I spent over $10,700 on a combination of motorized and manual window shades for my home. While the shades themselves are generally acceptable, the customer service and overall project execution were below expectations for a project of this cost. After the initial down payment was made, communication became inconsistent. I did not receive proactive updates for approximately two to four weeks and had to reach out myself to inquire about the order status. When I did, I was told that "it hasn't been that long," despite the lack of communication. Given the significant financial investment, I expected more timely and professional updates. The installation was completed over a month ago, but the job remains unfinished. The manual shades were installed without the required lift handles, which have still not been provided. Additionally, wall damage occurred during installation due to ladders being used without protective coverings. These issues have not yet been repaired. After installation, I noticed that several shades were not properly centered, most noticeably in the kitchen. When this was raised, I was told by the installer's assistant that the primary installer had already left and that I should "see if I could live with it," with the possibility of correcting it at a later date. This response did not reflect a commitment to quality workmanship. There were also concerns regarding professionalism during the installation process, including disorganization and a lack of basic courtesy while working inside my home. During our interactions, I was informed that the business had been established by the owner's father and later passed on to him and his brother. Based on my experience, the level of service and follow-through I received does not appear consistent with what one would expect from a company built on a reputation for quality. Trevor will test your patience. Four months later and the project is still not completed. Initially he was quick to respond but rapidly downhill from there. He responded on a Sunday to an initial shade info search and scheduled to come see me on the following Monday. He's a nice guy, seemed capable. On Friday we agreed on the shades and price. His price was very good, only one was lower, s.....com. I gave him a 75% deposit for the materials because I understand he's a small business and a family man. Trevor told me the anticipated arrival time for the product would be 2 1/2 - 3 weeks then he would schedule the installation. 17 days later I followed up with him about timing. Two days later he said another 9 days for the delivery. A week later I asked him if he could schedule the install. We scheduled the install in 9 more days. I followed up with him the day before install day, and he shows me the product won't be delivered to him for another 5 days. Notice it's me having to follow up with him, Trevor's communication skills are poor at best. A full six weeks after the order was made installation day arrived. Kyle, his brother, came to do the install. He's a nice guy too. All 11 shades arrived unfortunately, two of the corded shades didn't come with cord tensioners/guides so the cords were just hanging lose on the sliding doors from the kitchen to outside, the most used door. Kyle came in his personal car instead of a work truck, so he didn't have any spare equipment. I found some on Amazon and took care of it myself. I'm a single dad with a 12-year-old, coach youth sports, and have lots of kids running around. I can't have loose hanging things in the house. In addition, six of the shades for the three sliding glass doors were supposed to have Norman's SmartRelease capability. On my initial order I specifically stated I want that feature. Not a single one had it. One month later Trevor contacts me saying he has the shade controls, I specifically ask him if he's talking about the SmartRelease shades, he said correct. We schedule the install in four days, a Thursday. Surprise, surprise they don't show up and never called saying they weren't arriving. They only had the cord guides that were missing from the initial installation, not what I asked for. Friday, I sent him a video from Norman showing him exactly what the SmartRelease shades are. I now sense he doesn't have a clue. Trevor tells me he'll have the hardware in 11 days. Guess what, it is now 15 days later and still no follow up from Trevor that the equipment has arrived and when the project will be completed. I congratulate any of those that says they received quick and responsive service but that is far from my experience. Hopefully, this review will save some of you that don't have extreme patience and expect responsive service. Whatever you do, don't give him a large deposit, make him need to be responsive to get paid. read more

Trevor was very responsive and communicated excellently even around holiday times which was greatly appreciated. Even though we had a small job, he spent the time to really go through our shutter options. He was also transparent with possible wait times for materials (around a couple of weeks due to holidays) and was considerate of our request for an install before a certain date. He followed up quickly after he received the materials and install was very seamless and quick. We are happy with our install and his quotes/overall cost was the best value for the service/materials. 08/12/25- After years and years of buying blinds (hard to clean when dust sticks plus strings attached), finally decided it's time to upgrade for plantation shutters for convenience and looks. Ask for quotes via Yelp for Window specialists, attached my measurements and the first one that replied in the most simplest way with "out the door" price x8 windows is none other than SEI Window Coverings! I still waited and waited for other quotes to come in but SEI by far was the most reasonable price of all. Difference in hundreds and some quotes- thousands, literally! No frills or extras this and that when he does his quote-straight to the point of the cost. That clearly shows the honesty and integrity of this company is right on the dot! Set-up an appointment and had an opportunity to meet Trevor- great guy, humble, positive, simple and had a great sense of humor! He did the measurement (06/09/25). He came on time as promised. He bring samples where you can actually see the product, feel it, match it with your existing wall painting or furniture or kitchen cabinets. Trevor is very good with suggestions just in case you are thinking on which one to pick. He listens and take a note of what you want. He suggested a 3.5 louver but since my home is very small, I feel like 3inches is good enough, so I followed my heart opt for a 3 inches instead. Trevor is a kind of guy that clicks instantly and it's like you have known him for a long time even though it's just the first time of meeting him! Very cool guy, not serious or arrogant, no bs sales talk- just purely business, very down-to-earth! Feeling of a family vibe where you can open up with him on what you want without having a mixed feeling about it! In short- hire him as he is the best of the best! No kidding! Trevor is awesome when it comes to communication! Since these are custom window products, it could be a little challenging for wait times but windows can wait, I am sure of that. For me as long as it will be done flawlessly and perfectly (which they did!), I am okay with it. It's not a life threatening situation after all. Trevor was considerate that I have to move it one more day from the scheduled date and he agreed. Install date: 08/12/25. Met his brother, Kyle- respectful and a great guy, just like his brother; it runs in the family! They both installed 8 windows in less than an hour! My place is small but that's still fast for a very nice and neat job! Their workmanship is perfect; can't find any flaws! The shutters were very high quality. Opening and closing the shutters- a breeze! They even haul away the old blinds that I removed! What more can you ask for? If you are in need of any window solutions, SEI is always here to help! He came that week to take measurements, and came again four weeks later to install 3 shutters. He also took down and hauled away our old, ugly blinds. He charges cut the square foot of windows. We had new windows installed about a year ago and needed blinds to match. We looked at a couple of installers who handled both Graber and Hunter-Douglas. The samples were very close quality-wise and variety of materials and finishes. What really sold us on SEI was Trevor's attention to detail, understanding of the product, and willingness to listen to our needs and incorporate them into his designs. He is also prompt in his replies and accurate in time and cost estimates, letting us plan accordingly. The other installers were very "salesperson-ish" where Trevor spoke to us as an expert and didn't try to sell us on anything we didn't want or need. The results are beautiful, fit perfectly, operate like butter after more than a year of use, and are holding up extremely well (the wood-tone valance in the pictures was my own manufacture, while the white valances are Graber).
