AMAZING!! If I could give 10 stars I would! Todd from Appleway Automotive is awesome and honest!!…read more First of all, we were visiting from California and our AC broke the day we got here. We were going to be here a month and it was hot so we needed it repaired. A perfect scenario for a mechanic to rip us off and believe me, they tried. We took our car to Silverlake Automotive on Sherman to start. We just asked them to check the AC. They of course came back with "looking over" the whole car and giving us their recommended fixes, including our AC. It was $7800 worth of "repairs" and $3200 of that was for the AC clutch, flush, etc. but they made the mistake by telling us that they looked at our carfax to see what repairs and services we had done to determine their recommendations. Mind you our truck is a 2015 that we bought brand new and it only has 48k miles so not sure how they came up with some of their recommendations. One of the recommendations we literally got done before we left on our road trip to Idaho so I knew it was BS. They also told me they needed to do the flush and extra stuff for them to "guarantee" their work so basically you are paying extra for their guarantee. I felt ripped off. We had to pay them $200 for the analysis though, but I knew we only needed the AC clutch and compressor repaired and also researched that they can tell if your lines are contaminated to where they would know if they needed to flush the lines. With that being said I submitted that analysis and quote here on yelp and it was sent to a few mechanics in the area. They all came back with less quotes but still expensive. Like $2k-$2200 and I had researched it really should not cost more than $1800 on the high end. I called Appleway Automotive based on other reviews and they said he was honest to a fault so I called them and talked to Todd. I told him I needed the AC clutch and compressor done and asked if he could give me a quote over the phone. He had no problem doing that and ge also confirmed he would be able to tell if the lines would need to be flushed. He quoted me $1200. He was no BS. He made an appt for me a day and half later and said he needed my car for a day and got it done same day and didn't even call me to tell me I needed to flush the lines. When we dropped it off, he didn't try to do the small talk "I'm going to rip you off" nice talk they all do. I cannot say enough about his service and would highly recommend. I even sent my in-laws to him the next week as they were visiting and had some repairs that needed to be done but had the same issues we had with mechanics trying to require more than really needed to be done! Todd mentioned that he can't compete with all of these other companies advertising and reviews mean the world to him so this is me helping him out for helping us save $2k. Thank you Todd!!

They recommended a less expensive service to fix an electrical issue with my car, and it completely resolved the problem. They have earned a customer for life.

Awesome shop! Cris did a great job!…read more ............................................................................................................................

Well, it looks like I am the first person to write a truly glowing essay about this car mechanic. I…read moretried to write a Google review but it wasn't able to allow me. This is a privately owned, full service auto/diesel repair shop that is the best in terms of its promptness, professionalism, and honesty. It's so cliché, isn't it? Finding an honest mechanic? Gone are the days when you could pop your own hood and figure it out on your own. Cars are so complex now with computerization and sensors that without that knowledge, only the well-trained mechanic can diagnose and treat the many problems that could plague a car. Powerline has been a real blessing in this weird post-pandemic bad new normal of endless demand for service, worker shortage, parts in back order, and incompetency as the rule rather than the exception. Powerline has been completely fair in its pricing and transparent in its diagnostics. They are realistic about their time frames needed to fix the problem and yet still by the grace of God manage to service the problem in a timely fashion. We were beset with issues on our Dodge Ram 2500 bought brand new in 2020, and Powerline was able to assist us in fixing various odd issues without us having to wait for WEEKS just for an appointment to DIAGNOSE at the dealer, only to have to wait for more WEEKS to fix. When you pull up to this garage you will see huge fleet of trucks they are working on. Obviously they don't need this review, they don't care because they are busy busy!! But they are worth a shout out because these kinds of places seem to be far and few between now that big box places are trying to take over small businesses. The owner is very hands-on at the shop, they call you back when they say they will, and they are professional and transparent. What more can you ask for? They are easy to find in Rathdrum. I brought in my Lexus and although it's not a diesel, they were able to help me diagnose a non-issue for my peace of mind at no charge. Thank you Powerline and the team!!
