun practice. Plenty of targets, cardboard, etc were available for purchase at the counter. During our visit, no more than 4 stalls were occupied at once. They placed shooters in every other stall to give plenty of room. There was also a counter behind the stalls for extra space; convenient for reloading when sharing a stall with a partner. While we didn't attend any classes during our visit, I noticed a class room, break room and restrooms. All were clean and comfortable looking. It looks like a good environment for learning firearm safety. It also looks like a good place to meet up with a group. Lastly, their website provides plenty of info about rules, prices and hours. I recommend checking it before visiting. I found our new range. 5 stars. Highly recommended. read more

Particularly upset with this range. A buddy and I snagged a groupon for range rental for 2 and planned on heading down there. He had never been there before, so he checked the hours on the website. He also looked on Facebook for pictures of the range because he was curious how it was set up. We make the 45-minute drive to the range and find a piece of paper on the door that they are closed for a few days until Friday. Really? That was the best way you could inform people? Not by modifying the hours on your website? Or posting it on Facebook? Or literally anything? I called and someone answered. They were making updates to the facility. Fine. JUST POST SOMETHING SOMEWHERE. The guy who answered was adamant that he had been posting about it for a month. They didn't. I checked. They did post about a delayed opening once for May 8th, so that's nice I guess... The groupon expired and we lost out on range time. No good. read more

The range itself is real nice and the staff are cool too. I've shot here once before and like it, range guys are on top of it and real knowledgeable. One downside. When I was in line, a woman who I assume was the boss, was talking to the guy working at the counter while he was helping ring people out. I heard her talking to him about money and she said something about him not getting paid for something. I was actually kinda taken back because she was dropping that bomb on him in front of a group of people. He said something about this job was his livelihood and she snapped back in front of everyone, it's only $25! That was probably the most unprofessional thing I have seen in a while. Going into the shooting range, it can seem very intimidating (especially for someone like me who knows absolutely nothing about this)- but the staff wasn't even phased by the lack of knowledge we had going into our session. We had gotten there right at 5 pm on a Friday night for the date night which was the perfect time because there was hardly any wait time. Within minutes of getting there, we had gone through the safety instructions and paper work so fast that we were in and learning how to shoot instantly. The supervisor that was in the actual shooting range was SO helpful and really made our time even better. Can't wait to go back. Great staff. I've taken several friends, guys and girls, and they all feel safe and comfortable to shoot. I've never waited longer than 15 for a spot to shoot. Excellent range! Brand new inside. The staff is friendly and very helpful. There is always a range safety officer who is actually paying attention and willing to help. I have been going there since they opened early last year. I haven't had a single problem. Its funny that he says the owner is a male because the range is owned by a woman. Not sure if he has the wrong place. No other range in the area has a Range Safety Officer on duty that I am aware of either. They are also a Class 3 dealer. I agree with Joseph.... Mike S. who??? Super clean, friendly, and no waiting longer than about 30mins (during the busiest, peak hours). Cant say thats the case for other places. Heard some complain about the prices... Really? If anything it is $1 or $2 more than most places (without a membership, which is a sweet deal also, must check out) AND when I know that extra is going towards a RANGE OFFICER, I consider it money well spent. I know that I wont get flagged or clipped by an errant round whilst visiting this upstanding establishment. Range officers are also a wealth of knowledge and assistance - they've been there, done that, and went around the block! Very cool (only in the summers, temp-wise!) and safe place to shoot.
