Damaged roof mechanism and liner

BUYER BEWARE; review the BBB. Lesson learned: never buy a car without having an independent mechanic inspect it. I purchased naively and with trust, Selden Motors (Sc*** specifically) sold without integrity. I bought a 2013 BMW 135i convertible remotely from CA in August 2024 and since then I have tried politely but relentlessly to resolve Selden's misrepresentations. During pre-purchase negotiations, I specifically asked if the roof had any mechanical or cosmetic issues. I was told "no" and was further assured that Selden's mechanics had inspected the vehicle and found it to be in good condition. Upon delivery, the car had $7,000 worth of mechanical and cosmetic issues. This included nearly $3,000 in repairs for the convertible roof, which was visibly damaged and did not function correctly. These defects were obvious and either known to the dealership or should have been identified during the mentioned inspection. Despite my repeated attempts to resolve these misrepresentations politely, Selden Motors denied responsibility, citing an "as-is" contract. They offered only a $400 "courtesy gesture," which I turned down as a paltry attempt to dismiss the situation. Furthermore, my inquiries are now being ignored, and the owner, salesman, and finance manager have blocked my contact information. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of integrity shown during this transaction. Again, buyer beware!

It's a money pit!

I bought a 2005 Prius from 4 Below Auto Sales in Willow Groove, PA. After I purchased the vehicle I…read moretook it to a Toyota Dealer and had them do a thorough evaluation. As a result I would not recommend purchasing from 4 Below Auto Sales to anyone for the following reasons: 1) The vehicle was not suppose to have been in an accident. It turned out that it had been struck in the front and among several other things the radiator was cracked and leaking. 2) The rear brakes were frozen open and the front brakes while working needed to be replaced along with the rotors. It appears that the vehicle had been sitting for a long time on moist unpaved ground. The sway bars front and back are deeply corroded and must be replaced. 3) The heater was not working and as result in in a cold rain driving to the Toyota Dealer the windows kept fogging up and I had to pull off the road several times to wipe them off. 4) The muffler is being replaced because it is all taped together, corroded and carbon monoxide could leak into the cab 5) The electric door looks will not take a command from either of the keys provided so the car cannot be locked at this time. I purchased this car on an As Is Basis so I foolishly must except all responsibility yet I believe I should have been told the vehicle had been in an accident and from a safety stand point I should have been warned about the condition of the brakes. I am sending you this note to you because I believe people should be alerted to the practices of 4 Below Auto Sales in Willow Groove, Pa. I paid $5000.00 for this automobile and currently I am investing a little over $2000.00 to make it safe and runnable. The vehicle should not have sold for more than $3700.00 and the buyer warned of its safety issues. At $3700 the cost for a 2005 Prius with repairs would still be close to $6000.00. An individual who did not have it expertly evaluated would have been at great risk and if they could not afford to make the critical repairs would be stuck with an unsafe vehicle.

Bought a car that was advertised (and priced) as in "Excellent Condition". However, what they…read morefailed to mention is the holes and cracks in the frame from a surmountable amount of rust, a missing AC belt, multiple fluid leaks (including a steadily dripping fuel tank), and rear suspension damage. Did not respond well when questioned about the validity of the new PA inspection due to the immense amount of rust to the frame, also claiming that it was not his responsibility as the dealer to make sure the car is in good condition before advertising and selling it as "excellent condition". If you choose to buy from him, definitely insist on bringing it to your OWN mechanic. Good luck...

I had been researching and deciding what to buy for weeks. After a bad experience at another…read moredealership we decided to give Mazda a try. After I parked, Kelly met me at the door. She held the door for me- asked if I had an appointment with someone specific and since I didn't I had the pleasure of working with her. I explained what I was looking for, and Kelly brought a car right up- a beautiful red CX5 with low mileage. I test drove it alone- and it was really just a wonderful car. Not a single imperfection! I get back and FaceTime my husband who had to work and we decided we wanted this car. When I went back in to discuss price, Kelly herself offered that the price on the sticker wasn't the real price and gave me a fair price. I punched the specs into KBB and this car was offered to me 2K UNDER KBB valuation. We started on paperwork. I needed to transfer tags- get the money together etc. Kelly helped me come up with a list of to dos, and realizing it would be better for me to go home and do them (making phone calls with a face mask on can be annoying and I wanted to respect Kelly and the whole team), I put a down payment down and left. Kelly has been so helpful through the whole process. She was also just extremely friendly and honest. I felt like I had an old friend helping me make a big decision. I noticed on her desk that the sales team at Sussman Mazda don't get paid by commission only- and that they are paid more on customer satisfaction and volume- not a percentage of the sales price- helping to guarantee you're getting the best price. This was my genuine experience! I couldn't recommend this place enough. Especially Kelly. It was so refreshing to be able to make a huge purchase without feeling like I was being ripped off. They also took so many precautions for covid safety- steering wheel cover- test driving solo, disinfecting the high touch areas of the car before I left, no one sharing, masks, distancing. I felt safe- and I definitely loved this experience!

The recent reviews from the last year are negative and I won't discourage anyone from taking it…read moreinto consideration. But having purchased from that dealer in 2026 I hope a recent review can help steer them in the right direction. The good; Customer service was good. There's been much worse, I can speak on the salesman personally, Jalen, who went out of his way to sell me a vehicle.Teaching me briefly on manual driving , being able to deliver my car and give me a reasonable discount. The bad; The car I brought didn't seem to have too much care and they just wanted it off the lot. Power steering fluid was low, and the inside smelled very used. Not even an air freshener. I still took the car because I work on them and don't mind some extra work but for the average car buyer I can see this being a turn off. The ugly; While I mentioned they provided a discount, they added in a $300 charge for some safety/security feature that you can't opt out of. They claim is reduces your insurance but in my experience it has only saved me mere cents. Being it's also a manual I don't expect this car to be stolen anytime soon. Overall, I'd recommend this dealer if you're buying cash and know what exactly you're looking for. Based off my experience I'd recommend more care to the vehicle being sold to me, it's a bad look for them if the vehicle I'm test driving can't even steer properly and smells like someone's rear end.

Willow Grove Automotive - Start-up problems, low acceleration, rough idling and engine stalling are signs your vehicle needs a tune up - Car maintenance.

I'll start this review by saying that in my opinion Willow Grove Auto is THE BEST automotive…read morerepair/maintenance location in this area by FAR! For years my boyfriend, mom and I had been taking our cars to places like Pep Boys. Where the service was average, the cost was pretty steep, and well, it's overall just very impersonal. Half the time I felt like there would be a major problem WITH my car AFTER taking it to them for something routine. Luckily, about 8 years ago we found Willow Grove Auto. And I can never imagine taking our vehicles to anyone else now. First off, its a family run business located right by the Willow Grove Mall. The owner Bernie is a great guy who clearly prides himself on giving customers excellent care, fantastic customer service, and the best price he can give you. In fact, there are always deals or specials, like coupons for inspection, etc. The mechanics there are AMAZING. They are VERY experienced and are great at both older cars (like mine which is a 99 Plymouth Voyager) or newer vehicles. So many times I have described a problem over the phone or when dropping off the car and before they even look at it, they have a good idea of what the problem may be, and what I can expect to pay. They are also excellent at figuring out more complicated issues. I've run into some pretty odd issues with my van after a car accident and they do everything to take care of the problem at a very reasonable price. There's been many times when we have needed help in an emergency. For example, we got a flat tire while leaving for a vacation. We dropped by and they were able to fix it within a half hour so we could get on our way. Growing up I always heard things like "you can't trust mechanics". Or since I am a girl "Make sure you bring a man with you when taking your car in". LOL These statements are just RIDICULOUS when it comes to Willow Grove Auto and do not even SLIGHTLY apply. They do EVERYTHING they can to give you a fair price, an honest evaluation. I can't tell you how many times they have talked to me and explained EXACTLY what they were going to do so I wasn't in the dark. They are always upfront and honest. If they recommend something, it means you need it. These guys aren't gonna go and sell you new tires just to make money if you don't need them. But they WILL do everything they can to keep your vehicle up and running smoothly and safely. And finally, they make the experience simple and pleasant. Everyone is friendly. They take the time to get to know their customers and familiarize themselves with your needs. I'm often surprised by how much they remember without even looking up the details in the system! They also know money is tight for me, so they ALWAYS call with an estimate before doing anything major to the vehicle. I could go on and on about how great they are but rather than do that, I urge you to take your vehicle to them just once. Because I have a feeling that after one visit, you will never want to go anywhere else again. Thank you to everyone there for being so great!

Dealership said they sent it into my "spam folder" which they never did. According to dealership management, there is no tracking number or any other identifying information confirming it was sent. Our advice is not to waste your time on the test drive. If they reneg on this, what else are they being dishonest about? We will be purchasing a Subaru from another dealership! Elliot D Additionally, we were impressed that Jeff responded so very quickly about the "gift card issue". We are still awaiting updated numbers/ values on our trade. Nice to know management tries to fix issues! Elliot D. As discussed, Glazmann dealership was clean and well lit. The Visa Gift Card problem was very quickly resolved to our satisfaction. Apparently the wrong email address created an error. The manager, Lauren was exceptionally nice, accurate and helped to resolve our issues and problems. Jeff, the Owner Manager, emailed us in a very timely manner to resolve our complaints. We are extremely satisfied with the outcome at Glazmann dealership. Future buyers should try to seek out management to resolve communication misunderstandings. Elliot D.

I had a really disappointing experience at Glanzmann Subaru and would strongly caution others…read morebefore going there for inspection or service. They failed my PA inspection on a 2023 Subaru Forester with only 27,000 miles -- not for anything remotely serious, but for extremely minor issues that felt more like an excuse to upsell than legitimate safety concerns. First, they failed the car over a tiny nick on a windshield wiper blade that was still fully functional, and then quoted $55 to replace it. They also claimed my tires needed to be replaced immediately and quoted $445 for mounting and balancing two tires -- all based on a very small cosmetic mark on the tread. The tires still have measurable tread (around 4/32") and no structural damage or exposed cords. I've attached photos of the exact tire they failed so others can judge for themselves -- there is a small mark, but nothing that reasonably justifies failing a state inspection. When I questioned it, they pointed to "state requirements," which is misleading at best. PA inspection rules are clear about what actually constitutes a failure, and this didn't meet that threshold. The overall impression I got was that they are actively looking for the smallest possible issue to fail your inspection so they can sell you overpriced repairs on the spot. I understand safety matters -- but this felt like a business model, not a safety standard. I will not be returning, and I'd recommend others consider a more honest, independent shop for inspections. Response to Owner: I'm going to respond directly because your reply misrepresents both the situation and Pennsylvania inspection standards. At no point did I make "threats." I stated that I would share my experience publicly -- which is exactly what I am doing now. That's not a threat, that's transparency. More importantly, your claim that these were "clear failures under PA inspection guidelines" is simply not accurate. Under PA inspection regulations (67 Pa. Code §175), a tire fails if: Tread depth is below 2/32", Tread wear indicators are flush with the tread in two adjacent grooves, or Ply/cord is exposed or there is structural damage. None of those conditions were present. The tire in question has approximately 4/32" of tread remaining, with no exposed cords or structural damage. The small cosmetic mark your team identified as "secondary rubber" is not listed anywhere in PA inspection code as a failure condition. Similarly, a fully functional wiper blade with a minor nick does not constitute a clear failure unless it cannot properly clear the windshield. Mine was operational. Saying these were "clear failures" under state law is misleading. At best, your team applied an overly conservative internal standard -- which is your choice -- but that is very different from a legal requirement. What is more concerning is that you, as the owner, are publicly standing by these decisions. That suggests this is not an isolated judgment call by a technician, but a broader, systemic approach at Glanzmann Subaru to interpret inspection standards in a way that benefits the service department. When minor or borderline items are failed and immediately paired with high-cost replacements ($55 for wipers, $445 for two tires), it creates the appearance of an upsell-driven inspection process rather than an objective one. I fully understand that licensed inspectors must follow the law. My issue is that the law is being incorrectly cited to justify decisions that go beyond what is actually required. I stand by my original review, and I've provided photos so others can judge for themselves.
