This is a privately owned, full service auto/diesel repair shop that is the best in terms of its promptness, professionalism, and honesty. It's so cliché, isn't it? Finding an honest mechanic? Gone are the days when you could pop your own hood and figure it out on your own. Cars are so complex now with computerization and sensors that without that knowledge, only the well-trained mechanic can diagnose and treat the many problems that could plague a car. Powerline has been a real blessing in this weird post-pandemic bad new normal of endless demand for service, worker shortage, parts in back order, and incompetency as the rule rather than the exception. Powerline has been completely fair in its pricing and transparent in its diagnostics. They are realistic about their time frames needed to fix the problem and yet still by the grace of God manage to service the problem in a timely fashion. We were beset with issues on our Dodge Ram 2500 bought brand new in 2020, and Powerline was able to assist us in fixing various odd issues without us having to wait for WEEKS just for an appointment to DIAGNOSE at the dealer, only to have to wait for more WEEKS to fix. When you pull up to this garage you will see huge fleet of trucks they are working on. Obviously they don't need this review, they don't care because they are busy busy!! But they are worth a shout out because these kinds of places seem to be far and few between now that big box places are trying to take over small businesses. The owner is very hands-on at the shop, they call you back when they say they will, and they are professional and transparent. What more can you ask for? They are easy to find in Rathdrum. I brought in my Lexus and although it's not a diesel, they were able to help me diagnose a non-issue for my peace of mind at no charge. Thank you Powerline and the team!!

But much to our surprise he said he would get it in that day and look at it. He called us a little later on and told us the problem and said it would be ready the next day. What epic service. Instead of taking my observation and maybe doing something about it (if it's valid) and the next time I came in, if things changed I would of updated my review to reflect that...like I have done on other reviews. Instead the owner, after years of having nasty seats, was planning to get them changed out before my review (like he states)....sure..In his semi canned response to my review he says "thanks for bringing it to our attention" & "we appreciate the feedback" obviously that isn't true. Anyway I looks like they did change the seats, but based on him getting his panties in a bunch because I gave constructive criticism and 3 star review .... This definitely is a place I wouldn't recommend and am changing my rating if this place.... I have had much better experiences at other similar places locally, one being the Perfection Tire in CDA, which have great staff and much nicer waiting room. FYI.... The mouth breather (not so bright one) still works the desk (he wasn't the guy helping me, the guy helping me was a nice guy from what I experienced), so I guess the owner got one thing right, by at least changing some seats out. Took wife's 2011 Tahoe in for Check engine light and Stabilitrack and Traction control lights on…read morethe dash. OBD reader at home indicated cylinder 1 misfire with rough engine idling and lower power. I figured I'd give them a shot since it's right down the street from my house. After $130 diagnostic charge, I was told the vehicle had a lifter problem with possibly damaged camshaft and needed significant engine repairs up to complete replacement with an estimated $8000+ cost for the job. Thank God I didn't have the money laying around and got a second opinion. I'm not even sure they did anything for the diagnostic charge of $130 because a second opinion at True North Automotive in post falls discovered a fouled plug. After several other regular maintenance fixes it saved me over $7000 to fix the wife's vehicle. Would not recommend this shop to anyone. Always get a second opinion.
