I called Thompson for a tow and they sent a lovely gentleman named Gregg to rescue it. He showed up in an impeccably kept Thompson labeled flatbed truck and greeted me at my door. The communication from start to finish was excellent, and the service was incredibly efficient - Gregg called and texted me to let me know his ETA. He arrived right when he said he was going to and quickly got the car running. He did note some error lights inside the car so he decided to tow it back to Thompson anyway to make sure that any fault codes were cleared and resolved before I took the car back out. He and I exchanged some chat and banter and off he went. Unfortunately, I was not able to buy this X5 from Thompson because of availability at the time of my desired purchase, but, with every experience I've had with them since then, I will never buy another BMW at any other dealer besides Thompson. That includes having my vehicles serviced by them as well. They always have organized, polite, and efficient service advisors. And I have not yet felt any pressure to buy anything from Thompson that was not warranted. Always a wonderful experience and yesterday was just another testament to how wonderfully efficient and professionally the business runs. I'm an insurance agency owner and, as a small business, I strive to provide the levels of service that Thompson provides their customers. Well done again! Here, it felt like the attitude was "take it or leave it," and that's fine, but it's not the kind of place I'd want to spend real money. They may have interesting inventory, and I'm sure some people like that style. I didn't. If you go, be direct about what you want to see and what answers you need, and pay attention to how you're treated when you ask basic questions. I have experienced repeated breakdowns, multiple tows, and the inconvenience of securing rental vehicles -- all for a brand-new vehicle that should not have been having these problems. Each time I brought it in, I was told they didn't know why the check engine light kept coming on and was advised to ignore it. The underlying issue was never properly diagnosed or repaired. After reaching my breaking point, I went to another Jeep dealership. The difference was night and day. They were professional, knowledgeable, and quickly identified and fixed the problem. I informed Christian that I am not local and would like to purchase the vehicle online and have the vehicle delivered to me. He informed me that online purchase was not possible and they are not able to deliver vehicles. He then proceeded to tell me that if I wanted the vehicle delivered I would have to outsource a third party transporter to have the vehicle delivered. I then asked if they were able to do dealer trades and have the vehicle delivered to a Toyota near me and then I stopped hearing back from Christian. My husband works for Toyota at a different dealership and new they were able to have the vehicle delivered so my husband called the Director of Sales, Marisa. Marisa also told my husband that I could not purchase the vehicle online because "they wouldn't make a profit" and then proceeded to laugh at him when he told her the vehicle could in fact be delivered. My husband then asked to speak to the Service Manager, I think his name was Steve, who informed my husband that the vehicle could be delivered and the dealership has two transporters that they use to deliver vehicles. So at this point we are not purchasing any vehicles from this dealership because no one wanted to actually do their job for customers and were only worried about making a profit. Worst experience and we would not recommend to anyone!
