Had lunch there today with a friend in fact, and the food was spot on as well as trying a new Rose and Pinot Grigio. Easy parking, great location. Highly recommend.

It was still fun, but improvements are needed to make this the great event it has the potential to be. There are so many things right about this event. It's in a unique and fun location (Tustin Hangar where they used to house blimps). There are dozens and dozens of vendors and room for even more. On paper, it sounds pretty perfect. In reality, the event space was incredibly dark and a significant portion of the lights were out for part of the night (music disappeared too, so probably a power issue). Mood lighting is great, but you shouldn't have to get your face right up to the bottles of wine or plates of food to figure out what is being offered. Some areas had better lighting than others, but they really need to get lighting everywhere. Tea light candles don't cut it. The other major issue was that so many vendors packed up and left before the first or second hour. So if you passed something earlier thinking you'd go back and try it later, too bad! Props to Fresh Brothers and Piadina for having food up until the end of the event. With an event this large, it's just not possible to do it all within an hour (at least not if you want to enjoy it), so it's terrible that some restaurants were gone before an hour had passed. If you are thinking of purchasing a ticket, let this serve as a warning so you will be prepared and not disappointed as I was. It's still a good event, but it has so much more potential.

It is my understanding that they used to house blimps inside of this building. Such a unique and interesting venue! I was very surprised with how organized this food festival actually was. I've been to a few food walks/festivals and they've always been so cluttered. They did an amazing job with organization. As soon as you enter they had several workers handing out wine glasses with the cutest Tustin Food and Wine logo on it. This would be your glass for most, if not all, of the tastings. Each vendor provided water for you to rinse out your glass with before a new taste. Most of the food was to the right side of the room and the alcohol to the left side of the room. Although it is titled a food and wine festival, they had such a wide variety of food and alcohol. They were serving everything from wine and beer to sake bombs and shots of bourbon. As for food vendors they had plenty of options. They were serving poke, clam chowder, indian food, and so much more. Expect to be full 15 minutes in. The only critique I truly have for this event is the lighting. I think they were going for a darker ambiance but it was very difficult to read the vendors signs or even see what they were serving. It was so hard to take any photos or videos. All in all, it was a great event. I could definitely see myself coming back next year. If you get a chance to go, come with an empty stomach and comfortable shoes.

We were lucky enough to be served by Spencer, who completely elevated the entire experience. When I say knowledgeable, I mean next level, not just about the menu, but about beer, mead, cider, wine, stouts... everything. He took us on this deep dive into the history of mead and alcohol that turned what could've been a simple night out into something way more meaningful. It honestly felt like a full sensory experience. We didn't go there just to drink, Spencer reminded us that it's about appreciating the flavors, the craft, and the story behind each pour. And while I'll admit... I definitely got a little tipsy ... it was one of those perfect nights where everything just clicks -- great conversation, amazing company, and outstanding service. They were having a movie night trivia when we were there; however we were too distracted by the Nintendo switch games to participate. It's bar style here - you order drinks, pick your corner or join the bar, and play board games or video games or just chill. They don't serve food, but there is a snack corner, including a selection of ramen noodles. The drinks are brewed in house, so they're on tap and are poured per order. The staffs are very friendly and efficient. Now the highlight, I absolutely love the drinks. I have a little kids tastebuds when it comes to alcohol, so I loved all the sweet options. Of the one we tried this time, my favorite were the Post Watermalone and the T.L.C. They taste like juice, which is what I prefer. They have a wide selection that offer different tastes for everyone. Besides the fresh on tap drinks, they also have the 16-oz can for take home. Personally, I love their drinks and would definitely come back occasionally, since it's a bit of a drive for me. I know a few things about wine, but Bob, the co-founder who led our tasting, revealed interesting new tidbits about pairings, how rosés are made, and what makes Vinos Unidos wines stand out within the industry and above others... Left such the impression that my husband and I signed up to their wine club, and carried home three bottles that day. We're eagerly awaiting our quarterly shipment, but this evening we couldn't resist opening their 2019 award winner (pictured here), and are thoroughly enjoying it paired with some ripe strawberries topped with that decadent Bonjour chocolate kefir found at local SoCal farmers' markets. Feel like I found my own little gem in Vinos Unidos, which IMHO, will soon experience exponential growth! I recently had the pleasure of attending the 2nd annual OC Brew Haha Sabroso Craft Beer & Taco…read moreFestival at Irvine Lake. The OC Brew Haha festivals are the ones I look forward too every year. They really are the best ones to go too. This festival was put together and spaced perfectly. The beer tents and taco vendors were all around the outside area forming a circle and the luchador wrestling ring was in the middle area near the mini golf and giant jenga. The stage with the band was towards the back area. The brewery list is always outstanding and they list which breweries are attending well in advance. This year there were a lot more tacos to choose from. The taco competition was fierce. Iron Press brought their delicious waffle tacos again. All tacos are $3 each. I buy the early bird tickets for $43 when they go on sale so the price is well worth it. This is an unlimited pour festival which lasts 4 hours. The beer pours are in a nice commorative glass so you get about 2-3 ounce pours. There are so many breweries there that I never have a chance to try them all. They provide free water and have discounted tickets for designated drivers. I usually just Uber there and back. The setting is very scenic and park like with beautiful views of Irvine Lake. There are outhouses and bathroom buildings as well. This festival and the one they throw in December are my two favorite festivals each year.
