I previously received dental work from this office that was acceptable. However, my most recent experience demonstrates a significant decline in service quality, staff competency, and operational integrity. 1. Lack of Professionalism and Training The staff displayed behavior that is inconsistent with the standards expected of a licensed dental practice. Employees appeared undertrained, disorganized, and unable to provide accurate information regarding appointments, treatment plans, or follow‑up care. This level of unpreparedness is unacceptable in any medical environment, especially one responsible for patient health. 2. Failure to Respond to Calls, Emails, and Emergencies Repeated attempts to contact the office were met with: Extended hold times Being placed on hold and forgotten Calls being disconnected No returned calls No responses to emails No acknowledgment of urgent or emergency situations A dental provider has a duty of care to ensure patients can reach them for post‑treatment issues, complications, or urgent concerns. The complete lack of communication represents a serious breach of professional responsibility. 3. Lack of Transparency and Accountability At no point did the office provide: Clear explanations Timely updates Proper documentation Any form of accountability for the delays or failures in communication This absence of transparency undermines trust and raises questions about the clinic's internal management and compliance with New York State dental practice regulations. 4. Emotional and Practical Impact As a patient, I was left: Without support Without answers Without access to necessary follow‑up care The experience was deeply disappointing and distressing, especially given that dental issues can escalate quickly without proper attention. 5. Public Safety Concerns Based on my experience, the clinic's operational failures may place other patients at risk. A dental office that cannot reliably communicate, respond to emergencies, or maintain professional standards should be subject to review by the appropriate regulatory authorities. Conclusion My experience with Smile Crafters - Cambria Heights was unprofessional, unsafe, and unacceptable. The lack of training, communication, and transparency demonstrates a systemic problem, not an isolated incident. Dr. Seaman was caring, he worked with my financial needs and gave me payment plans and my daughter who was a toddler at the time, had her first dental visits with him and stayed until she graduated college. My cleanings are always thorough. Any extractions such as root canals are done with care, perhaps breaking up the sessions and when things shifted and referrals became necessary because the work was no longer done on site. Dr. Udall handles specific components and for the most part Dr. Seaman oversees things, looking at X-rays and developing care plans accordingly. Over the years, Dr. Seaman's practices have experienced the ebs and flows as any other business. I've seen receptions and hygienists come and go but Emmy has been a mainstay. Couple years ago he actually gifted her a trip to Jamaica for her 20th anniversary. He's seen me through the passing of family members, sent cards and delivered care with empathy. I recall my daughter coming home from an appointment and exclaiming " mom did you know Dr. Seaman can sing really well". He had shown her his YouTube. This practice is one of my longest relationships and while I could go elsewhere for a cheaper co-pay, I choose to stay because I am confident I'll be handled with care.

I called Dr. Seamon to ask for a pain medicine to hold me over until my appointment, he told me it'd be the same as taking Motrin (true) but he did not tell me to take 4 at time in order to double up on the strength. I was taking 2 at a time and was still in pain. Dr. Seamon has to control everything about his business (annoying) - when the receptionist calls to confirm your appointment and you cannot make it, he gets on the phone to convince you to do otherwise. This is not the principals office, Mr. S. He thinks he is "serving the community" however I beg to differ. My aunt got dentures here, she told him it hurts, the fit isn't right, but he told her stop complaining!! Her bad for even going back, I refuse. Their equipment is outdated. Getting x-rays are painful. I feel like when you tell Dr. Seamon something is uncomfortable or that you're in pain, he has this look on his face 'stop complaining'. They should be more adherent to sensitive mouths. This is just my experience that I'm sharing. I will never ever return. Good luck if you decide to go.

He put oversized crowns in all four quadrants of my mouth. His work was so bad that I qualified to be a candidate for dental students at a dental college to repair and correct ALL the work Kevin Jackson did to my once beautiful teeth. When I told Kevin Jackson that my teeth were looking funny he said it was due to aging. No it wasn't! It was due to his very poor workmanship and it has been devastating. I didn't realize then that my teeth were shifting and becoming crooked. I now have to get metal braces to straighten my teeth that are now crooked do the oversized crowns, which also caused severe plaque and gum disease. The dental college wanted to know who did the work on my teeth. They are going to use the images of my teeth to teach students what NOT to do! BEWARE Kevin Jackson and do not let him do to you or your family what he did to me. I don't want what happened to me to happen to anyone else. If Kevin Jackson put crowns in your mouth go to a School of Dentistry and have them checked out. I only go to dental colleges for my dental work now because the work is supervised and checked by Dental Professors. I don't know how Kevin Jackson slipped through the cracks of quackery. I hope the medical authorities catch up with him quickly. I tried to post a picture of the horror of my teeth but it won't upload. All of their five star reviews are from approximately six months ago, all use basically the same wording, and majority trace back to Columbia. Went to this place 4/25/25. No receptionist at all; first red flag; we should have left then. Sat in the waiting room past our appointment time and nobody seem to care or acknowledged our presence once the male employee eventually came from the back. Within ten minutes of examining my kid, they were pitching financing and credit. He wanted money by convincing me to sign a financial agreement with them. They are 100% scammers. $20,000 for a simple extraction?! In what world does this make any sense? No way they're legitimate oral surgeons in my opinion; more like snake oil salesman. Preying on patients that have real emergencies. Refused to do the extraction because I wouldn't agree to a $20k bill on future work with them. How is this even ethical? When he realized I wasn't interested, he refused to do the extraction. I asked if the insurance covers the extraction, he responded "yes, the extraction is covered". He just wanted $20,000 from us. Definitely felt like they're preying on patients for profit. ABSOLUTELY horrible practice. DO NOT GO HERE (Laser Dental Center, 219-13 Linden Blvd., Cambria Heights, NY 11411) . Completely unethical and unprofessional. I wouldn't even take my dog here let alone a human being. They should be ashamed of themselves. People work too hard for their money to be drained dry by these type of characters. They make real medical professionals look bad. Save yourselves some time and A LOT of money by FINDING SOMEWHERE ELSE like I did! Disgusting practice. Took my kid elsewhere to a real dental provider who did a great job and didn't even have the same recommendations as this place. The work Laser Dental Center wanted to do would have been completely unnecessary. Be careful.

    Love Valley Stream Dental, they are the absolute best!!…read more There are three professional resident Dentist: Berman; Nastasi & Carr. The supporting staff at front desk/behind the scenes and dental assistances have always welcomed me with a perfect smile, gentle, kind, positive attitude. I have gone to see them for 6 month cleanings since first grade...can you say about 30 years now...Yikes!! Have always loved the decor whether I'm positioned in a room with sports memorabilia, kid friendly Disney or informative dental details. Some rooms have Television or Radio's if you'd like to see/hear while you sit back and relax. Never a reason to be scared, for even if you got yourself in there for something bad (cavities/root canal). I have personally been very fortunate under their care (&Mine!), and once again a 5 star checkup - No cavities!! :) l love hearing that! Parking isn't always the easiest over there, but if you are looking for a great Dentist or simply need a new one...Valley Stream Dental is worth a try and your time. They accept all sorts of insurances in addition to credit card for anything you might need to pay for.
