SO MUCH FUN!! If you're looking for a fun and reasonably priced night out with your partner/family/friends, you gotta come here! The speedway is small, but the excitement is BIG! They have great suppliers with food and drinks, an apparel tent and awesome shows. 10/10 would recommend

Although I have been to the Speedway on several occasions for their fireworks and demolition derbies. . . This review is in regards to the Speedway's Flea Market Sundays. Every Sunday, April - November, the Speedway holds a GIGANTIC flea market/yard sale in the field adjacent to the track itself. What an amazing plethora of the most random stuff available for sale. Furniture, old tools, children's toys, mountains of second-hand clothing, paintings, electronic stereos, computers, video games, cds/dvds, fruit, etc. Some items I have picked up in this field include a large exercise ball, rollerblades, Pabst bottle opener, military ammo boxes for geocaching, the list goes on. . . Great place to pick up needed items for a new apartment. You can find just about anything you might possibly need, and at reasonable prices too! Open from 6 am til 2 pm. Vendors, get there early to set up if you want to sell your own stuff there! $20 entry fee. Completely worth it! My mom and I cleared out, earning $500+ just selling what we had from spring cleaning. Free parking, great savings!!!!

Never had as much fun for $20 as I have had here. OMFG I cannot believe I have never been here before. An UNTAPPED resource of FUN. I went to one of the special events at the track that included: spectator drag racing, monster trucks, figure 8s, trailer racing, and a demolition derby. 5 hours of people deliberately and unintentionally crashing their p.o.s. cars around this little track while trying to impress the crowd with who can do the longest burn out and force us to breathe air that stinks of tires. Bumpers go flying, people lose their transmissions and try to do the course in reverse, cars with trailers attached try to crash one another. Professional drivers? Heck no! To compete in the spectator drag event all you need is your car plus a helmet! Absolutely hilarious idiocy. I can't even find all the words to do it justice. My sides hurt from laughing. Yes it is trashy. No this is probably not a good place for a corporate event. Yes you can eat fries out of dog bowl shaped paper plates (this really added to the classiness) and have your fill of Miller Lite while listening to a mixture of trance, country, and top 40s from the PA system. Get away from the snobbery of Boston and come here for some good ole fashioned American fun.

Track is all slicked up and ready for the figure 8's!

So, I hadn't been to SS in a few seasons. I am always tempted to hit up the July 4th thrill show - and I finally went for it this year. I bought my tickets online, printed them at home (so glad they updated their technology!!) and packed my cooler (6 pack sized - 1 per person - is what they say on the site - no alcohol) Since this isn't my first rodeo - We arrived at 1:30 and got in the gate line to wait for them to open @ 2:30. (3 lines - far left and right are for people who still need to buy tickets. Middle line is for people with tickets.) Once the gates opened I immediately rented seat backs and claimed our spots on the bleachers. I prefer before first turn (you get finish line views and plenty of crashes during the figure 8's) but heard many others proclaiming their turn was superior!). So if you use this tactic - you get in, plenty of seat backs are available, you get toasted by the sun (but they allow sun / bug block so don't forget it!), and your friends get to show up at 4:30 and have seats. ( I.e. 1st $6 beer is on them because you've been there 3 hours!!! ) your all set to enjoy the evening watching the show! They sell draft beer, dels shandy and mikes, but they now stop selling at 8pm. Slightly disappointing but probably for the best anyhow. They have also changed the smoking rules - no more smoking in the grandstands, only on the concourse - props for accommodating ALL of your customers! It seems this place has organized themselves and added more security. The bathrooms were cleaner than in the past and the food counters more streamlined. They have also cut way down on extreme intoxication which was nice. The only fights I saw were on the track and quite frankly - that was entertaining as hell! You can't beat this place for a fun night out - the thrill shows especially! Thanks seekonk speedway family for making it family friendly fun - once again!

    * came on Labor Day weekend for the Saturday night races * entry fee is reasonable * brother is handicapped, and although they had handicapped parking, there wasn't handicapped access to the lower row of seats closest to the track. Had to stay by top bleachers or on bridge where the cars came out * had police detail and good security * can't bring alcohol in, and it's slightly pricey to purchase. $5.50 for a beer and $6.50 for a Mike's Lemonade * after the races are done, was allowed to go into the pit and meet the 'cars and the stars' *clean, large bathrooms * sold 'bench backer' seats and earplugs if needed will definitely go again soon. good times for relatively little money. great for families.

As a long time veteran of Seekonk (16 years) i have seen the place fluctuate in the ability to present a entertaining event. Now of course Seekonk runs a regular racing season with all your typical classes. But they also have a thrill show 3 to 4 times a year. The best of these thrill shows being on the 4th of July and labor day. 5 years ago you would see 87 spectator competitors and over 250 competitors in the enduros, figure 8's and demolition derby. On average you could expect to see 2 to 3 enduros as well as figure 8's. Now it seems the number of spectators is on average 50 to 60 and you might see 100 to 150 competitors in everything else through out the night. And in the past 3 years they have had nduro drags which i think is idiotic. Seekonk does have a unique set of 5 foot ramps for its figure 8 event. Trust me this is insane and is definitely a spice adder to your typical figure 8. Now Seekonk's numbers have dwindled a little bit but is no where close to small in reference to number of competitors. On 2 of these thrill shows they usually have monster trucks or more recently drifting. This replaces there famous fireworks and demolition derby though. Speaking of Seekonk's fireworks i my self have never seen a display so good unless of course you compare them to Boston's 4th of July event. And last but not least is Seekonk's demolition derby. Now 5 to 8 years ago you could see 100+ cars go at it on a entirely open track. ( which is rare for a typical speedway). Now it seems to be as small as 30. However i attended the most recent labor day event and Seekonk was back to its older days with over 100 cars in the demo and a total of 170 something cars through out the nights events. Throw in the inclusion of trailer races once in awhile and Seekonk is actually in my opinion the best thrill show in New England. Some call it trashy i call it passion. It's worth the 20 dollars to see and Seekonk keeps things new by adding a new insane event every 3 to 4 years. If you can handle it go to Seekonk weather your into cars or just want to see something crazy. Among other things just for your information Seekonk has typically high food and beverage prices. Along with 6 dollar draft beer. There facilities are numerous and very clean. Well there you have it, go to Seekonk trust me as a long time vet of the arena its well worth it. For those of you who don't know what the events are. Spectator drags= Bring a helmet and a street legal car and do 1 lap elimination style racing Enduros= 6 to 8 laps with no cautions or stopping, anything go's Figure 8's= 6 to 8 laps like a enduro except cars cross through the infield in a figure 8 pattern with 5 foot ramps at the exit of each corner of the 8 Demolition Derby= Cars line up in a circle and crash and smash until only one is remaining and crowned the victor. Drifting=Specially tuned cars designed to slide sideways around the track. See NEDRIFTING.COM Trailer race= Car or truck tows a trailer. If you lose your trailer your out. Fire works and monster trucks are obvious. Enduro drags=same as spectator except these are not street cars and anything goes.

I have collected Edaville souvenirs and memorabilia for as long as I could remember and I don't wanna say that I'm a train enthusiast, but my career is ON a railroad. I was seriously delighted to hear that the KRF group was going to tackle keeping the Christmas season alive at Edaville! Before our visit, a lot of the local pages on Facebook had naysayers and doubters, and I took the reins trying to be positive: "If it wasn't for the KRF group, there would be no Edaville, since the previous owner gave up and sold off all of the rides." With all that said, we visited with an open heart and mind, and were sadly, completely underwhelmed. Yes, I did notice there were more lights around the park -more so than the last few years. I thought that the giant Christmas tree just beyond the entrance was quite lovely. And, I hate to say it, but that's the end of what delighted me. The shops from the last few years were missing (Hippie Pilgrim, the antiques, the hand painted ornaments,) and the only shops to visit (and there were so few) were those also featured during the renaissance faire. To be honest, some of those shops featured Christmas items, but mostly, it was confusing and completely underwhelming. To call anything on the advertising and Edaville ticket pages a "Merry Marketplace" was quite deceiving. The Jingle Bar, advertised as 21+, was fun and festive but it was crowded with children. And the thing that really disappointed me the most? PortaPotties! It was 33° and I know the Venue has bathroom facilities! To make people use outdoor, frigid cold toilets and cold water is downright cruel! To charge $28 for a visit that doesn't include a train ride, to shop in 10-15 shops featuring old English provisions, and to pee in a PortaPotty, is a crime.

Reading through the more recent reviews it's clear a lot of people are disappointed in Edaville. My son is five and the majority of rides are perfect for him. This is truly a great spot for young elementary school aged kids and younger. There are a few rides where you have to be taller and keep the older kids a bit more engaged and plenty of rides for the younger bunch. Is this place pricey-- yes! But show me an amusement park that isn't. The tickets are high, but you can spend at least four+ hours at the park. We have not encountered crazy lines as others have. The Topham Hat car ride always has a longer wait at around 20ish minutes, but for almost all the others we never waited more than 5-10 minutes. The steam train ride is nice and it's a pretty long ride around the park. If your child loves trains, they will love it here. All the model trains/tracks inside are great to look at as well. It is a little weird how they must have lost their Thomas the Train licensing and the Thomas area very clearly used to be Sodor but now is a winter village. Things like the Dieselworks and the Troublesome Trucks are still pretty clear, even it it's not official. The food here is pretty standard. There is a local BBQ place that must rent out on of the stalls though, because their food was super tasty. Otherwise it's more hot dog, chicken nuggets, fried dough, popcorn, etc. I never went to Edaville before the new owners took over, so maybe that is why my perspective is different-- I have nothing to compare it to. Looking through old pictures though, I do hope they bring dinoland back! My family will be heading back in December for their Festival of Lights!

What it lacks for being modern it more than makes up for with charm. The merry go round is in perfect working condition & it seems like you're going back in time when you're on it. In addition to an arcade, bumper cars & mini-golf there's about 4 other rides for small children. The newest addition still seems a bit antiquated. It's a dragon roller coaster that my 14 rode & she said she was scared she'd fall out. My 3 year old absolutely loves Monkey Mayhem which is a big barrell that spins around & around. There's a smaller roller coaster that goes forward a bit then backwards & he loves it too. The games in the arcade do seem to be up to date. I can't really comment too much since I'm not a gamer. But the selection seems ok & there are a few other coin-op games too. Nothing crazy but it's acceptable. We always have a great time when we go & my son asks to go all the time. Since we live almost walking distance from there we can go at the drop of a hat & haven't been there during peak time. When we do go we get personal service since there's hardly anyone there. I do love the charm of this place & there aren't any other rides on the beach so you're stuck with them whether you think it's a dump or think it's awesome. I'm somewhere in between. It's a very charming dump that's family friendly & I'd recommend it to everyone.
