It is with great disappointment I need to write this 1 star review, my experience with this company is so disheartening, I want to save you all from experiencing them. Because of the lengthy, bad experiences with this company, my review was too long to post and is now rewritten. I will try to capture the essence of how poorly this company does business. On Dec 12, 2024 I asked The Blind Guy to provide me with 8 window coverings, 1 slider covering and 2 door coverings with install. As of this day, June 2, 2025, I still do not have my order. The quote Chris provided was so illegible, I asked him to provide me with something I could decipher & read. Chris agreed to send me a typed quote via my email. I am still waiting. I was quoted a 4 week lead-time (this I wrote on the quote myself), my waiting has far surpassed 4 weeks. Per Chris, one of my window coverings was manufactured incorrectly sized -- I am still waiting on that window covering. The 2 coverings for the door were ordered without a coord draw system, I am still waiting on those door coverings. Coverings were sent to Chris in the wrong color, I am still waiting for my entire order. Not a single covering was manufactured correctly. On March 27 I was told by Chris that the correctly colored material I ordered was in stock. Chris text me that he ordered all of my coverings in the correct material, fixed the incorrect size & would provide door coverings w/ a cord draw system. Chris texted that I can expect my coverings to be installed in 3 weeks. I did not hear from Chris until May 26, when I reached out to him asking where my order was. Chris reminded me it was a holiday. On May 29 I reached out to Chris again, asking where my order was. Chris responded, my material was backordered. That's odd, considering on March 27 Chris told me he ordered my coverings. Chris proceeded to tell me he had ordered a material replacement sample that he wanted to show me on Monday or that we can look at some other materials that I can pick out. It was at this point I asked for a refund. I had given The Blind Guy a deposit for my window coverings on Dec 12 and it is now more then 5.5 months, Chris has been dishonest in telling me that an order was placed, when it was not placed, Chris has allowed me to wait on products I believed were on the way, Chris provided me an illegible quote for products that don't even exist. Today is June 2, which is 5 days from the day I requested refund....I have no refund = approx $3000. Chris, as a medical provider that works with hundreds of coworkers & families across the greater Sacramento area, every one of them will hear about my experiences with The Blind Guy. I work extremely hard & I am of service to our community, I am trusted. That may not influence your business dealings, but it will influence many others. I want a refund. read more

Mark Drennan is very knowledgeable and helped us make the perfect selection for our needs. I filled out an interest form online and quickly got a call back from Chris to schedule an in-person estimate on a Sunday which was nice. However, once we saw the price of the estimate and told Chris we wanted to shop around for estimates before we decided on going forward his demeanor changed from friendly and joking to almost annoyed. He said he would get us an email estimate because his handwriting probably wasn't the easiest to read and once he left he sent a thank you text for meeting on a Sunday which I responded to thanking him for coming out on a Sunday as well. All very professional until he literally ghosted us and never replied to my follow up text message about the email estimate that never arrived. He definitely had my email because he confirmed my contact information on our initial phone call and through the interest form. We ended up going with another company because I wasn't trying to chase down a company that literally ignores you because you don't want to sign a check right away. Which Chris mentioned was the range of customers he got, the ones who say "I'll call you back" for a $600 estimate and those that say "So do you take card or check" for a 5 K estimate. Very weird topic of conversation to bring up during a consultation but we were going to consider them if the price was fair. read more

Based on the exceptional service we received at that time we recently reconnected with Brad and his team to attain an estimate for shudders for the remaining seven windows in the house. Besides being knowledgeable in his products, Chris was friendly, easygoing, and convenient to work with. Chris came out to give us a bid on 11-8-21 for shutters throughout our new home.  He had a great bid & we used The Blind Guy in 2005 to put shutters in our previous home.  They even helped us with a warranty issue where shutters in our garage had sun damage.   We went with Chris & The Blind Guy for shutters at our new home.  Chris placed the order right away & the first order was installed on 12-13-21.  The two guys worked hard from approximately 0900 to 1730 hours. Not sure if they even took a lunch break as they were hustling to get the shutters installed on 28 windows & doors.  Unfortunately, they drilled too close to the window on one of our Andersen Patio Doors.  They felt so bad & we were understanding, knowing that things happen.   We were in contact with Chris to figure out how to get the glass replaced with a local vendor.  Unfortunately, the one vendor could not guarantee the glass color would match the other door (French Doors).  We ended up placing an order with Andersen as it appeared no one else in our area could repair it. We placed an order with Andersen.  They lost the first panel somewhere between Minnesota & the Sacramento area.  I went around & around with Andersen.  Finally emailed their executive team & someone was kept an eye on our shipment.  The new patio door was installed on 3-14-22. After the new patio door was installed, I called The Blind Guy & they scheduled us for installation of our second order of five windows & doors as well as the shutter on the patio door in the kitchen where the Andersen panel was replaced. Chris came out with another guy & installed the second order as well as the shutter for the patio door which was replaced for a total of 33 windows & doors. At the end of the day, Chris helped us figure out the best way to get our window repaired and compensated us for the fees associated with the new panel & installation.  Would recommend Chris & his team for quality window coverings, great pricing as well as overcoming adversity when things happened! read more

I contacted the Blind Guy to get an estimate on Hunter Douglas shutters. Brad, the owner, arrived promptly, and began measuring my windows. After measurements were taken he lead me through the different options for shutter and trim sizes. He provided valuable advice on what options were best for the layout of my windows. I found Brad to be very personable, and a font of knowledgeable to help make my choices. Brad even gave me his cellphone number for any questions I might have. In terms of price the Blind Guy was in line with the other estimates that I received. They were not the most expensive, nor the cheapest, but the experience with Brad gave me a good feeling about them. After I placed my order with the Blind Guys they gave me a timeline and I paid my deposit. Due to COVID, the manufacturer was running behind and the initial timeline had to be extended. It took a few phone calls to their office to get the info, but Brad got things straightened out for me. On the install date, Brad and Chris arrived earlier than expected. They gave me a call and asked if that was okay with me. I let them know that I was still at work and they told me that wouldn't be a problem and would start assembling the shutters to prepare for install. When I arrived home they came in, exchanged some pleasantries, and then got right to work. I was amazed with how quickly they were able to install the shutters. Brad and Chris installed my 14 shutters in around an hours time. As they installed they cleaned up their mess, and cracked jokes with myself and my wife. At the end, they walked me through to examine their work, which was of the highest quality, and made sure I was happy. It's now been 6 months since my shutters have been installed and they work flawlessly and look great. Just recently I had a question about caulking the trim around my shutters and texted Brad. He responded immediately with an answer. Overall, I couldn't be more happy with my experience with Brad and the Blind Guy team. We just purchased a new house and after getting 3 other quotes, we opted to use The Blind Guy to put in blinds for the whole house. The experience was good and we felt well taken care of through the entire process. We have had the blinds for about 1 month and so far we are really happy with them! Sales: We were referred to Mark from our builder. After contacting him initially, it took him about 2 weeks to get back to us on scheduling a visit for a quote. We almost opted to go with someone else because of this delay. However, once he did respond he was super quick and helpful. The next day he was out and measuring and he got back to us with a quote in practically no time. He actually took the time to explain how they carry blinds from different manufacturers and how they all differ in price and quality. He was also super helpful in terms of deciding which color, cord length, valence, etc would look best in our home and based on our style. We really appreciated all of his honesty and felt like he was looking out for our best interests. Initially, the prices seemed higher than other quotes we had, but he was able to negotiate quite a bit down on the cost. In the end, we choose to go with Alta Blinds at 2.5inch blinds for about the same cost we were quoted for 2inch blinds (of a different brand) at another company. They were also able to get our blinds in and installed in about 4 weeks vs the 12-16 weeks we were quoted everywhere else. Installation: The install guys were incredible. They were right on time and done in under 2 hours. They were also so clean and careful with their work! I was so appreciative of the way they handle themselves. They took their shoes off when leaving and entering without even being asked! We didn't have to clean up after them at all. When they were done, everything looked incredible. Didn't really get to use his services. We had a blind that the strings to raise and lower broke and I thought I'd check how much $$ to get it repaired. He couldn't do it because he wasn't familiar with whatever brand we had, but he was prompt on getting back to me a couple times and gave me a ballpark estimate in case we might find someone to repair it for us. Customer service is where this business thrives I'd bet, just based on my little contact with it and him. Highly recommended just on that alone. read more

We decided to replace all the 20 + year old Hunter Douglas Vinyl plantation shutters in our house with Hunter Douglas wood composite. After shopping around and going to a home show, I really liked the people and product knowledge from the Blind Guy Company. Mark showed us the product line and really knew his stuff. He spent the time to go over all the options and what he thought would work best within our choices. I really feel he was not trying to push us any certain way, he just wanted us to be happy with our choice. I have learned over the years, a lot of companies sell the same stuff, it's all about who will install it and who will be there if you have any issues. Well as it normally is with any large job, we did have a minor issue after the install with the way the old shutters and the new shutters appeared when looking at them from outside the house. The guys were very responsive and came out and agreed there was some additional trim work to be done. They measured ordered and within a few weeks came back with a team and installed trim in all the areas I had concern. This was very impressive as they not only made it look awesome, but they did it all as a courtesy. Like I said, many companies sell the same products, but it really matters who is going to install and back it up. We are super pleased with the outcome and would go with the Blind Guys again. read more
